Chapter 17
“Our team came up with it.” Nicole clicked into two other files. “We brainstormed three ideas in total, but we think this is the best. We’re stumped by how to take it further though!”
That explained everything. Luna finally knew why Nicole’s team hadn’t gone with this idea in the past life.
She took the mouse and clicked at a few places in the document. Then, she started typing.
Luna still remembered her idea clearly, even though it had been years. Soon, she came up with the proposal for Nicole’s innovation based on her memory.
“Take a look. Will it be difficult for your team to execute this proposal?” Luna did not hold back from sharing at all. After all, she genuinely wanted Nicole’s team to beat Wyatt’s.
Nicole was elated when she saw Luna’s proposal, so much so that she wanted to give Luna a kiss. “Gosh, Luna, you know me so well. My senior said we were stuck because no one in our team majored in cell biology.
“If we were to execute this plan, we might need someone majoring in cell biology to provide some professional data. But as you know, no one would help us because they’d be competing too.”
Then, she came to a pause before asking, “Luna, don’t you plan to join the competition?”
Luna smiled. “Even if I do, our team’s idea will not clash with yours. Trust me. Just use my plan.
“If you need detailed data from me for your thesis report later, feel free to ask. I won’t keep anything from you.”
Nicole trusted Luna, and after having been roommates for four years, she believed in her character. Luna never lied and always kept her promise!
Luna was exceptionally good toward her seniors. But it was too bad they had a fallout.
Nicole wondered if Mia, the newcomer, had played a role in the disagreement. Someone as simple–minded as Luna was no match for that scheming beauty!
All of a sudden, Nicole felt sorry for Luna and said, “Luna, let me know if anyone ever bullies you. I’ll teach them a lesson for you!
“And don’t pay any attention to what they’re saying on the online forum. I believe you’re not who they make you out to be. If you accuse Mia of plagiarizing, then that must have happened, even if you don’t have evidence!”
Luna hadn’t expected Nicole to suddenly bring up the plagiarism incident. Amused, she replied, “Thanks! But let’s lay that matter to rasteinna –

“Whatever you say!” Nicole went ahead to perfect the proposal that Luna had drafted for her. At the same time, she got into a discussion about it with her team.
Meanwhile, Luna was thinking over the online forum discussions. It wasn’t until she checked it out that she realized how crazy it had become.
She climbed through the threads and located the main post that exposed her for joining Erin’s
team.
Just then, Rhett’s question that day came to her mind–he must have been the author of the post.
She followed the account of the poster and scrolled down the post.
Most alumni who commented said she must have lost her mind to give up on a popular major and quit Wilson’s team. Not only that, she switched to an unpopular major, which was a questionable move.
Still, a small minority praised Luna for her courage and will. They respected her decision. Such. comments, however, were and far between.

Others were busy speculating about the reason she quit Wilson’s team. They dug out the plagiarism incident and discussed it, but it didn’t cause much of a ripple because everyone was soon distracted by a campus–wide announcement that was signed off by Wilson.
“The following students have passed the recruitment test for the research team…”
Luna was surprised to find her name missing from the list.
By pulling off this move, Wilson cleared Mia’s name so she wouldn’t be accused of plagiarism again. At the same time, he could conveniently frame Luna’s departure as a simple failure to pass his test.
The announcement helped to distance him from Luna’s decision to quit his team. That would put a stop to the rumors, backing Mia and discrediting Luna!
