The crowd beneath the stage was in chaos, their furious cries rising and falling like waves in a storm. Someone grabbed rotten vegetables and eggs, hurling them wildly at Sharon on the
stage.
Sharon was a sight, her hair a chaotic tangle of greens, her face and clothes splattered with eggs, and her expression one of utter misery.
“Sharon! You’re a disgrace! Get out of showbiz for good!”
With nowhere to hide, Sharon was struck over and over.
Tears and snot streaked her face as she screamed her voice hoarse, “Eugene! Calvin! Help me! Get me off this stage!”
She lunged toward Eugene and Calvin, desperately reaching for their hands, but they shoved her away without a glance.
Sharon crumpled to the edge of the stage. A thin stream
the floor, her forehead crashing into of blood trickled down her face. She pressed her hand on her forehead, a fleeting look of despair crossing her eyes.
“H–How could you do this to me? I’m your sister!” she cried out.
Eugene’s gaze cut through her, his voice low and gravelly. “The instant you left because you couldn’t handle the tough times, you stopped being my sister.”
Calvin’s gaze was just as piercing, his voice taut with barely restrained anger. “Sharon, I was a fool to ever pity you because of the lies you told us about being abused. Because of you, I hurt Scarlett the woman I love more than anything. No one’s coming to save you this time. You’re on your own!”
Sharon’s cries grew more desperate and painful. She fell to her knees, reaching for their legs again, but they shoved her away without a second glance.
Her eyes were aflame with anger and resentment, her voice I’m a Swain! I’m your sister!”
ng “You can’t do this to me!
At that moment, Dwight and Celine led several people onto the stage. The instant their eyes landed on Sharon, their faces twisted with fury. They charged at her, throwing punches and shouting insults.
A woman in her middle years cried out, “You wicked woman! You killed my son and pinned it on someone else! Today, you’re going to pay! We’re putting you behind bars for what you’ve done!”
Sharon found herself surrounded as blows rained down from all sides. Her screams of pain. sliced through the chaos. Blood smeared her face, and her clothes were ripped apart.
Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded, “was wrong! I know I was wrong! Please, just let me go!”
But the crowd didn’t budge.
Desperate, she turned her tear–filled eyes to Eugene and Calvin, but they averted their gaze.
Their voices were cold as they spoke. “From now on, you’re on your own. We’re through with
you.”
It didn’t take long for the police to arrive at the scene.
An officer stepped forward and declared, “After a complete investigation, we’ve determined that the arson from three years ago was an intentional, malicious act carried out by Sharon Swain. With the additional charges now filed against her, we’re taking her into custody as the
law mandates.”
Eugene and Calvin stood frozen. The thought that Sharon was behind the fire that had claimed Scarlett’s life never once crossed their minds.
A deep wave of sorrow and regret swept through them, their bodies trembling slightly as they turned to face Renee. Their eyes were filled with guilt, heartache, and an unspoken sense of relief.
Thankfully, she had made it out and survived.
The show went on, and Renee returned to her position on the coach’s panel. Her eyes scanned the stage, calm and unaffected, as though nothing unusual had happened.
Ralph shifted slightly toward her, his voice soft. “Are you okay?”
Renee nodded and replied gently, “I’m fine.”
Ralph let out a breath of relief and drew her into his embrace, his voice soft and reassuring. These arms aren’t just for looks, you know. You can always rely on me.”
Renee stiffened, but then she gradually relaxed into his arms. Her face rested against his chest, silent tears slipping down her cheeks.
At the same time, the comments section exploded.
“Oh my gosh! Did the Golden Charmer just hug Renee? I’m totally behind this couple!”
“Help, I can’t handle this! The Golden Charmer is such a sweetheart! Renee, give the guy a chance already!”
The audience was swept up in the couple’s heartfelt moment, and the comments section quickly filled with an outpouring of love and excitement.
Eugene found himself lost in thought, his mind wandering back to the precious moments he’d shared with Scarlett. In those days, she had always asked him to hold her, her sweetness
making it impossible to say no.
Calvin felt a sudden, painful jolt as he watched the woman he loved fall into the arms of another man. His body trembled, and he took an stinctive step forward, only to he
restrained by the host.
“Gentlemen, please step down from the stage. We need to keep things moving along,” the host said politely.
Eugene and Calvin were led away, gazes still fixed on Renee, brimming with pain and unspoken yearning.
The rest of the show continued with a tense but steady pace, as Renee and the other coaches selected a few standout singers.
When Renee finally stepped off the stage, she discovered that news of Sharon’s imprisonment had already spread like wildfire across all the media outlets. Her suffering had finally come to
an end.
The Scarlett from three years ago had finally stopped crying in the dead of night, now that Renee had brought her the justice she deserved.
As Renee scrolled through the comments, she saw plenty of people pairing her up with Ralph. Her face flushed, and she quickly turned off her phone, not wanting to read anymore.
But as she turned around, she bumped right into a warm embrace.
“What’s going on? Are you blushing?” Ralph’s voice was low, playful, and laced with
amusement.
Renee’s face flushed a deep red, her words coming out in a quiet, flustered murmur. “W–Why are you still here?”
Ralph chuckled, his voice gentle. “Eamon and your parents think I should get a chance at winning you over. So, here I am, ready to send you home.”
Renee was about to refuse when two shaky voices came from behind her. “Scarlett… Is that really you?”
