Chapter 8
At the end of the story, Lucas and Susan had their happily ever after.
They had loved each other so passionately back then, but now, everything was different.
Love truly worked in mysterious ways.
The comment section was similarly confused.
“What is Lucas trying to say? Is he really going to divorce Susan?
“I thought he was doing that just to make Susan jealous. Turns out he was really trying to cheat on berl “Damn. I can’t believe the extra chapters are so twisted, This doesn’t fit with the main story at all. I can’t understand how Locas turned out to be such a jerk!” Frowning, I stared at Lucas for a long while. Suddenly, heat surged through my body. A wave of dizziness hit me, causing me to lose my balance and almost fall Lucas immediately reached out to steady me, I tried to pull away, but he held my hand firmly. “Feeling unwell? You’ll feel even worse later. You can’t leave me, Jessie
1 suddenly recalled what the chef had said to me earlier about Lucas‘ assistant acting suspiciously in the kitchen. Looking up, I glared at Lucas. “What did you put in my food?”
“Amaphrodisiac. I’ve tested it on other people. Don’t worry. It’s safe,” Lucas said.
I struggled, trying to break free of his grip “Lucas Bradshaw, have you lost your mind? This is the Morrison residence. I am Simon’s wite!”
I know. That makes it even more exciting, doesn’t it?”
It felt as though my body had been lit on tice. Even my organs felt like they were burning.
Locas pulled me into his anns once again. “I’ve had enough of Susan, She is a brash, overbearing woman who knows nothing but work. You and I were engaged once before, and 1 know you still have a crush on me. Why won’t you be with me?”
“Are Lucas and Susan breaking up? I’m sorry, butt can’t accept this.”
“Lucas is such an asshole! Simon, come and save your wife!”
“Jessica, don’t agree to it!
How could 1 possibly agree to such a shameless proposal?
The Lucas I remembered was a bright, righteous young man. As the protagonist of the novel, he was gentle, kind, and sensible–nothing like the despicable man
before me.
Summoning all my strength, i fitted my leg to kick him in the groin.
However, someone else was faster.
All I heard was a rush of wind and a flurry of sticks and leaves. Then, the cold night ait hit my face as I was pulled into Simon’s protective embrace.
“Thank god Simon is here! Jessica is saved!”
“Here comes the showdown! Fight! Fight!
Simon gently set me aside before getting into a tussle with Lucas.
Or rather, it was more et a one–sided beating on Simon’s part.
The difference in strength was apparent, Lucas stood no chance against Simon
Leaves flew everywhere. The scuttle created a massive commotion, yet Lucas bodyguards were nowhere to be seen
