Third POV
Lukas felt a mix of anger and frustration. He turned his head sharply and refused to look at Sophia anymore. His heart sank to the lowest point. “No need. We’re almost at Hill Crest One Residence. The family doctor is already there.” He said.
After he finished speaking, he tried to control his emotions, not wanting to lose his temper. The car sped up to over a hundred kilometers per hour and rushed towards Hill Crest One
Residence.
To be honest, Lukas was not only infuriated at being interrupted during such a moment of
passion, but he was also frustrated by his wounded pride.
However, what can he do? He can’t bear to watch Sophia suffering like this, but she doesn’t
want to be taken care of.
What kind of woman does Lukas really want? Why did he have to take advantage of her vulnerability? That would only make him lose face.
Moreover, he had never been fixated on anyone. He simply just wanted to help her out.

Lukas escorted the doctor out.
“Is there anything wrong with her body?” Lukas’s expression was gloomy.
The doctor replied, “There’s nothing major. The medicine Miss Lopez took is a slow–acting
drug based on your description. It means the initial effects of the drug are not too
noticeable. By the time it’s discovered, the drug has already spread through the
bloodstream, the effect of gastric lavage won’t be that big anymore.”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “That’s why I suggest that you, Mr. Strakovski,
bring her home. Besides, the ingredients of this type of drug are generally the same. The medicine I brought is specially formulated by me, and as long as it’s not the latest development on the market, my antidote should be effective against these types of drugs.”
The doctor had served many upper–class families as their personal physician, so he had
encountered such situations frequently. He constantly improved the prescription based on the drugs he came across, and the antidote he brought would generally work against such drugs.
Lukas felt somewhat relieved upon hearing this and sighed.
The doctor looked at him. “Lastly, Mr. Strakovski, pay attention. If Miss Lopez’s condition worsens, you’ll have to help her endure it, or she’ll have to endure it herself. Even if you take her to the hospital, the drug’s components will need to be analyzed, and it will take
some time to find a solution.”
Lukas nodded. “I understand.”

“Lukis, is Miss Lopez okay? I saw you carrying her when you left. Were you two together?”
Elias’s tone was casual
His gaze had been focused on Ava, so he hadn’t paid much attention to Sophia.
Only now did he remember what Lukas had said about Sophia having low blood sugar.
Lukas’s face darkened considerably, “She drank something problematic at the birthday banquet.”
Elias’s playful expression froze instantly. “Really? Who would dare to do such a thing on
that kind of occasion? Weren’t you with her the whole time?”
Lukas hesitantly said, “I still don’t know who made the move, but it’s best not to let me find
out,”
Although he and Sophia were only married by certificate, anyone who dared to scheme against him would have to pay the price. Moreover, after feeling so frustrated because of Sophia, Lukas was determined to take his anger out on the person who was responsible for
this.
After ending the call with Elias, Lukas immediately called Martins to investigate who had
tampered with the drinks that night.
Once he finished the call, he went back to the bedroom to check on Sophia.
In the short time he was away, Sophia’s flushed face seemed to have faded slightly.
Lukas could tell that the medicine brought by the family doctor had indeed worked.
The next morning, Lukas was awakened by his phone’s ringing.
He picked up the call, assuming it was Martins with the results of the investigation.
To his surprise, it was his father, Cillian Van Eimeren, on the other end of the line.
Lukas’s voice was still husky from just waking up. “Dad, why are you calling? Is there something you need?”
Cillian frowned, “You’re still not awake?”

Lukas moved the phone away and checked the time. It was already past ten in the morning.
He rubbed his forehead and sat up. “I went to bed late last night. What’s the matter? Is there something you want to talk about?”
Last night, he had seen Sophia’s blush gradually fade away before leaving her room.
Cillian snorted, “You’ve really become wild. You started your own company and think you have the ability, so you don’t come back home anymore. We tried to introduce you to a Potential marriage candidate, but you insist on marrying Emily.”
“Fine, as long as you like her, and your families match, then go ahead and marry her. But it’s been so long, and you still haven’t brought her home. This marriage is stuck in limbo, and you’re out every day, what on Earth are you doing?”
Lukas felt annoyed by his father’s nagging. He frowned, “Dad, do you have something important to tell me?”
Cillian sensed that his son’s tone wasn’t right and immediately became angry, “It’s all because you don’t come back home. Your mother keeps nagging about it every single day. If not for that, do you think I want to say so much to you?”
Lukas’s drowsiness disappeared completely, and he felt somewhat helpless. “I’ll come back home in a few days. Is there anything else? And, I’m no longer with Emily. We’ve broken up for good.”
Hearing his son’s tone soften, Cillian’s anger subsided. “I called to remind you not to promote that Sophia in your company.”
