Chapter 75
The stare down between me and Agnrs seemed to go on for ages. I didn’t think I could hate someone as much I disliked Tina but she was coming in pretty close.
Her eyes which had raised in shock were now fixed on me, a warning glimmer fixed domy in them. Arthur seemed vaguely aware of the silent show down transpiring between us.
fter a while, he turned back to me and nodded.

With that, he took that as his sign to continue forward. The look on his face spoke volumes of indifference as he passed by Agnrs without so much of a glimpse.
I didn’t bother stopping to look at her any longer, about to follow in his wake. Agars had come here for some reason, probably to achieve some twisted goal of her but it didn’t mean I was going to give her that.
“Elder Arthur.”
That got my teacher to stop. Agnrs came up to me, her gaze occasionally flickering to me before she turned back to him again.
“I want to talk to you about something important.” She said to him.
Her gaze briefly flickered on me, indicating she probably wanted to talk somewhere private. Arthur didn’t look too keen on moving any other place.
“Well, let’s hear it then.” Arthur put his hands behind his back.
Agnrs let out a breath before she pointed a finger at me. “This woman right here is unfit to work under the tutelage of someone as esteemed as yourself.”
Arthur cocked his head. “And why’s that?”
“Her character is too bad. I don’t believe it’s fit for the standards we expect in this Academy.” Agnrs continued, her voice carrying the hate she had for me.
I wanted to butt into the conversation, possibly defend myself if I could. But doing that didn’t seem all that good now. The confrontation I’d had with Agnrs in public was still there.

It hadn’t been long since that happened.
I was in school now. Any false misstep and I could be withdrawn. I’d already come a long
way to let that happen now.
Arthur’s gaze turned to me briefly. His eyes were dark and unreadable, leaving me with the nerves that were still eating at me without mercy. He turned back Agnrs.
“Is that all you have to say?”
She nodded. “Yes sir.”
Arthur hummed absentmindedly. “In terms of character, I think you’re a little worse. Don’t push it, young lady.”
With that, he sent me a nod and began to walk away. I took that as my sign to follow him without question, ignoring the baffled look on Agnrs‘ face.
She’d come here with the hopes of ruining my chances at getting the opportunity I’d been after. I was glad her plan had fallen into smithereens.
The hallways seemed to stretch all the way to the other side of the building. For his part, Arthur’s strides were carefully paces so I was able to keep up with them.
“The building we’re heading to is the west wing of the Arcane.” He pointed at another building a long distance away from us. “That right there is the south.”
I nodded thoughtfully, letting myself taking in the sight of the magnificent structures that seemed to spiral straight towards the sky.
I took note of a couple of other noted architectures, the statues that seemed to line every part of the school, and the shrubbery that had been carefully placed to give the school an
aesthetic aura.
“This school has seen a lot of times and generations. It is an establishment that can attest to the passage of so much time.” Arthur went on. “The walls of this school have stories that can rival that of your grandmothers.”
I didn’t bother disputing any of what he said. Truthfully, the school looked like it had been here for some time so what he said had a lot of meaning.

I stared at his back as we moved on. My mind trailed back to the conversation we’d had
with Agnrs. I’d expected him to at least listen to what she’d said but he hadn’t seemed keen on hearing any of her words.
A part of me wanted to ask why his relationship with Agnrs was so bad but I kept my lips
screwed shut.
Now was not the time. And even still, it was none of my business. Meddling in my teacher’s affairs wouldn’t seem good for me.
I let out a breath and started making recordings of what Arthur was saying. Maybe if I got back home, I could listen to it. It’d be helpful in understanding the history behind the many areas in the Royal Academy.
The recording had taken all my focus that I almost didn’t realize Arthur’s wolf was there until he let out a growl.
My whole body instinctively flinched back. I’d been so close to stepping on him. The only thing I could hear was the sound of my heart beating fast.
Arthur simply laughed. “Careful now. Don’t get to carried away and end up stepping on my poor wolf.”
