Chapter 26
Victoria ormed at the sound of the voice.
Aren was desed in a perfectly tailored suh. His warm, sunlit expression carried a polite schile. His eyes showed an apologetic look as he gazed at Victoria. He exuded an air of effortless charm and approachability.
“My men can be a bit rode. I hope you won’t take it to heart, Ms. Smith,” Aarons
said as he stepped inside and took a seat
He poured bet a cup of jasmine tea. His tone was calm. “Come, sir. Let’s talk about the ring
don’t want to sell in anymore,Vironia replied. Her phone still had no signal, and all she wanted now was to leave
Aaron remained composed as he slid the cup toward her. “Ms Smith, Fdacrise you to reconsider. If you’ve changed your mind because of my delay on my bodyguards” rudeness, I’ll glady
She replied. “It’s not that. I just saddenly decided to keep it as a memento.”
Aaron traced the rim of his teacup with his fingers. His demeanor subtly shifted. “Is that so?”
“Then perhaps you don’t know me very well.” His voice was steady, deliberate
“I don’t rarely go out of my way to acquire something. When I do, and the other party backs out at the last minute, I tend to be very displeased.”
Victoria’s fingers instinctively tightened around her purse.
Aaron took a leisurely sip of his jasmine tea and said, “Why don’t you name your price?”
“Five million dollars,” she said, hoping to make him bark off
He set his cup down while still smiling. “I’m making a sincere offer, Ms. Smith. Don’t take me for a fool.”
His tone regained gentle, but the words carried weight. “How about two thousand dollars?”
If Victoria still didn’t realize he was toying with her, she would be a fool
She gripped her phone. “Not selling ”
“Forgive me, then. Aaron g

Before she could react, the two bodyguards moved in, closing off her escape. Victoria frantically pressed her emergency call button, but before she could finish, one of the men wrenched the phone from her grasp, while the other restrained her.
“This is robbery!” she shouted.
“Who said I was after your ring?
Aaron walked up to her and raised her chin with a finger. He spoke the exact words someone had fed him.
“Leon used to keep you under his wing, so I had no way to touch you. But now….……. it’s time for you to pay off your father’s debt.”
Achill ran down Victoria’s spine.
Before Victoria could say anything, Aaron gave his orders. “Tie her up, blindfold her, and put her in the suite next door. I’ll be there soon.
“My friend is downstairs! If I don’t go down in ten minutes, she’ll call the cops!” Victoria had no other choice but to try and scare him.
But he didn’t care at all.
Terror gripped her at the bodyguards dragged i
Only after she had completely disappeared from the condesence om did Aaron finally turn to the small room inside and speak. “Are you sure you want to see her like this? You’ve been treating her like she’s something precious, too fragile to touch.”
A cold voice responded from the shadows. “I don’t, she’ll never learn her lesson.”
The next moment, Lean stepped out of the room. His fitted gray suit made him look even more distant and untouchable. His sharp gaze lingered on the doorway where Victoria had disappeared
She used to sell the ting
If he didn’t teach her a lesson now, these was no telling what she might do next.
“I don’t push her too much,” on advised. He was clearly more sympathetic toward women. “If something really happens to her, aren’t you the one who’ll be the most worried? Leon didn’t respond. His thoughts were occupied by what he had just witnessed. His gaze darkened as it landed on Aaron’s hand.
Aaron caught the look and felt a sliver down his spine. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“which hand did you touch her with!” Leon’s voice was cahn, but the danger in it was unmistakable.
Aaron was baffled. “What?”
It took him a second to realize what Leon meant, and when he did, he was speechless. “I was following script you gave me! Are you seriously blaming me for that** “You said in yourself, I’m crazy,” Lean teplied, completely untethered
