At the same time, the bedside lamp was turned on by the person standing next to the bed.
I looked at the man standing by the bed with suspicion, and it took me a while for my heart
to settle down.

an unpleasant expression, I glared at the man who appeared in my room in the middle of the night, “What are you doing here in the middle of the night?”
This midnight fright almost scared half of my life out of me.
Lukas remained silent, wearing a stern face.
I was really scared, and seeing Lukas not saying anything only made me more annoyed, “Do you know that scaring people can kill them? Are you sleepwalking in the middle of the night?”
Lukas looked at me with an enigmatic expression.
He knew it was really inappropriate to suddenly appear in my room in the middle of the
night.
But he couldn’t fall asleep at all.
After he had taken a shower, he had gone to bed early, but he couldn’t stand the sweet scent on his body. He had taken two more showers.
However, even so, he still couldn’t fall asleep. He secretly bought the same shampoo and shower gel as me, but found that the scent was completely different from what I had on my body.

Unfortunately, he was shocked to find that he couldn’t stand this feeling of not being able to sleep. He didn’t want to take sleeping pills, so he decided to find out what scent I had on me.
He didn’t expect that I would wake up in the middle of the night.
However, in the current situation, he couldn’t possibly say that he just came over to secretly smell my scent. That would sound creepy and utterly shameful.
Lukas’s eyes flickered as he looked at me, who was holding back my anger.
He said, “I’m more familiar with this bed. I wanted to come over and sleep.”
I knew that this was the master bedroom, and Lukas might have slept here before.
Though I was still a little frightened, I had no reason to refute Lukas’s words.
I suppressed my anger, took a deep breath, and was about to get out of bed, saying, “Then
I’ll sleep in the next room.”
However, before my feet touched the ground, Lukas grabbed my arm firmly, his expression dark. “No need. The bed is big enough, I can share it with you. I’m not that selfish.”
I frowned, “It’s not about being selfish or not. I need to keep my distance from you, so I won’t have any inappropriate thoughts. I really dare not sleep with you. Otherwise, if I do something that makes you misunderstand, you might think I have feelings for you. I really don’t want to explain it to you repeatedly.”
Lukas looked at me silently. He thought I liked explaining things.
Having to explain to myself several times in one day, I made it clear that I had no feelings
for him.
Even if he used to think that way, he was too lazy to think like that now.
As soon as I finished speaking, the butler’s worried voice came from outside, “Madam, I
heard you scream just now. Is everything alright?”
Lukas frowned and raised his voice, “It’s nothing. We were just playing around. You don’t need to worry.”

glared at Lukas, my gaze saying, “Who’s playing around with you?”
Lukas ignored my expression and said straightforwardly, “You can rest assured, I believe you have no feelings for me now. You don’t need to explain anymore. just go to sleep”
I remained frozen in place.
Lukas became somewhat impatient, “If I tell you to sleep, then sleep. I won’t do anything to you. What are you worried about?”
My lips moved, and I looked at Lukas with a complicated expression. “Mr. Strakovski. 1 really don’t understand what you want. You told me not to have inappropriate thougins, yet
you are the one who wanted to share a bed with me. What exactly…”
Lukas’s expression also turned grim, but he couldn’t bring himself to say that he wanted t
sleep with me in his arms.
With a cold and domineering tone, he said, “Sophia, did you forget what I said to you when
we registered our marriage?”
I was taken aback, “What do you mean?”
Lukas’s lips curled slightly as he calmly uttered four words, “Marital obligations.”
My face instantly changed.
I remained silent for a few seconds before looking up at Lukas, “Mr. Strakovski, if 1
understand correctly, you mean that I can’t have any feelings for you, but I must futill your requests and perform marital obligations. Is that what you’re saying?”
Lukas looked at me expressionlessly, “You’ve understood it thoroughly.”
