Chapter 25
Luna calmly looked at Ethan, and an unnoticeable trace of resentment flickered in her eyes.
She had developed depression in her past life due to Ethan’s endless reprimands. After her fall out with her five seniors, Ethan behaved like Mia’s lapdog and had occasionally attacked her.
He scolded her for shamelessly eyeing Wyatt, who had married Mia. He’d even dug out her past diaries, in which she poured out her admiration for Wyatt. The entire industry had heard about it because of Ethan.
And that wasn’t all —Ethan had even stirred up rumors, accusing Luna of sleeping with the head of the village for her university tuition fees. The rumors said that after she enrolled in university, she sold her body to secure her place in a popular major,
Luna’s reputation had suffered massively due to those rumors, and she wasn’t even able to hold her head high in the industry anymore back then. Soon enough, she developed depression.
“That’s none of your business.” Luna wore an indifferent expression and said, “Go! Don’t come to see me again.”
ou should just accept
Ethan let go of the snacks and let them fall onto the ground. He smirked. “Why are you so arrogant? I know you’re too poor to afford snacks. You Wyatt and Mia’s kindness”
With that, he tumed around to leave.
Ispent years with such a dimwit!”
“What rotten bucld! I can’t believe I’d sp
“Luna, ignore him.” Russell bent over and picked up the snacks, “Ethan can be snarky. He’s always made mean comments, but deep inside, he cares for you. He worries that you won’t be able to land a job in the future.”
Luna tilted her hrad, puzzled.
Russell faltered under her chilling and all–knowing gaze.
“Just spit it out,” Luna was tired of their repeated harassment. In this life, she refused to listen to their lies!
she found it amusing how the tables had tumed. In her past life, she had followed them around, hoping for their attention. But in this life, she felt nothing but Imitation toward them.
Now, after she had left the team and decided to stay away from them, they began to persuade her to backtrack her decision.
Did they only cherish her after they lost her?
But that wasn’t enough. In fact, her plan had just started.
Russell’s tone softened as he said, “Luna, don’t do this to me. I can’t stand it. We’ve always been the closest. Don’t you remember?”
“So what?” Luna nearly laughed from her anger. “What do you want from me?
Russell licked his lower lip, saying, “It’s nothing. You low that Professor Hanley just started a new research topic. There’s a lot of work to be done. Plus, my plate is full because of the competition.”
Luna stayed silent and simply observed Russell with amusement.
He awkwardly blushed. “Luna, to be honest, I didn’t play a part in your decision to quilt the team. Wyatt was the one who forced you to apologize in public, and Professor Hanley was the one who made you leave.
*I tried talking Wyatt out of it, and I pleaded with Professor Hanley for you. But they didn’t haten because I wasn’t an important member in the team!
Russell’s best talent was playing the victim. In her past life, Lana would agree to all his demands no matter how difficult–whenever he whined about it. But in the end, she realized that he had used her to climb his career ladder. She was just free labor to him!
This time, she would not cave
“I’m leaving if you won’t tell me what it is!” Luna turned around to leave.
Russell was taken aback. He didn’t expect her to actually leave. Her past self wouldn’t have done this–she’d at least comfort him and ask him what was wrong. Worried that Luna night leave for real, he ran after her. “Hey! Don’t go!” He stuffed the snacks into her hand and finally revealed his request,
