Ingrid had no desire to be part of anyone’s drama. She was already tangled up in her own mess, but she couldn’t escape the spectacle now.
In just a few seconds, people from the offices and wards began to pour out into the hallway. Brandon, with frustration evident in his expression, yanked Zelda back into his office.
Even through the door, Ingrid could hear Zelda’s angry voice. “So you’re protecting her? You’ve been working night shifts just for her?”
The crowd outside, once interested in the rumors surrounding Ingrid and Jasper, was now shocked to learn of Brandoe’s Involvement.
No one had ever suspected that he had a girlfriend. And now, his girlfriend was at the hospital, ready to catch him in the act with Ingrid
The nurses in the hallway held their breath. They wanted to know but had to pretend not to notice, returning to their desks in silence.
Xema was unable to ask directly, so she sent Ingrid a message on WhatsApp. “What’s going on?”
Ingrid saw the new message flash across her screen but didn’t pick up her phone. Her mind was racing, and her nerves were frayed. She wasn’t the other woman, but she was terrified that Zelda’s outburst would spiral out of control.
If things blew up, Ingrid didn’t care about Brandon’s reputation, but she did care about her own. She would become the biggest joke in the hospital

As her thoughts raced, Ingrid suddenly stood up and walked purposefully down the hallway.
The nurse station buzzed with energy. What had once been a sleepy night shift was now filled with anticipation.
Ingrid stopped in front of Brandon’s office and knocked on the door. A voice from inside called out, asking “What is it?”
“It’s me Ingrid”
There was a slight pause before the door opened Brandon’s expression was dark, and he barely concealed his frustration. “What are you doing here?
Ingrid didn’t waste time with pleasantries. She pushed the door open and stepped inside.
Zelda stood a few feet away, removing her mask, her face no longer as familiar to Ingrid as it once had been.
Zelda had once been a student at the York Film Academy, known back then as Zelia.
Ingrid remembered her from her very days when she often visited Bandon at York Medical University. They were affectionate in public, and Ingild had seen them together several
times.
But after their sophomore year, Ingrid hadn’t seen her again until recently, when she reappeared in Krylen under the name Zelda and became a rising star.
Zelda had always been beautiful, but she had transformed to suit Kurylenn’s beauty standards better. After her debut, she became briefly popular, but rumors about her relationships began to surface, damaging her public image as a single idol.
Eventually, she admitted to her connection with Irandon, claiming that they had grown up together and their closeness was purely platonic, not romantic.
When Zelda returned to Zhania, she briefly became a fan–favorite supporting character in a drama fut soon, her career faded, and new, younger stars replaced her..
Throughout all of this, Ingrid had been working with Brandon at the same hospital, and everyone knew that he didn’t have a gelfriend. Ingrid had always assumed that Brandon and Zelda had long since broken up
