Renée smiled, choosing to let the moment speak or itself.
Just then, the dressing room door swung open, and Dwight, Celine, and Eamon stepped inside. The Instant they did, their eyes went straight to Renee, their faces filled with concern.
“Are you ready, Renee? Feeling nervous at all?” Celine hurried over to her, her voice thick with
concern.
Dwight stayed close, his gaze gentle and full of affection. “Renee, If you’re tired, we can call it off. I’ll come up with something else for you to do.”
Eamon moved behind her and gave her shoulder reassuring pat, his voice warm and steady. Don’t be afraid, Renee. I’ve got your back. If anyone causes you trouble, I’ll be the first to step.
in.”
Renee glanced at them helplessly, offering a small smile. “Dad, Mom, Eamon, it’s just a show. You didn’t have to bring the whole family, let alone make such a big deal. I’m not a kid anymore.”
“To us, you’ll always be our little one. And we’ll keep spoiling you, just like we did when you were younger,” Celine responded without hesitation.
Dwight and Eamon nodded in unison, their faces reflecting firm agreement.
The others in the dressing room watched the scene, their eyes filled with envy.
“Wow, Ms. Callahan really has it all. I’d do anything to be part of the Callahan family,‘
someone murmured.
Renee let out a soft laugh. Her eyes drifted to the run sheet she held.
Suddenly, a name caught her eye–Sharon. Her gaze sharpened, and a faint, knowing smile
crossed her face.
Dwight, Celine, and Eamon followed her gaze and immediately saw the name. In an instant, their faces drained of color, eyes filled with a mix of anger and hurt.
“Renee, what’s she doing here?” Eamon’s voice was cold and solemn, laced with barely suppressed fury.
Celine gripped Renee’s hand, her voice thick with emotion. “Renee, after all these years of digging into your past, we’re finally seeing the full weight of what you’ve been through. We’ve wanted to make them pay for what they did to you, time and time again, but you always stopped us.
“You said that if it was meant to happen, you’d cross paths with them again and that justice would come when the time was right. So, tell me Has that time finally come?”
Dwight’s eyes were cold, his voice low. “Don’t wry, Rende Vll make sure he gets what’s
ing to her. If she’s bold enough to show up, he’d better be ready for what’s in store
Eamon sneered, his voice laced with contempt. She actually thinks showing up on this show is going to turn things around for her? How fool h. Don’t worry about It, Renee, I’ll make sure she regrets ever showing her face.”
Renee noticed their fierce protectiveness and couldn’t help but laugh, her tone laced with exasperation. “Dad, Mom, Eamon, take it easy. Don’t worry. I’ve got this.”
Dwight, Celine, and Eamon were on the verge of saying more when a staff member from the production crew rushed into the room, his voice urgent. “Ms. Callahan, we’re about to go live! Please get ready to go on stage!”
Renee stood with a small smile, smoothing the hem of her gown. “Got it. I’ll be there in a second.”
She turned to Dwight, Celine, and Eamon, her expression softening. “Dad, Mom, Eamon, I’m heading out on stage.”
With that, she turned and walked out of the dressing room, her steps graceful and confident, as though the world was hers for the taking.
As the stage lights flared to life, Renee glided onto the stage, her gown striking in its beauty. With each step, she seemed to pull at the audience’s heartstrings, stirring up waves of excitement.
The live viewership shot up when she appeared, rapidly crossing ten million within seconds.
“Wow! Renee’s finally here! I was really hoping she’d take off the mask today, but I guess we’ll just have to wait a bit longer.”
“Even with the mask on, you can tell Renee’s got an incredible figure. She’s got to be stunning!
“I’m not here for her looks. I came for her songs. Her voice is like something straight out of a dream.”
Of course, not everyone felt the same way.
“Pfft, she’s probably hiding her face because she’s hideous.”
But the moment that comment landed, it was quickly drowned out by a chorus of objections. from the crowd.
“What are you talking about? Renee has her reasons for wearing the mask. Who are you to judge?”
“Honestly, it’s her talent that matters. Whether she’s attractive or not doesn’t change a thing.
The comments flooded in, and the number of lige viewers shot up in no time. Backstage, the production team was pract leally beaming.
Rence stood at the center of the stage, her gaze sweeping over the crowd below, a subtle smile crossing her face, Gentle yet firm, her volce carried through the microphone, filling the broadcast studio.
“Hello, everyone. I’m Renee Callahan. It’s an honor to be here as a coach on Sing Beyond, and I’m excited to work with the incredible talent competing in this show.”
The crowd erupted in applause, their cheers echoing in the air. Renee gave a small nod of appreciation before turning to make her way to the coach’s panel.
But as she got closer, her steps faltered. The production team had mentioned there would be only three coaches. But now, a fourth figure was seated at the table.
The man was clad in a tailored black suit, his defined features giving off a sense of effortless, detached authority. It was Ralph Sorensen–the undeniable titan of the entertainment industry.
