Caleb saw Ava in a sound sleep when he entered the ward. He made his way to her bedside silently, carefully pulling the blanket up to her chin. Then, moving over to the window, he flicked his lighter and lit a cigarette. Leaning on the fifth-floor window sill, he felt the warm evening air brush against the cigarette dangling from his fingers.
He was done with the business in Irinland. Truth be told, he hadn’t ventured there for any particular purpose. He was more or less escaping from the troubles that had been gnawing at him back home. But what he hadn’t expected was to come across a completely different Evelyn there.
When he saw Evelyn holding Arous arm with a happy look, a mix of jealousy and anger stirred inside him, emotions he didn’t expect to wrestle with. It scared him a bit, how strong and weird they felt-he was supposed to be all in with Ava. gearing up for their wedding. He figured he should resent Evelyn after everything that went down. But when he thought about their divorce, a twist of heartache was there, and he couldn’t shake it.
Soon. Caleb’s cigarette went out. He dropped the cigarette butt into the ashtray and turned around, only to see Evelyn sitting on the bench. He thought with a frown, ‘Evelyn What is she doing here?’
Just as he was about to leave. Evelyn raised her head instinctively and locked eyes with him. Both of them was stunned at that moment
“Caleb!” Ava called his name gently behind him.
Caleb then looked away and turned around.
“You’re up Avy, does your leg still hurt?”
Ava lay on the bed, looked at Caleb’s worried face, and shook her head as she said, “Nah, I don’t feel a thing with you by my
side.”
Hearing that, Caleb gave her hand a tender squeeze. It felt like he was making a soft promise, yet his tone was casual. He said, “We’re going back tomorrow, and I’m going to make our relationship public.
Evelyn watched from downstairs as Caleb disappeared from the window, a silence falling over her. I should’ve seen this coming,’ she thought, a sense of weary anticipation hanging over her. ‘What am I still hoping for?’
She smiled bitterly and stood up, leaving
Aron, who was supposed to be at the office, went to Julius villa. “What do you mean?” he frowned and stared at julius who was half-smiling, feeling mad
I mean you’re late. Someone came here earlier and took her away. I don’t know where they are right now,” replied Julius,
Julius was amused by Aron’s darkened face. He said carelessly, “Tin impressed by Ms. Brin. She gets two powerful men to compete for her.”
“You mean Caleb?” Aron frowned, wondering what exactly Caleb wanted
Julius said, “Yeah. You want the same thing, so it doesn’t matter which one of you took her away. Instead of thinking about her, you should focus on revenge.”
Hearing that, Aron gave Julius a warning look.
Aron frowned. “Evelyn’s like a sister to me, nothing more. Don’twist it.

clueless about what was really going on in his head, and couldn’t help but snicker, “By the way, when will you go back to Clovia: 1 found some clues about the dock. Have you ever heard about the Thomas family in Glovia?”
“David Thomas?” Aron asked, his expression turned grim in an instant.
“Yeah. He also had something to do with the incident years ago, didn’t he?” Julius asked.
