Chapter 16
A storm was brewing in Malcolm’s gaze, his rationale wavering. Outside, Reina’s knocking grew more urgent, as if she was angry and anxious
Malcolm’s gaze darkened, and he made a decision in a split second. He clamped a hand over Janice’s mouth to keep her quiet.
She glared at him, curious how he was going to handle this situation.
Malcolm shot her an icy look–a waming. Then, he called out sternly, “What is it?””
His voice was cold and authoritative as if he was dealing with business matters. He sounded completely different from the person who had lost control

Reina said softly, “Malcolm, I made you some dessert. Open the door.”
*I’m in a meeting. Don’t disturb me,” Malcolm replied grimly.
Janice stopped struggling once she realized there was no point in it. She relaxed and leaned against Malcolm lazily.
He noticed the change in her behavior and stiffened. He suddenly felt angry that she was so good at provoking him
Gritting his teeth, be hissed, “Janice, don’t test my patience!”
Janice pretended as if she hadn’t heard his warning and whispered coquettishly, “Mr. Gomez, how long is your meeting going to take?”
Malcolm’s gaze darkened further. He knew that he couldn’t risk meeting Reina in person. Taking out his phone, he texted the butler. “Reina’s here. Find a way to make her leave. Don’t let her get close to the study,”
ow behind the desk.
He put away his phone and turned to look at Janice, who was now
She leaned against it calmly and crossed her arms. A smile played on her lips. Her expression seemed to be saying “Mr. Gomez, it seems like your meeting has ended”

Malcolm strode to her and bent down. Trapping her against the desk, she said in a dangerous tone, “You’d better pray you have enough stamina.”
Janice wasn’t intimidated at all, and she even smiled more cheekily. She tilted her head and said, “I’ll play along with you. Do whatever you want
Her provocative tone ignited his lust and washed away Malcolm’s last bit of rationale. He quickly claimed her lips in a searing kiss.
Only God knew how much time had passed before the door of the study reopened Malcolm adjusted his ruffled clothes and walked out steadily.
However, his expression darkened when he saw the slender figure in the living room. What was Reina still doing here?
Hearing the noise, Reina looked up and smiled the moment she saw Malcolm. “You’re finally done with work!”
She pointed at the cake on the table and said gently, “I baked you a cake.”
“What are you doing here? Malcolm asked coldly.
Reina’s smile wavered, and she looked hurt. However, she quickly composed herself and said warmly, “The butler told me you were busy, so I waited for
you. I’m free anyway.
Malcolm frowned and glanced at the butler, who immediately hung his head in fear.
“I don’t feel like cake right now,” Malcolm said curtly and turned away.
“Malcolm!” Reina grew anxious when she saw him leaving. She rushed after

“Are you mad at me?” she asked in a pleading tone. “I know I was wrong that day. I shouldn’t have thrown a tantrum at you without getting the facts right, but…”
Her voice broke, tears welling in her eyes.
Malcolm took a deep breath, suppressing his annoyance. In a gentler tone, he said, “I’m not mad at you. I’m just really tired right now, and I want to rest
“Then then I’ll accompany you,” suggested Reina warily, hope flickering in her eyes.
Malcolm turned and stared sterly at the butler, who was trying his best to become invisible.
The butler trembled and wished he could bury his head in the ground. He dared not offend Malcolm’s fiancée.
Malcolm looked away and said firmly, “Sebastian, send Ms. Ludwig off.”
Reina blanched. She didn’t expect Malcolm to be so beartless, turning her down with so many people watching,
Biting her lips, tears rolled down her cheeks. She said in a choked voice, “Malcolm, why are you treating me this way? I just care about you. Is that so wrong?”
Malcolm frowned. He hated it when women cried. Besides, his patience for Reina had long since worn off.
“Please get a hold of yourself,” he said icily. Ignoring her tears, he walked upstairs

Reina watched him go, but she didn’t dare to chase after him even though she was angry. She knew that Malcolm meant what he said, and he would get more annoyed if she kept bothering him. Taking a deep breath, she suppressed her sadness.
“Please show me outside,” said Reina to the butler.
The butler heaved a sigh of relief and led Reina out of the villa. Only when Reina fully disappeared from sight did he truly feel relieved.
Wiping the cold sweat off his forehead, he was happy that Reina was smart enough not to keep bothering Malcolm. Otherwise, he really didn’t know
what else he could do.
Back in the study, Malcolm found Janice lounging on the couch. She was smirking as if she was watching a good show.
He walked to her and asked icily, “You already knew she would come?”
Janice raised an eyebrow and said, “What do you mean? How could I have known that she would come?”
Malcolm stared at her coldly with a suspicious look in his eye
