Audrey’s eyes grew cold. After a moment, she sat down and said mockingly, “Ava, you’re just the same as before. You haven’t changed one bit.”
Just then, the waiter brought two drinks to the table.
Ava held her cup of milk in both hands and smirked indifferently. “So what? Audrey, are you jealous?”
“Jealous of you? Ava, what do you have that I would be jealous of? Your position as the adopted daughter of the Rosewood family? Or your status as a homewrecker?”
“Audrey!” Ava snapped, losing her composure. “Do you think you’re still the high–and–mighty lady? What do you even have to be proud of now?”
Audrey calmly looked up at her but said nothing.
As expected, she couldn’t keep up her act for long.
Ava’s face turned ugly, her fingers gripping the milk cup so tightly they turned white.
In the past, she was always overshadowed by Audrey.

Every time Ava saw Audrey basking in the spotlight, it drove her crazy with jealousy! That attention was supposed to be hers!
Luckily, fate was fair.

“Audrey, so what if you took him?
I can take him back just the same!”
“There’s ten million in this card,” Ava said, suppressing her emotions as she placed the card on the table. “I heard Beaumont Group lost several deals recently and took some heavy losses. This should help you stay afloat for a while.”
Audrey’s eyes darkened.
Last time, she had asked Theodore to stop targeting Beaumont Group, but the damage had already been done.

“I want you to divorce Theodore! If you agree, the ten million is yours, and I’ll even help restore your competition eligibility.”
Audrey narrowed her eyes slightly. “What if I don’t agree?”
It seemed Theodore hadn’t told Ava about the one–year agreement between them.
Otherwise, Ava wouldn’t be so desperate, offering ten million to make her divorce Theodore.
Ava scoffed. “You should know that even if I don’t give you this, Theodore will divorce you for me! If I were you, I’d be smart and agree to the divorce, or you’ll end up with nothing.
“As a friend, if you think ten million isn’t enough, name your price. As long as it’s not unreasonable, I can consider…”
“Alright.”

Ava hadn’t expected Audrey to agree so readily. She was about to smile when Audrey’s next words froze her in place.
“Five billion, and I’ll agree to divorce Theodore.”
“Five billion! Audrey, you… you’re crazy!” Ava shot to her feet.
Audrey smiled as she asked, “Weren’t you the one who told me to name a price? Why are you so worked up, Ms. Rosewood?”
Five billion was enough to buy two Beaumont Groups!
Ava met Audrey’s gaze. Even though her eyes were calm, for some reason, it was hard to breathe under her stare.
Ava took a deep breath, sat back down, and clenched her fists. “I can give you another five million, Audrey. Don’t push your luck!”
Fifteen million was already everything she had.
If it meant getting Audrey to divorce Theodore and becoming Mrs. Ainsworth, that amount was nothing!
“Then six billion, not a penny less.”
“You!” Ava couldn’t believe Audrey dared to raise the price even further. “You’re delusional!”
