Chapter 4
The next day, as soon as I stepped out of the elevator, Logan grabbed my arm outside my apartment.
He pushed me against the wall, urgency etched on his face.
“Natalie, you’re lying to me, aren’t you?
“Our baby is still with us, right?
“You love me too much to hurt our child!”
I remained silent, locking eyes with Logan.
My silence seemed to unsettle him; I could feel his grip on my wrist trembling.
“Say something, Natalie!” Logan urged, desperation creeping into his
voice.
I replied coolly, “You’ve seen the miscarriage paperwork. What more is there to discuss?”
In an instant, pain, sorrow, and anger flickered in his eyes.
I thought, “Logan, does it hurt?
It should. I want you to feel this.”
Chapter 4
I wanted him to taste the suffering I had endured.
“Why didn’t you talk to me about this? I’m the father!
“How could you make this decision on your own?
“That was our child! How could you kill him?
“How could you be so heartless?” Logan demanded, his voice rising.
I thought, “Heartless?”
I looked up at him, forcing a wry smile.
“The father? Logan, do I need to remind you?

“Meryl is your legal wife. Meryl is your legal wife. You want my child to be a bastard? Dream on!”
His expression faltered, disbelief washing over him. “Natalie, are you trying to get back at me?
“You’re using this as revenge?
“You know how much I wanted our baby.
“So, you killed him on purpose.
“You want to see me regret this, don’t you?”
I thought, “Yes, Logan.
Chapter 4
I want to see you suffer.
But how can you blame me?
You pushed me to this point.
The moment you got that marriage license with Meryl, our fate was sealed.”
I answered honestly, “Yes, I want you to feel pain, and I want to sever the last ties between us.
“Logan, someone like you, who changes allegiances like the wind, doesn’t deserve my love, let alone a child.”
He was nearly frantic. “What do I have to say for you to believe me? I love only you!
“I just pity Meryl! Why won’t you trust me?”
Did it even matter if I believed him?
The moment I lay on that operating table, I knew there was no turning back.
I understood that ripping him from my heart would be bloody and excruciating.
But even so, I couldn’t keep loving him.
I wiped away a tear and said coldly, “Then take your pain and

pity Meryl. From now on, there’s nothing between us.”
Logan was genuinely furious.
He slammed his fist against the wall, blood dripping from his fingers onto the floor.

Logan didn’t seem to feel the pain; his eyes were bloodshot, fixed on me as he said, “Natalie, I don’t want a woman who uses. a child’s life as a weapon for revenge!”
Fine, if he didn’t want me, then so be it..
If his idea of “wanting” meant secretly marrying another woman behind my back, then I didn’t need it.
