Chapter 39
Of all the faces I was expecting to meet, it sure wasn’t him. Froste. He was standing there in all his handsome glory, a
bored look on his face.
My hand flew to my chest as I tried to take in deep steadying breaths. I hadn’t expected to see Froste at the selection. Judging by the pin on his shirt, he was most definitely an invigilator.]
I ducked into a corner just as his gaze flickered to where I’d been standing. I couldn’t let him see me. It was best I avoided anything that would lead to him begging for a conversation. []
Not here. That would be too embarrassing.
I peeked out my head again, unable to stop myself from looking at him. I knew he had a successful research career but I didn’t think it was this successful. If he was here at the student selection, then it must mean he was of high credibility.
Someone came up to him and his attention was diverted. Standing there, I couldn’t help but admire his appearance.]]
His tall, well–built figure basically gave off the air of an elite. Not to mention he was annoyingly handsome.]
I shook my head. I couldn’t let him distract me. My goals would be the only important thing to me from now. Nothing else.
I hurriedly entered another door, managing to escape Froste’s sight. It was the hall where the examination would be taking place.
I looked for a seat and took my place there, waiting for it to start. Everything I’d studied was still in my head and I wanted nothing more than to get to pouring it out. More people trickled into the exam hall and soon enough, the hall was filled with students, all ready to write the exam.[]
“Alright students.” The invigilator walked in. I let out a small sigh when I realized it wasn’t Froste.
“The examination will take place for the timeframe of 60 minutes. You are not to communicate with anybody during the course of this exam.“[
The exam papers were distributed through the halls. I picked it up and raked through all the questions. I hid the smirk that wanted to come to my face. []
It was all I’d studied. The invigilator looked around at the hall for a moment before shutting the door.
“All the best. Your time starts now.“]
I picked up my pencil and began to answer the questions. There were a couple of tricky questions that forced me to think really hard on them. All my gaze was focused on the paper before me so I never even raised my head once till I was done.]
“Times up!” I looked up to see the invigilator sporting a stern look on his face.]
He turned to his assistants and nodded. They all began to collect the papers. Some people who hadn’t finished in time tried pleading for more time but it was useless.]
I let out a breath and made my way out of the hall. One phase was done. All I could do was hope that my efforts would be enough. []
Chapter 39
The driver was already waiting outside the facility. I entered the car and we began making our way home.[]
By the time I got home, my brothers were already waiting for me. Merhold was the first to make his way to me.[]
“How did the exam go?” he asked.[]
“It went well.” I smiled.
“That’s lovely.” He had a grin on his face.
“All the best, Adella.” Halven said to me, a confident smirk on his face. []
“Good luck on the exam.” Greyven had a small smile on his face.
My cheeks warmed as I was smiling a lot. It felt good to be loved and my brothers never hesitated to make it known that they loved me.]

Later that night, I was in my bed, contemplating on the day’s events. The exam, Froste, and everything else that happened.
Without knowing, I let out a breath. My phone vibrated with an incoming message. When I read through it, my eyes nearly popped out of its socket. It was a message from Askhan. I passed the exam.
Before I realized it, I let out a squeal and jumped on my bed. I actually passed the exam. To say I was happy would be a big understatement. This was it. Slowly but steadily, I was getting closer to my goal.
Eventually, I drifted into a peaceful sleep, still holding the phone that read Askhan’s good news
ws.]
“We have to make sure it’s actually the best.” Olavir said, a sense of urgency in his tone.[]
I remained seated on a chair as my brothers went up and down, making arrangements for the next phase of the student selection. The interview.[]
“I’ve made calls for our seamstress to get to work on her gown.” Merhold explained.
He clapped his hands twice. Immediately, multiple lines of seamstresses filtered into the room, all of them holding different gowns.
