Chapter 137
“Turn them off?” Oscar was puzzled. “Why, Mr. Luther? We promised the audience a 24/7 livestream.”
Darren took a drag from his cigarette and slowly blew out a ring of smoke. Under the swirling white mist, his dark, deep eyes seemed even more piercing and chilling.
Oscar was still guessing. “Mr. Luther, are you concerned about being uncomfortable while showering? Don’t worry, there are no cameras in the bathroom…”
Darren chuckled, interrupting him. “Oscar”
I’m here.”
But Darren stayed silent; through the phone, his imposing presence spread, making Oscar’s scalp tingle.
He carefully chose his words. “Alright, Mr. Luther, the cameras will enter sleep mode in thirty minutes.”
Darren hung up the phone, catching sight of a faint glow reflected off the glass.
After finishing his cigarette, he returned to the room. Upon entering, he saw Natalie lying on the floor, seemingly asleep.
Darren gave a cold look at the camera in the room, then went into the bathroom.
A quick shower took only ten minutes. When he came out wrapped in a towel, he acted as if he hadn’t seen Natalie, lying down and turning off the light.
Seeing this, the online community couldn’t help but comment
[I see it now, these two have no chemistry! They don’t even acknowledge each other!]
[Yeah, our Nat doesn’t even fancy Mr. Luther. There’s not a spark of romance in that room!]
[Let’s be thankful they’re not fighting! Why ask for anything more?]
[Nothing exciting happening tonight, lights are off, I’m going to bed! Those who want to stay up, go ahead!]
Half an hour later, in the quiet room, the camera suddenly made a faint noise.
Darren then switched on the bedside lamp, got out of bed, and walked over to Natalie.
He stood there silently, looking down at her with an expressionless face. His gaze moved from her smooth forehead, past her delicate brows, over her slightly closed eyes, and finally rested on her full lips.
He couldn’t help but think about today’s kiss, her softness and sweetness, and that one special night.
Darren’s body was tense, feeling the warmth in his breath between his lips. He licked his lips and bent down, intending to carry her to the bed.
They were a married couple, and he was considering getting back together with her. How could he really let her sleep on the floor all night?
However, just as he was half a foot away, the person asleep on the floor suddenly spoke. “Darren?”
Darren paused his hand. “You’re not asleep?”
Natalie opened her eyes, sat up, still a bit sleepy, obviously woken up. “Do you need something?”

Her small face showed clear signs of sleepiness, with her droopy eyelids covering half of her dark eyes, giving her a soft and cuddly appearance. The dim light in the bedroom cast a gentle and warm glow over her.
Darren’s heart inexplicably calmed down, and even his voice had an unintentional gentleness. “Go sleep on the bed.”
Natalie thought for a moment and looked up at him. “I lost, so I should sleep on the floor.
Darren couldn’t help but chuckle softly at how serious she was,
He didn’t take that bet seriously at all. She was the one who insisted on playing, so he just humored her.
With this in mind, he slowly crouched down to meet her gaze.
Natalie’s soft hair was a bit messy from her nap.
She raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What are you doing?”
“To carry you to bed. Darren’s hand barely touched her arm before it was pushed away.
Natalie’s gaze became clearer. “Don’t touch me, I’m not going
Darren frowned, his tone firm. “You’re going whether you like it or not. Sleep on the floor, and you’ll regret it tomorrow.”
I’m still not going,” she said, her stance unwavering.
Darren stared at her for a moment, understanding what kind of mood she was in.
He thought about it, realizing that the last time he mentioned getting remarried, it wasn’t formal enough, and the timing was wrong. They hadn’t had a proper conversation, and her refusal was probably because she felt he didn’t value her. Usually, if someone dared to refuse him once, they wouldn’t get another chance. But since she had his child, he was willing to give her an additional opportunity. The quiet night was indeed more suitable for such a conversation.
As Darren pondered, he sat down on the floor across from her. “Alright, let’s talk.”
Natalie felt like she was seeing a ghost. Honestly, it was the first time since they had known each other that they talked calmly..
When she was his wife, she often wondered when Darren would stop being angry, stop criticizing, stop with the sarcasm, and simply talk to her like couples should, with warmth and tenderness. She never imagined that her three–year–long fantasy would only come true after their divorce. She found it kind of funny and couldn’t help but laugh.
Natalie was beautiful, and when she smiled, she looked even more stunning, with light dimples that seemed capable of making anyone fall completely in love.
Darren couldn’t help but smile along with her. “What are you thinking about that’s making you so happy?”
“Nothing.” Natalie shook her head slightly. “I’m tired, so let’s get to the point. What do you want to say?” She looked at him directly, her gaze steady.
Under her gaze, Darren unexpectedly felt a bit anxious about what he was going to say next.
It was really a minor issue, and he knew that if he seriously suggested getting back together, Natalie would surely agree. But there was something vague and uncertain, causing a subtle sense of unease within him.
He did his best to ignore that strange feeling and looked at her. Once this season’s show is over, I’ll take you to get remarried.”
Natalie immediately sat up straight. “Remarry? You and me?”

“Who else?” Darren noticed the strange tone in her voice, and his face turned a bit sour, but he still reminded her. “The last time I went to your house, I brought it up.”
Naturally, Natalie continued the conversation. “And you should remember that I refused you last time.”
Darren pressed his lips together, paused briefly, and then spoke in a deeper tone. “Natalie, stop this. Come back home”
Natalie looked up at him. “Do you think I’m joking with you by not getting remarried?”
Darren felt a bit uneasy under her gaze, an inexplicable anxiety softened his tone. “I understand you’re still upset, but what’s done is done. Let’s not dwell on it. I know you still have feelings for me, and we have a child together. Getting back together is the best choice for both you and the child.”
Natalie chuckled softly, “No need for that, it’s unnecessary.
The more indifferent she acted, the more uncertain he felt, which turned into suppressed anger. Clearly, Natalie should listen to him, oblige him like before. How could she change now?”
“Natalie!” Darren raised his voice. “Women need to know when to stop with the tantrums; going too far is just annoying. Without me, you won’t be better off. I’m doing this for your own good, so stop being ungrateful!”
“So what if Fm ungrateful?” Natalie raised her voice. ‘Darren, we’re divorced, remember? We should live our own separate lives. Who was the one that said we’d be strangers after the divorce, and who keeps appearing in front of me? Your persistent behavior makes me thin
She brushed her hair back, her eyes full of sarcasm. “Do you actually like me?
