Chapter 18
The moment Ralph finished speaking, the comments erupted in a rush
“Wow! Is the Golden Charmer finally being honest about his feelings? He didn’t turn around because neither did Renee! This is just too sweet
“Honestly, it’s so clear the Golden Charmer has feelings for Renee! I’m totally cheering for them now!”
“Anyone else notice how uncomfortable Sharon looks? Is she trying to get the Golden Charmer’s attention or something?”
Sharon stood on the stage, biting her lip, her eyes showing a mix of resentment and enrry. She couldn’t help but wish for a man like that herself, even though Ralph and Renee seemed to be perfect for each other.
“Seems like a man like him would only go for the daughter of the richest family,” she thought.
The host flashed a smile and handed the microphone to Renee. “Ms. Callahan, why didn’t you turn around? Sharon’s performance was pretty remarkable, don’t you think?”
Renee rose slowly, her gaze icy as it met Sharon’s
Her voice was soft but firm, each word carrying a weight that couldn’t be ignored as she replied, “Because the song is plagiarized.”
A wave of gasps and murmurs swept through the room.
Sharon’s face was drained of color, but she regained her composure immediately. Her eyes brimmed with tears, and her voice trembled with emotion.
“Ms. Callahan, how can you say something like that? This song is my own creation! I’ve always admired you. How could you accuse me of this?”
The comments section exploded in response.
“What’s going on? Plagiarism? Did Sharon really plagiarize Renee’s song?”
“Seriously? Didn’t Sharon get accused of plagiarizing someone else’s work before? Is she doing it again?”
“Come on, Renee’s from the wealthiest family. Why would she bother framing some no–name singer? Sounds like Sharon’s the one with the issue.”
Renee sneered, her voice calm and composed. “You’re claiming this is your original work? Fine. Let me show you who this song truly belongs to.”
She pulled out her phone and made a call..
A few minutes later, a staff member rushed onto the stage, handing a document to Renee. She Took it, flipped to a specific page, and held it up for the camera and the audience.
“This is the original draft of Stardust, with my signature and the date I wrote it. I penned this song three years ago,” she declared.
Sharon’s face drained of color, her lips quivering “T–This can’t be right. That song is clearly…
Her gaze locked onto Renee’s masked face.
Suddenly, her eyes widened, her voice faltering. “Are you…”
Below the stage, Eugene and Calvin seemed to grasp what was happening in unison. They shot to their feet, their eyes fixed on Renee, a mixture of disbelief and wild excitement flashing across their faces.
Renee’s cold gaze swept over Sharon, her voice unwavering and chilling. “Am I what? I’ve heard the rumors of you being accused of plagiarism, and how you fled the scene of an accident, leaving your sister, Scarlett, to take the blame. You stole her work, and now you’re trying to claim mine.”
The moment her words hit, the comments section exploded into chaos.
“Oh, right, it’s coming back to me now. Three years ago, Sharon was already fairly well- known, but then the whole city erupted with videos exposing her for stealing Scarlett’s work and framing her.
“That’s when her reputation took a hit. Even though those scandals were buried pretty
quickly, the Internet doesn’t forget something like that!”
“Yeah, I remember all the chaos. I saw that video when it first dropped. It sparked a firestorm around here!”
“Can you believe she’s still at it? She’s still stealing other people’s work.”
“Sharon needs to get out of showbiz for good! Someone like her has no business on that stage!
At th
moment, Eamon guided a middle–aged couple onto the stage.
The instant they laid eyes on Sharon, their emotions boiled over. They charged at her, pounding their fists against her.
“You’re a monster! A selfish, ungrateful brat! You left Eugene without a second thought because he didn’t have a dime to his name! Then, when you found out we were wealthy, you begged us to take you in!
“And after Eugene made it big with his business, you had the audacity to accuse us of abducting you, which got us locked up! We raised you as our own for years, and not once did

we ever mistreat you! You’re wicked!
The room erupted into chaos again.
Sharon’s face was drained of color. Her lips trembled as she stuttered out, “N–No… That’s not what happened… You’re lying!”
Eugene and Calvin couldn’t wait any longer. They bolted onto the stage.
Eugene seized Sharon by the shoulders, his voice unsteady, on the brink of falling apart. “Is it true? D–Did you leave on your own? You weren’t taken?”
He had devoted so much time to searching for her, blaming himself for losing her. And now, he was learning that she had left willingly. All this time, she had been nothing but ungrateful. He had even hurt Scarlett for someone like Sharon.
Tears welled up in Sharon’s eyes instantly, her voice raspy. “Eugene, please, just let me explain … it’s not what you think…”
Calvin fixed her with a cold stare, his voice rough and low. “Sharon, you’ve been deceiving us for years. You acted fragile and kind. You let Scarlett take the fall and made her suffer all that pain… H–How could you be so cruel?”
