nerves.
Audrey pursed her lips tightly, refusing to utter a word.
“Afraid he’ll hear you?” Theodore’s eyes were dark and menacing, like a predator ready to pounce and tear its prey apart. His cold fingertips moved slowly from the bite mark to her jaw, pinching it as he sneered, “Let’s see how long you can keep quiet, Audrey.”
Audrey’s mind buzzed with the words, a strong sense of déjà vu washing over her as she recalled the scene at the Ainsworth family dining room.

Theodore lowered his gaze, grasped her chin, and kissed her hard. His cool fingers skillfully traced her most sensitive spots, moving from her collarbone down to her lower abdomen.
Their bodies were pressed close together, the air around them thickening with heat and tension.

Her eyes were watery and red, the teardrop mole at the corner of her eye just visible. Her face was flushed, her expression both vulnerable and enchanting.
Is this how she seduced Percival?
The thought made Theodore’s eyes narrow. “What? Disappointed I hung up on him? Do you care about him that much? Don’t forget, Audrey, we’re still married!”
Audrey turned her head away, gritting her teeth. “Theodore, you’re a lunatic!”
“A lunatic?”
Theodore laughed coldly. “Then I’ll show you what a real lunatic

Audrey fought to free herself, twisting and turning, trying to push him away.

She had no choice but to endure, her chest heaving, her vision blurring as she looked into his deep, emotionless eyes.
They were filled with contempt, mockery, indifference–as if she were nothing more than a toy in his hands.
Why? Why did he keep treating her like this?

The sudden pain brought tears to her eyes.
Her bite was hard, and the taste of blood quickly filled her mouth. Theodore’s expression shifted as he released her, grabbing her jaw with urgency. “Audrey, have you lost your mind?”
