“I had no choice. There was only fruit in the fridge,” Vespera answered.
Dominic’s expression relaxed, and he nodded in understanding.
Just when she thought he wasn’t going to eat anything, she heard him calling someone on the phone to send over ingredients for cooking.
⚫It was already late. She hadn’t expected him to be this hungry.
By the time the ingredients arrived and she finished cooking, it was already 11:00 pm.
Dominic happily ate everything she had made. Watching him enjoy his meal gave her a bit more confidence in her cooking skills. It felt like her food could even rival Raymond’s, or the best restaurant in town.
By 11:45 pm, she could barely keep her eyes open. She hadn’t slept well the night before and only managed to take a short nap that afternoon. Her eyelids grew heavier by the second.
As she headed upstairs, she saw Dominic enter the study. She was too tired to ask if he needed anything and just headed straight to her room. After a quick bath, she fell asleep almost instantly.
Around 2:00 am, Vespera was woken up by low grunting sounds next door. She shot up and flung her door open.
The master bedroom door was ajar, with light from the floor lamp spilling out. Not knowing what to expect, she pushed the door open and was met with a shocking sight.
Dominic stood there, furious. On the floor, Dahlia was crying nonstop in sheer white lingerie, her hair a mess. She looked helpless.
It didn’t ta
take long for Vespera to understand what had happened. She went to the bathroom, grabbed a towel, and draped it over Dahlia.
“How did you get in?” Vespera questioned her sternly.
Dahlia kept cry
refusing to speak, but Vespera knew she was acting on Jordan’s orders.
Being one of the bosses at the Bamboo Resort, sneaking
alia into their villa would have
been a piece of cake.
What Jordan had done was completely out of line
This plan would only have made sense if Dominic had agreed to bring Dahlia back with him. But he had made it clear he wasn’t interested, yet jordan refused to take the hint.
Jordan had pulled every trick in the book that night and failed each time. His last resort was to have Dahlia sneak into Dominic’s room.

Vespera was dumbfounded. Boneheaded Jordan must have assumed Dominic would take whoever was beside him while half–asleep, like some wild animal.
“Get her out of here!” Dominic waved his hand in disgust and turned his head aside.
Dahlia’s sobs turned into loud cries.
Vespera grabbed her arm and guided her to the door. At this point, Dahlia’s endless crying began to irritate her.
“Stop crying. You don’t need to act in front of me” Vespera sneered.
Dahlia looked into her eyes with a pitiful expression. “Please help me! If I go back like this, Mr. Aldridge will send me to those people,” she pleaded.
And what do you suggest I do?“,
played along.
At that, Dahlia clung to her arm like a lifeline. “I knew it! I knew you were just as kind as Serena. I’m sure you’re in a tough spot too since none of you are sleeping with your bosses willingly.
But if you help me this one time, when I become Mr. Reid’s lover, I’ll put in a good word for you. I promise I’ll listen to everything you say.”
Vespera went silent. It took everything in her not to slap her when she offered to “put in a good word” for her.
Gathering her thoughts, she stayed calm and continued to fish for more information. “That’s not a bad idea. But how should I help you? If I send you back, he’ll just throw you out again,
“No, it’ll work. I saw him drink that bottle of water. The drug hasn’t kicked in yet. Once it does, there’s no way he can hold back,” Dahlia said confidently, as if this wasn’t her first time.
Vespera’s heart skipped a beat, and her expression changed.
Before Dahlia could say another word, Vespera shoved her out the door. She glared at her coldly.
“Tell Aldridge he’s done for!” she snapped. “The Reid family won’t let this go easily. And as for you–good luck!”
Her sudden shift was too fast and too fierce. Dahlia was stunned, clearly not expecting it. She tried to go back inside.
“Please! Please don’t tell Mr. Reid!” she begged.
“Get lost!” Vespera slammed the door shut. She had no time to waste on a woman who was already this rotten at such a young age.
She rushed upstairs and into Dominic’s room.
Chapter 1hr
In the dark room, he sat on the black couch with his eyes closed. His slender fingers rested on his forehead, and his black robe was slightly open, revealing his chest. The robe’s belt looked like it was about to come undone.
Vespera was already out of breath from running, but her breath hitched when she saw how sexy he looked.
The air held a faint scent of cherry wine, and on his bedside table was the empty bottle of water. In that moment, everything clicked. The woman had left earlier to sneak into the villa and swap out his water.
She cursed under her breath at the situation they were in.
