Chapter 168
Raymond walked a bit slowly. He smiled and said to Vespera and Rebecca, “I made some ravioli. Do you two want to have some? It’s filled with mushrooms and beef. There are also some with snow crab leg filling. The ravioli is served with chicken soup, and the soup is quite
fresh.”
Vespera and Rebecca wanted to say that it was late and that they didn’t want to eat. It was only ravioli, after all, and they had something to discuss. But when they heard the ingredients used, they thought that they must give this ravioli a try
Vespera replied, “Actually, I’m really hungry.”
Rebecca echoed, “Let’s have some. It has been a long time since I last had ravioli. I miss it.”
“I made a lot. You can have more later.”
Raymond smiled like a kind father. He liked people who loved to eat. On the other hand, Dominic glanced at them like he was looking at two gluttonous women.
Dominic entered the elevator first, followed by Vespera and Rebecca. Raymond was the last to
enter.
Raymond pushed the button to their floor. As he chatted with Vespera and Rebecca, the atmosphere was harmonious.
On the highest floor, Raymond prepared the ravioli and served it on the dining table. Just by the fragrance alone, one could tell it was delicious.
Dominic pushed his serving to Vespera. “Didn’t you say you were very hungry? You can have
mine too.”
There was fondness and a hint of teasing in his voice. When Vespera heard that, she was speechless.
On the other hand, Rebecca shifted her gaze back and forth between the two. She couldn’t contain her smile. Seeing that Vespera didn’t speak up, Rebecca said, “Mr. Reid would rather starve himself and let you be full. Hurry up and eat.”
Vespera thought that Rebecca should stop overanalyzing things. She pushed the ravioli to the center of the table. “Becca, let’s share it. I can’t finish two servings.”
Rebecca felt frustrated. The two ate the ravioli with their heads down. The flavor was rich and savory. It was so good that they felt like their souls were about to float right out of their bodies. A bite of ravioli and a sip of soup was pure comfort.
Rebecca’s eyes welled up with tears as she ate. This is too good. This is the best ravioli I’ve

ever had in my life.”
Meanwhile, Vespera remained silent. She just kept her head down and ate silently. She ate in small bites, but she ate quickly. Rebecca always said she looked like a hamster when she ate.
Eventually, both of them were so full they had to lean on the wall for support when they
walked..
At this time, Raymond came out carrying two containers. “Take these homme and keep them in the freezer. They won’t taste quite as good after freezing as cating fresh is always better, but they’ll still be a lot better than the ones from the grocery store.”
Vespera and Rebecca were surprised. The ravioli Raymond gave them was a huge portion. They tried to act modest about it, but they quickly accepted them.
When they were about to get up and leave, Dominic suddenly said, “Ms. Snyder, what did you want to discuss with Ms. Gildon? Mind if I listen in too?”
Rebecca hesitated. “Uh, well…‘
Dominic asked, “Is it a secret?”
“No, that’s not it.” After hesitating for a while, Rebecca figured it might actually be better if Dominic knew.
She explained, “I went to the hospital today disguised as a nurse. I wanted to see if there was any way to dig up evidence that Tina was faking her illness or that the doctor had falsified records. But then, I overheard some nurses talking. They said that Tina was pregnant.”
Upon hearing that, Vespera fell silent, while Dominic just nodded as if he had just pieced something together.
Vespera asked, “What happened then?”
Rebecca continued, “I went and asked around. They said that the Munoz family has been visiting a lot lately. It seems that they’re discussing marriage.
“Technically, it has nothing to do with you, but if the two families form an alliance, won’t Luke go back on everything he said before? He and Tina are clearly on the same side now, and who knows wt kind of lies they’ll come up with? This isn’t good for you..
“Luke is such a scumbag! He used to go on and on about how much he regretted everything, how much he loved you, and how he would never choose Tina over you. He almost convinced me. It has only been a few days, but he’s already getting married.”
Rebecca was fuming, but Vespera remained calm. “His wedding and funeral have nothing to do with me.”
“What about Tina, then?” Rebecca pressed on. “Are you going to let her walk around smugly? Once they get married, it would be a miracle if they don’t target you in Halewick, unless…”
She turned to look at Dominic, completely disregarding whether Vespera might drop dead from a heart attack. “You marry Mr. Reid. The two of you can team up and drive those two insane!”
Vespera was left speechles
