Chapter 15 Getting Rid of Olivia
On the same night, I sent Sean and the recording to the police station. Keith, the older policeman who dealt with my case earlier, so happened to be on shift.
Keith did not say much after taking my statement, only promising a favorable outcome this time.
After I left the police station, Reuben waited for me in the car. He had taken over for the driver.
“What do we do next, boss?”
I posted the original, unedited recording to the Internet. As expected, people attacked Sean for his abominable behavior. They even attacked Grayson, who was long dead. “Y’all, what the heck is going on? I am beyond stunned!”
“Truth is stranger than fiction. I can’t believe someone would willingly be cuckolded.”
“This gives me the ick. I apologize for cursing out Grayson Rockwell’s wife before this. She’s so unlucky to run into those bastards.”
The debacle that had dragged on for months finally came to an end following the heated discussion online.
I also received the court’s verdict, which came unusually fast due to the scale of the case and the intense public scrutiny it attracted–especially with Olivia’s legal case still ongoing. Sean was set to serve at least a solid ten or more years in prison. Olivia, though spared from legal consequences, was ordered to repay the money Grayson had spent on her. Earlier, my wyer had successfully reclaimed assets for me, including but not limited to houses, cars, and various designer bags and jewelry.
Even after recovering nearly ten million dollars, we were still short of a few million dollars, which fell on Olivia as debt.
But I never heard from her again.
Learning from past lessons, Reuben finally spotted her in a nightclub in a nearby city, nestled in the arms of a plump, middle–aged man. “That’s a well–known local playboy. He’s got at least eight to ten sugar babies,” Reuben dutifully explained the man’s background to me.
Without Grayson as her golden ticket and after that fiasco with Sean, Olivia was now burdened with debt. Naturally, she had to latch onto a new lover.
But not everyone would treat her like a precious first love, the way that pathetic fool Grayson did.
In the dim lighting, the man’s hand casually trailed down Olivia’s thigh. He poured drink after drink down her throat, even deliberately spilling alcohol down the front of her dress. Across the crowd, Olivia caught sight of nie sitting on the second floor. She quickly turned away in embarrassment.
I hadn’t planned for this, but I certainly didn’t mind how things had turned out.
I glanced at Reuben. With his collar slightly open, he exuded an air of effortless charm. I beckoned him over.
“Boss, you may be rich, but I am running a legal business here,” he declared, clutching his chest in mock indignation. “Get lost.”
And so, we tried to emulate Grayson’s moves.
Reuben stepped into the role of a wealthy heir, launching a passionate pursuit of Olivia. He spoiled her like a princess, showering her with flowers, gifts, and grand gestures—the full package.
But for some reason, Olivia insisted on taking photos of every gift and sending them to me. She even texted me taunts.
“Even without Grayson and Sean, I still have plenty of admirers. Enjoy growing old alone with your pile of cash.”
To that, I simply replied, “Cool.”
Seriously, in what world was being a wealthy widow with millions of dollars in assets supposed to be a tragic fate? Olivia’s taunt sounded like jealousy to me.
Clivia quickly fell for the sweet, intoxicating romance. She even dropped hints to Reuben several times, suggesting they could take things further.
“Boss. I really can’t keep this up any longer,” Reuben finally complained to me.
Right on cue, I made sure Olivia’s current sugar daddy got the message. He had plenty of women, but none dared to make a fool out of him.
Word had it that he eventually sent Olivia off to work at one of his private rooms, performing endless “client services” every night.
i guessed, in some ways, Olivia finally found a physical job for herself.
