Chapter 54
Merhold had a smile on his face. “Congrats baby sis. You really worked hard for this, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of it than you.”
“Thank you.” I beamed.
“You really outdid yourself.” Greyven smiled. “I’m proud of you.”
“Nicely done, Adella.” Halven had a look of pride in his eyes.
Olavir turned from the paper and pulled me into a tight hug. He leaned close to my ear so the others might not hear him too well.
“Congratulations.” He whispered.
“Thank you.” My voice was just as low as his had been.
It felt weirdly genuine the way he’d reserved it just for my ears. I took the letter from his
outstretched hand and went through it again.
“It says here that there’s still a bit of time before school officially starts.” I said, re–reading
the line that held that clause.
“So you won’t be doing anything school related for now.” Halven noted. “That’s a lot of free time on your hand.”
“What will you do about it?” Merhold asked.
I remained silent, thinking of what I could possibly do to keep myself busy. I didn’t want to just spend my time lazing around the house just because I had servants at my beck and call. It just wasn’t me.
My dream is to create wealth, not to be a rich lady and waste resources.
“Well,” I started, “I can’t afford to waste my time just staying at home.”
Olavir quirked an eyebrow. “Do you have something in mind.”

“Yes.” I nodded. “I’m going to go out and look for some work.”
All my brothers looked surprised at the statement I’d just made. They turned to each other, wondering if I actually meant what I was saying.
“Work?” Olavir was the first to speak.
I nodded. “I can’t just stay at home doing nothing. I want to keep myself busy. Work sounds like a pretty good way to do that.”
I could see the invincible clocks working behind their heads. They were processing what I’d said, and were probably thinking of how they could help. Too bad, they had another thing coming.
Merhold stepped forward. “I think that’s a great idea, Adella.”
“Thank you.” I smiled. It was nice that he already agreed with me.”
“Of course,” he continued, “You could even go and renovate your property:”
“Or,” Greyven stepped forward, interrupting Merhold. “You can go on a shopping spree. I’d be happy to donate my card for this very important endeavour.”
Merhold glowered at him but I doubt Greyven even noticed. If he did, he was pretty good at ignoring it.
“Those sound really nice and all, but I think I’ll pass.” I said politely.
Halven’s eyes widened in excitement. “You could always come to a war zone with me.”
“A war zone?!” Everybody turned to him.
“Well, yeah.” Halven said excitedly, ignoring the looks of shock from almost everyone.
“That sounds like it’d be fun, but maybe in the future. I want to do something different for now.” I explained.
Halven nodded, taking my words in. Cyrus was the next to step forward. I’d almost forgotten he was even there because of how quiet he’d been all this time.

“You can always review the Royal Academy first.” He suggested. “What do you think about that?”
“I can come back at night and study. I want something that doesn’t just blend work and studies.” I said to him.
The only person who had yet to make a suggestion was Olavir. He looked like he was thinking hard on what to say.
When he finally thought of something good, his head snapped up to me. “I think it’d be a great idea if Adella goes to work. She’s proven herself to be efficient and well–skilled when it comes to that. I don’t think it’d be bad if we let her do something she wants.”
I smiled, secretly pleased that Olavir was in support of me doing what I wanted to do. I wanted to work, not do some random thing just to while away time.
“I think it’ll be great if you join the real estate industry.” Olavir suggested. “I think it’ll be very uplifting for you.”
I let the thought roll over my mind a couple of times. The real estate industry. It was something I’d thought of a couple of times. The idea didn’t sound so bad the more I thought
about it.
“I agree with Olavir.” Merhold added. “I’m also in favour of you going into the real estate industry. With your brains and wit, you’ll excel there with ease.”
I nodded my head, thinking about what level of real estate company I could get into. My past experience was good but I wondered if it would be enough for what I wanted to do.
But I don’t know why, but I think my brothers have a strange look on their faces. What kind of weird ‘surprise‘ do they have in store for me?
