On the way back to the Luther residence, Darren leaned back in his seat, scrolling through online news. After Jeremy’s clarification statement was released yesterday, public opinion had been effectively controlled and reversed. After a day of fermentation, hardly anyone mentioned Natalie interfering in Vivian and Darren’s relationship anymore. Everyone was busy shipping Natalie and Jeremy. Darren wore a serious expression as he finished reading, feeling a bit unsettled.
‘Actually, Natalie could have simply told everyone she was my wife. But clearly, Jeremy’s statement was made with her tacit approval. This means she would rather let people ship Natalie and Jeremy than acknowledge that she had a relationship with me. Thinking of this realization, Darren found it hard to be happy.
‘I’m not someone to be ashamed of, but Natalie’s actions show her stance. She genuinely doesn’t want any connection with me after the divorce. She isn’t even willing to have our names mentioned together. She is going to great lengths to hide our once–close relationship. After understanding her mindset, he impulsively wanted to tell everyone, “I’m her husband, her only man.” But he held back. He couldn’t let his plans fall apart. As he thought about this, Darren set down his tablet and slowly pinched the bridge of his nose, speaking softly, “Send those troublemaking video bloggers over to the lady.”
Tony, who was driving, hesitated for a moment at his words. ‘Damn it, I heard that horrifying title again.‘ But since Mr. Luther had finally given up on sending him to Norldea to tend sheep, he didn’t dare to court disaster again. Tony replied quietly, “Okay, Mr. Luther, but if those people expose that Ms. Zavala is behind this, knowing the lady’s temperament, she definitely won’t let it go easily.”
Darren responded with a “mmh.” During this time, he had gained a deeper understanding of Natalie. He knew she was someone who held grudges, and if this matter wasn’t resolved to her satisfaction, she would probably keep it in her mind. So, he decided to send her a few punching bags. He said with little emotion, “I don’t intend to let her let it go, nor do I plan to protect Vivian.”
‘A disobedient slave needs to be beaten a few times before it will behave. Moreover, if this matter escalates, perhaps those hiding in the shadows will come out on their own, saving him the trouble of looking for them everywhere.’ As Darren thought of this, he suddenly asked, “How long has it been since we heard from Lucas?”
“Three months,” Tony frowned and said, “Mr. Luther, are you sure that guy is still alive?”
“I don’t know.” He flipped out his phone and toyed with it. “But we can’t take risks. Five years ago, I don’t want a repeat of the Luther family’s internal strife, so I’d rather grab the wrong person than let anyone slip away. Otherwise… ” Darren trailed off, a rare self–deprecating look in his eyes.
He coldly tugged at the corner of his mouth, “Go send Madam a punching bag.”

At this moment, in the Xavier family villa, the atmosphere was somber. Arthur looked at Natalie’s tense little face and softly comforted her, “Nat, it’s Arthur who didn’t handle things well.” He had sent people overnight to catch those bloggers who were spreading rumors about her being a mistress, but unexpectedly, they had arrived too late. The leading troublemakers had all been taken away beforehand. His sister was itching for revenge, waiting for him to bring those people back, but whe knew they had vanished without a trace. She was always one to repay grievances, and without finding the troublemakers or the mastermind behind it, how could she not be angry? Arthur understood this very well, and his attitude became increasingly sincere. “I’m sending people to chase them down. Don’t be upset.”
Just then, the doorbell rang.
