This made her feel a touch embarrassed-leaving her company in Bobby’s hands only to talk about selling it once she returned. She was fortunate that Bobby was easygoing.

Caleb, leaning against the other side of the wall, heard everything. He twirled an unlit cigarette between his fingers, his frown deepening
He caught wind of Evelyn’s plans to sell Evelyn Jewelry-a company in which he owned a stake. It wasn’t Aron’s place to swoop in and take over, not if he had anything to say about it.
Caleb’s attention was snagged by the laughter and chatter behind him. He glanced over his shoulder to see Evelyn and Aron leaving, still deep-in conversation and smiling.
He then called Colin, “Any luck getting in touch with Bobby about that thing we discussed?”
Colin sounded confident, “Don’t worry, Mr. Mercer. I’ve already made an appointment with Bobby. We’ll meet tomorrow
morning at nine o’clock”
And Bobby, who had just talked with Colin here, just felt mentally and physically exhausted. He did not expect that would actually divorce Evelyn and now set his sights on Evelyn Jewelry.
Thus, he had no choice but to contact Evelyn and convey Caleb intention of acquiring Evelyn Jewelry.

Evelyn, summoned back by Bobby, scowled and bit her lip, clearly annoyed. “Ts Caleb trying to buy out Evelyn Jewelry?”
Bobby watched her closely, noting the edge in her voice. “Yes. Colin called. I’ve got a meeting set with them tomorrow morning. Need me to shut it down?”

“Got it,” Bobby confirmed, mind wandering back to when he put the trademark on the market a month ago. It was snapped up instantly, and he didn’t expect that it was the very same person behind all this.
Caleb and Colin arrived at Evelyn Jewelry early in the morning. This was only Caleb’s second visit to the place despite all the years that had passed. The only other time he’d been here was during his marriage to Evelyn-his mother Jasmine had all but twisted his arm to accept shares in the company. As the visit wound down, Jasmine took her leave. Caleb was ready to head out too, but Evelyn wasn’t done-she lured him into her office. Then she reached into her desk and pulled out a share transfer document. Her cheeks dimpled as she smiled. “Caleb,” she began, her voice tinged with a mix of modesty and pride, I didn’t have a traditional dowry when we got married. This company is my life’s work. Let’s consider this stake in the business as my contribution to our marriage.”
