Chapter 14
Chapter 14
His mother had an innocent look on her face as she started to cry. It didn’t matter what I was going to say. He wouldn’t believe me.]]
Olavir wrenched his arm off me and pulled me to the side. “Are you okay?“]
I nodded my head, my hand still feeling sore. He turned back to look at Froste, anger written over his face.]
Without saying anything, he pulled out his phone and began playing a video. It was a recording of Hedy confessing to everything. Olavir had been recording the whole time.[]
The recording lays bare all the dirty secrets and Froste looks at his mother in shock as he looks at her with disbelief. He couldn’t believe that his mother was sabotaging his relationship with his Luna![]
Froste turned to look at me, remorse written in his eyes. []
“Sorry…..”
I looked away. I refused to hear his apologies. I would never forget the look of hatred on his face as he accused me of bullying his mother.
Froste didn’t trust me, he didn’t care about me either. I would have to accept that.
“We need to get going, Adella. Our brothers are waiting.“]
I nodded my head and let him lead me out of the house. We began making our way towards the plane. I couldn’t help the tightness in my chest.
Just as I got on the plane, I took one final glance back. Froste. He was staring at me, his eyes filled with tears though none would fall.]
Without another glance, I turned back to Olavir. []
The trip in the helicopter was mostly silent, save for occasional sigh that would leave Olavir’s lips. My gaze was fixed on the window as I stared at the clouds that filled the sky.
“Where are we going?” I asked after some time had passed.[]
Olavir let out a sigh. “We’re going to the nearest royal villa.”
I swallowed down as the weight of his words settled in. “Are we going to meet the rest of the family?” I asked.]
Olavir shook his head. “We’ll do that but not immediately. I’m taking you to meet your childhood friend.“[]
“I have a childhood friend?” []
“You sure do.” Olavir smiled. []
I remained silent, processing everything he’d just said. I had royal friends? Olavir must have noticed my curiosity as his eyes softened.

Chapter 14
“You were once Queen Luna’s favorite little girl, you know.” Olavir had a soft look in his eyes as he spoke.]
“Her arms used to be your exclusive seat. Not even Prince Alpha could snatch it from you.”
My lips pulled into a frown as I racked my head, trying to recall any memory I’d have of what he was saying. Nothing.
My head was blank. The frown deepened as some particularly ugly memories started to surface. Memories I’d been trying so hard to push down and forget as best as I could.[]
Olavir was still talking but I zoned out most of what he was saying. The only memories I had were of when I was still at the orphanage. When I had to work at the farm for pennies so I could barely scrape by.[]
I still remembered it. Their harsh words. The beatings. Trying to hide my wounds and wearing long sleeves to hide the scars. I still remembered all of it.]

“Finish up your work, you dirty brat.” The porter clicked her tongue before sauntering away.
I wiped at my eyes, trying to fight the tears away. I quickly picked up the rake. Working at the farm was the only way I’d be able to make any money to survive. I couldn’t ruin this.
I had moved to the pig sty, the exhaustion creeping into my bones when I heard an oddly familiar voice.]
“Well, if it isn’t the demon girl.” []
I felt my blood run cold. I didn’t need to turn back to know who it was. Jack. Ever since I’d come to the orphanage, he’d made it his mission to make my life a living hell. The scars that littered my body were enough of that.]
I snapped my head back, the cleaning tools falling from my hand. My whole body trembled as I dreaded what was to come.]
“Leave me alone.” My voice was barely above a whisper.[]
“Huh?” He narrowed his eyes, his tone filled with mockery. “What did you say, Demon?”
“I said leave me alone!” I didn’t know where the strength came from but I yelled back at him with full force.[]}
His friends stopped laughing, their eyes narrowed at me as well. Jack was staring at me with a look of pure hate on his
face.
“Looks like you haven’t learned your lesson quite yet.” He started walking towards me.]
