After leaving the prison, Audrey received a work call from Penelope. After ending the call, she stood by the car and looked apologetically at Caleb. “Caleb, I’m afraid I can’t…”
“Alright, no need to say anything.” Before Audrey could finish her sentence, Caleb interrupted her with a helpless tone. “Get in the car. I’ll take you to the design institute.”
Audrey bent over and sat in the front passenger seat. Through the rearview mirror, she watched as the prison gates became increasingly distant. Audrey pursed her lips, feeling unsettled after seeing her father. However, she couldn’t tell where this sense of unease came from.
“What are you thinking about? You look so preoccupied.” Caleb asked.
“Just thinking…” Audrey collected her thoughts and wanted to share her feelings with Caleb, but then she felt that it was baseless and voicing them would only make him worry. She changed the topic instead. “How are things in Beaumont Group? I actually wanted to call and ask you about it, but I forgot because the design institute suddenly assigned me on a business trip.”
In fact, she had been lying in a hospital bed for ten days due to gastric bleeding.

e you a hard time when
Audrey’s limbs stiffened imperceptibly.
Caleb’s words made her unexpectedly recall what happened that day.
But she quickly regained her composure and denied it. “No, he didn’t give me a hard time.”
Their Porsche stopped before a solid line at a traffic light.
“Audrey, every time you tell a lie, your expression becomes unnatural.” Caleb turned his head, looking at her seriously. “He didn’t give you a hard time. Then tell me, where is your wedding ring?”
Audrey froze and followed Caleb’s gaze to her left ring finger.
There was only a faint mark left on it, barely visible.
Seeing that she didn’t speak, Caleb also didn’t continue probing. He only asked, “What’s your plan?”
Audrey bit her lip and said, “Caleb, I want to move out.”
“Have you thought it through?”
Audrey nodded.

Therefore, she had to move out of Kingwood Villa, even if it was just to complete the competition smoothly.
“I didn’t mean to hide it from you and our dad. It’s just that when I saw him, I remembered how hard he tried to protect me two years ago and how he even set aside his pride to beg Sir Ainsworth for me. I just couldn’t bring myself to say it. I’m sorry, Caleb. I disappointed you all. Not only did I fail to help. our Beaumont Group, but I might also become a burden to you.”
“Audrey, you don’t have to put so much pressure on yourself. You should have some faith in me, alright? This is about your happiness. No matter what decision you make, we will always trust and support you.”
Caleb gently rubbed her head, smiling indulgently. He
continued, “Since you’ve decided to move out, have you found a place to live? You can also move back home.”
“I’ve already asked Violet to help me find a suitable one.”
Audrey paused for a moment, looking at Caleb’s profile. After a brief silence, she said, “Caleb, I will participate in the competition to earn prize money. I will strive to become someone who can stand on my own, someone who can help you and our dad. When the time comes, I will take both of you away from Kenston to a city where nobody knows us, and we can start afresh.”

To avoid trouble, Audrey had never revealed her true identity. as the Beaumont family heiress to her colleagues at the design institute.
Caleb could only drop her off two hundred yards away from the design institute.
Under the scorching sun, Audrey walked for nearly five minutes. before reaching the entrance of the design institute. However, before she could step onto the stairs, she saw Penelope walking towards her with a file bag in her hand.
“Audrey, hurry, take this document and deliver it to the Accounting Department on the second floor of Building B of Ains Group. Give it to the manager there.” Without waiting for Audrey’s reaction, Penelope stuffed the file bag into her arms.
“Ains Group?” Audrey instinctively resisted. “Ms. Whitmore, can’t someone else deliver this? I…”
“No.” Penelope decisively refused.

Penelope shook her head, also wearing a puzzled expression. “The call went directly to Mr. Madison. I have no idea, but these are just some size drawings. It doesn’t even count as important documents. Audrey, did you offend someone?”
If she hadn’t offended anyone, why would they specifically request her to deliver such an insignificant document personally? Clearly, it was a trap.
Naturally, this thought also occurred to Audrey, but…
Who could it be? Theodore?
