I couldn’t quite fathom Lukas’s reaction, but I chose honesty. “Ava.”
Observing my unease around the two men, Anthony intervened with a timely inquiry.
“Sophia, who are these two?”
This is the CEO of Strakovski Jewelry, Mr Strakovski, and the injured gentleman is his friend.” I glanced at Anthony and swiftly explained.
Upon hearing my introduction, Elias arched an eyebrow, and his gaze unconsciously shifted to Lukas. He wondered why I appeared unfamiliar with them, considering I and
Lukas had already obtained our marriage certificate.
I paid no heed to Elias’s reaction and calmly introduced Anthony. “Mr Strakovski, Mr.
Schmidt, this is the director of Rivers Health Medical Center, Director Rivers.”
Calm and collected, Lukas extended his hand toward Anthony. “Ah, Director Rivers, your
name has reached my ears long before our meeting.”
Anthony shook hands with Lukas. “The same goes for you, Mr Strakovski. Your reputation
obvious precedes mine.”
Their handshake was brief but impactful.
“If Director Rivers ever takes an interest in jewelry design, you’re welcome at Strakovski.”
Lukas looked at Anthony squarely as he spoke.
Anthony responded with a smile, “I’ll keep that in mind. And naturally, if anyone from Mr Strakovski’s family requires medical treatment, they are welcome at Rivers Health Medical Center. I’ll ensure they receive the best care from our finest doctors.”
A flicker of amusement played on my lips. I sensed a depth to Anthony that went beyond his polished demeanor.
Lukas, however, chose not to respond to Anthony’s offer.
On the other hand, Elias displayed his discontent. “Is that how you talk to people? Wishing

them to hurt and then come to the hospital for treatment?!”
Anthony gazed at Elias with minimal alteration in his expression. “Ah, my words were a tad clumsy. My apologies. What I intended was that life’s journey contains highs and lows, and certain circumstances are inescapable. Should someone find themselves in need of hospital care, I’d extend my assistance, especially when Miss Lopez graces us with her presence.”
I didn’t expect Anthony to be gentle and kind, yet also sharp–tongued in his speech.

I didn’t know why but sensed that Lukas was displeased.
I chose not to dwell on it. “Mr Strakovski, Mr. Schmidt, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go see Ava
with Director Rivers.”
Lukas remained silent, his face cold.
On the other hand, Elias’s eyes flickered, and he chimed, “Ava is in the room next to mine.
It’s quite a coincidence. Let’s go together!”
Thus, the four of us entered Ava’s hospital room together, bringing life and energy into the
otherwise small and crowded space. Ava furrowed her brows at the sudden lively
atmosphere.
I felt a bit helpless and introduced them. “Ava, Mr Strakovski, and Mr. Schmidt came here as soon as they learned about your injury. The other person is my friend, Anthony!”
Hearing my words, Lukas’s gaze shifted to me.
However, as I had my back turned to him, I couldn’t see Lukas’s expression.
Lukas didn’t anticipate that after he cautioned me, I would seemingly suppress the
vivaciousness that was once so inherent to me.
I suddenly became polite and treated him like a superior in front of others.
Well, it was him who told me not to think overstep his boundaries, and he could accept my
behavior.

The more Lukas pondered, the darker his expression became,
Glancing at Elias, Lukas spoke coldly, “I’m leaving. Don’t call me unless it’s urgent.”
With that, he turned and walked away.
I, observing hierarchy, respectfully said, “Mr Strakovski, goodbye.”
Lukas’s steps hesitated for a moment, and he snorted coldly before striding off.
He didn’t expect to dislike me addressing him as “Mr Strakovski” with such deference. It felt like heavy sarcasm, making him in huge uncomfortable.
Elias was momentarily stunned, then quickly followed after Lukas. At the elevator, he caught up to him and tugged on Lukas’s arm. “You are really… angry?”
“Which of your eyes saw that I’m angry?” Lukas’s expression remained indifferent as he glanced at Elias.
“Don’t pretend. I know you too well. You’re not yourself right now.”
“You care so much about your reputation, and yet she got married to you and acted distant in front of Anthony. If you’re not happy about it, I’m not happy either. As husband and wife, your relationship should be closer than just friends. Can’t she even see that?”
