At the groundbreaking ceremony of Carol Tower, Ava looked at the phone screen after ending the call with Theodore, her eyebrows lightly furrowed as she pursed her lips.

A news headline suddenly popped up. “Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Gareth Miller, Arrested this Morning for Bribery and Suspected Rape.”
Below the title was a photo of Gareth with a swollen face being escorted by the police from the hospital.
The hairstylist who was styling Ava’s hair caught sight of the news and exclaimed angrily, “This scum deserves to be arrested!”
Ava stared at the photo with a gloomy expression, recalling yesterday when Theodore had initially promised to send her home after the dinner but suddenly changed his mind, claiming to have something to attend to, and instructed Maxwell to take her instead.
With that in mind and Theodore’s hesitant tone on the phone earlier, Ava suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis.
A woman’s intuition told her that Theodore’s abnormal behavior must be related to Audrey.

Ava quickly composed herself and looked at Grace through the mirror in front of her.

Looking at her, Ava felt a blur in her vision. After a moment, she softly recounted what had happened at the dinner with Audrey and the phone conversation with Theodore just now, twisting the truth to portray herself as the victim who was publicly mocked and tormented by Audrey.
“Grace, I didn’t actually intend to compete with Audrey for Theodore. It’s just that the bond between Theodore and me is shallow. But when I told this to Audrey, she just refused to believe me. I… I don’t know what to do anymore.”

Audrey had been unconscious for nearly two days and had just awoken.
Sensing Violet’s gaze, she turned her head and looked at her with an indifferent expression. “Violet, I’m fine, really.”
Violet tried to say some comforting words but found herself feeling powerless. She couldn’t bring herself to speak.
“Audrey, let’s go on a trip after you’re discharged from the hospital, alright? Where would you like to go? Recently, it seems like many people are fond of Singapore. They say the scenery there is beautiful. I’ll check the flights and weather…”

Audrey took the phone and looked at the competition poster on the screen.
“I don’t know much about architectural design competitions, but I heard that this one is quite prestigious. Plus, it might help you get promoted. Also…”
