Chapter 22
“She’s not ready for this. Don’t push her.” He replied them in my place.]
“Don’t speak for her. Let her say her mind.”
“You’re not her fucking mouthpiece, Olavir.“[]
It sounded like they were all trying to speak at once. Olavir had a look of annoyance on his face as he glared at the phone.[]
“Well I’m the one with her right now so I think I know how she feels.” He retorted.[]
Sensing that this was about to cause an argument, I started to speak. “No. I’m ready. I…I’m just anxious to see my family. That’s why.”
Olavir turned to me, his face flashing briefly with concern. The men on the other side of the phone began to speak again.[]
“Well we’re happy to hear you’re coming home, Adella. We can’t wait to see you.” []
“I can’t wait to see you too.” I smiled.[]
“Alright. We’ll call when we arrive.” Olavir said into the phone before ending the call.]
He let out a sigh and turned to me. “They can be a handful, trust me.“[]
I forced a smile on my face despite the nerves eating away at him. What if they didn’t like me? What if they thought of me
me?]
as all those horrible things that were said during that livestream? What if that was how they saw me?
This was all still very new to me. Not to mention, I was dealing with a royal family. Would I be able to handle the relationship with my family?]
Askhan must have noticed my nervousness as he placed a hand on mine. I turned to him and noticed he had a soft look in his eyes.
“I know you’re worried about how things will play out.” He started. []
“Is it that obvious?” I smiled, though it didn’t reach my eyes.
His smile never wavered. “You’re going to be fine. Don’t be nervous. Your brothers love you more than you can even imagine. I know you’re going to get along really well with them.“]
This time, the smile on my face felt more natural. “Thank you.“[
Askhan’s gentle face reminded me of my past. Froste used to have the same look on his face whenever he’d protect me from being bullied. He’d comfort me with tenderness in his eyes. That soft look in his eyes was something I would never be able to forget.
Now, he didn’t even want to believe a word I said.
Froste remained frozen in the spot, unable to look away as he watched Adella leave with Askhan by her side.
Chapter 12
He was supposed to be the one standing beside her, not that glorified prince charming. The royal warrior that had pushed him away from Adella on Askhan’s orders turned to him. He had a harsh look on his face as he spoke.
“You hurt our princess. Stay away from her if you have any bit of guilt in your heart. The princess doesn’t want to see you anymore.”
With that, he left to join the rest of the warriors. Froste refused to believe what the warrior had said. He didn’t care if Adella had said it herself. [
He would fight tooth and nail if it meant he could win her heart back.]

“We’re here.”
Askhan stayed as the limousine entered the gates. I couldn’t help but marvel at the villa, unable to take my eyes off it. To say the place was beautiful would be the biggest understatement of the century.
As soon as the car stopped, Askhan was the first to get out of the car. Askhan came to my side and helped me with the door.
I mumbled a quick thanks to him and let him lead us to the villa. Haelor was already standing by the entrance. It seemed he’d been waiting for us.
“Well if isn’t our little entourage.” Askhan joked, his eyes fixed on Haelor. “Still following me and Adella wherever we go, huh? Just like when we were kids. Some habits never change.”
Haelor stared at Askhan blankly, not reacting to his taunts. He turned to me, his eyes softening immediately.
“I got you a present, Adella.“]]
Askhan’s eyes narrowed for a second before he turned to me as well. “What a coincidence. I got her a present too.“]
“I don’t think she’d need something from you. Your gifts are pathetic.” Haelor scoffed.
Askhan let out a mocking laugh. “That’s rich coming from you, Mister ‘I know how to charm a lady with my resting bitch face‘”
They were both glaring at each other as they continued to argue. I couldn’t help but laugh at their pettiness. To think these were the same men who could charm thousands of girls by just breathing air.
“You know what,” I stepped in between them. “Why don’t you both show me your gifts?”
They stopped arguing, seemingly agreeing on what I said. We all went into the villa, Haelor and Askhan occasionally sending each other glares.
