Chapter 10 The End
“Scarlett, what can I do to make you forgive me? We weren’t like this before!
“You want another baby, right? I’ll give you one. I’ll give you as many as you want…”
He looked at me through his tears. For a moment, I caught a glimpse of genuine sadness in his eyes, but not for our relationship.
It was for his interests.
He was the type of man who would sacrifice his dignity, even his life, for personal gain.
I looked at William and smiled, cupping his face in my hands. “Of course! Our love is so strong, how could I not forgive you? Here’s the deal! Find me a baby exactly like my son, and I’ll forgive you. Remember, it has to be exactly the same!”
He rushed out immediately.
I didn’t know where he went, but given his state, he probably headed to the hospital morgue.
What he didn’t know was that I had already buried our child.
He wouldn’t find anything.
Two weeks passed, and William lost his mind.
He would stand outside the company every day, shouting that he was the Vice President, clutching a creepy doll, and telling everyone it was his child.
Ashley would come to watch him daily, sobbing the entire time.
Apparently, William spent a long time searching for a similar child, but not only did he fail to find an exact match, he was almost beaten to death by a parent who had just lost their child.
When he was taken to the hospital for treatment, he unexpectedly learned that he was genuinely infertile.
After realizing this had been his last chance to have a child, he completely broke down.
Refusing to accept this reality, he went everywhere for medical examinations, depleting his savings in the process.
But every diagnosis came back the same.
“Son! Won’t you come home with Mom?”
William shook his head.
“I’m waiting for my wife to finish work. My wife is the heiress of Heaven Group, her name is Scarlett.”
I glanced at William and took out the last photo I had taken of

our deceased child.
“Look, William. This was your child – your only child ever! He’s dead, killed by your own actions. Are you happy now?”
“Ah!”
William shoved me away like a madman and ran straight toward the
ocean.
William’s mother stood frozen in place.
I turned to Ashley and said, “Your family line deserves to end right here.”
“Scarlett! How dare you treat my son like this! You know he’s
kindhearted! He already feels guilty enough about losing the baby.”
I laughed. “He and Ava plotted to kill me and the baby. Kindhearted? What a joke!”
After William jumped into the ocean that day, he collided with a cruise ship and was caught in its propellers. Nothing was left of his body.
Ava, abandoned by her family after becoming paralyzed from the waist down, took her own life.
I sent Ashley to an infamous nursing home, where someone eventually pushed her off the building… ending her life.
