Chapter 33 Pro
ing Theodore

For a moment, everyone who passed by stopped and looked at Audrey.
The members of the Second Group also showed great interest and said sarcastically, “Rachel, be careful if you don’t have any evidence! Ms. Beaumont might sue you for defamation!”
“Defamation? You can ask her yourself if what I said is true!” Rachel sneered with a triumphant look on her face. “Audrey, why aren’t you speaking? They’re all waiting for you to refute me!”
A sense of dread came to Audrey’s heart as she faced Rachel’s questioning, making it difficult for her to speak.
“You see that? What I said is the truth! She doesn’t dare to argue with me…”
“Are you done?”
Theodore’s voice abruptly cut off Rachel’s words. His deep gaze swept over the people present, finally resting on Audrey, who remained silent.
Rachel was taken aback by his chilling aura and faltered in her speech.
Ava squinted her eyes and gently consoled Audrey, “Audrey,

don’t let their words bother you. No matter what others say, I believe in you.”
As she spoke, she reached out to pat Audrey’s shoulder.

However, Audrey instinctively evaded her touch, causing Ava’s hand to grasp nothing but air. A fake smile barely hung on her face.
“I still have work to do. So, I have to go.”
Without looking back, Audrey walked out. However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that her steps were hurried as she left.
Once Audrey left, the crowd naturally dispersed. Although Rachel felt unwilling, she didn’t dare to say anything further under the presence of Theodore and Ava. She followed the rest of the Second Group and quickly left.
“Theodore, let’s check out the exhibition hall ahead.”
Ava glanced at Theodore’s expression.
Although his face remained expressionless, she could feel that his mood became significantly low after Audrey left.
The more easily a woman can influence a man’s emotions, the more that man must care about that woman.
A flicker of darkness passed through Ava’s eyes, but it vanished in an instant. She took hold of Theodore’s arm and casually sighed, “I’m actually quite surprised that Audrey is participating

in the competition.

“After all, since the incident w…. the suicide, she hasn’t participated in any competitions. But now that she’s willing to join, it means she has moved on. I’m truly happy for her. With her design skills, she will definitely win an award.
“However, it is true that Audrey copied someone else’s design. This competition will draw a lot of attention, and if she wins, people will surely dig into her past. When people knew her past, I’m afraid…”
But halfway through her sentence, Ava intentionally paused and changed the topic, saying, “Perhaps I’m thinking too much.”
At night, when Theodore returned to the Kingwood Villa, Hazel looked surprised to see him.
“Mr. Ainsworth, you’re back! Have you had dinner?” She glanced at the empty dining table and said, “Shall I cook something for you?”
“No need.” Theodore scanned the living room and commanded in a cold tone, “Hazel, you can go home and rest tonight. Come back tomorrow morning.”
Hazel was taken aback and thought of Audrey just being discharged from the hospital today. She said, “But Mrs. Ainsworth…”

Theodore looked at her with a cold gaze, frightening Hazel to stop immediately.
Soon after, the sound of Hazel leaving echoed from the front door.

Theodore glanced at the closed bedroom door on the second floor, feeling restless. The investigation results that Maxwell had reported that afternoon resurfaced in his mind.
“Mr. Ainsworth, it is indeed true that the design draft for which Ms. Beaumont won an award was identical to her roommate’s. During the investigation, Ms. Beaumont admitted that the design draft wasn’t hers, so the judging panel disqualified her.
“As for Ms. Beaumont’s roommate, she survived the fall from the third floor when she hit the sunshade on the first floor. Although she survived, she suffered mental illness and became disabled, confined to a wheelchair for life.”
“Hazel, where did you put the medicine?” As Audrey descended from the second floor, she looked towards the living room.
However, she didn’t expect her eyes to meet Theodore’s gaze.
Audrey froze.
“What medicine? Are you sick?” Theodore’s mind flashed, suddenly recalling the image of Audrey pale and leaning on the bar counter when he left ten days ago.
Could she have really been feeling unwell at that time?

“No, you heard it wrong.” Audrey tightened her grip on the railing, remembering his ac ion of her “faking illness.”

Not seeing Hazel, she thought of going back to their bedroom to look. But just as she turned around, her wrist was firmly grabbed.
Audrey instinctively tried to retract her hand.
“Audrey, are you afraid of me?” Theodore noticed the fleeting panic in her eyes and felt a surge of frustration. “Or is this another way for you to get my attention?”
She had grown numb to such words.
But today, she suddenly didn’t want to hear them anymore. With a jerk, she pulled her hand back forcefully and calmly said, “Theodore, rest assured. I won’t bother you anymore. The wishes I expressed to you and Ava at the exhibition were genuine.”
Theodore’s narrowed eyes were cold and dangerous.
“If you don’t believe me, I can say it again,” Audrey said. She sneered, looking at Theodore, and repeated each word slowly, “Theodore, I wish you and Ava eternal happiness…”
Theodore’s face darkened, and he grabbed Audrey, trapping her between him and the railing. “Audrey, do you want to provoke
me?”
