On the seventy–second floor, Maxwell knocked on the door of the CEO’s office and entered, placing the latest quarterly financial report on the desk. “Mr. Ainsworth, I’ve given the order. All suppliers in Kenston have declared they won’t work with Beaumont Group. In less than two weeks, Beaumont Group. will face massive penalties due to breach of contract.”
The expansive office was decorated in black and white, reflecting its owner’s cold and ruthless nature.
“Two weeks is too slow,” Theodore said coldly. Behind the desk, his expression was sharp and unreadable.
Maxwell responded, “I’ll make sure Beaumont Group’s partners speed things up. They’ll be forced to pay compensation for undelivered goods within a week.”
Theodore tossed his pen onto the desk, leaned back, and looked at Maxwell coldly. The pressure in the room became palpable.
“Three days,” Theodore said indifferently. “I don’t want to see anything related to Beaumont Group in three days.”
Sweat broke out on Maxwell’s back. He nodded respectfully.

“Understood, Mr. Ainsworth.”
Theodore asked, “Where’s Audrey?”
“Mrs…” Maxwell stiffened under

and quickly corrected himself, “Macaumont has been on a business trip to Bainbridge this past week. She returned two hours ago and went to the Beaumont Villa.”

Theodore’s eyes narrowed. They were grim and dangerous. He said, “I thought she wasn’t planning to set foot in the Beaumont Villa ever again.”
Maxwell said, “With Beaumont Group facing one blow after another and Caleb reportedly not eating or drinking for several days, Ms. Beaumont must have returned after hearing about his condition.”
Theodore shot Maxwell a cold glance. He said, “I don’t care about how she is.”
Maxwell immediately realized his mistake. Theodore was clearly displeased with his unnecessary explanation.
Tensing his jaw, Maxwell lowered his eyes. His phone buzzed. He glanced at the message from his staff and hesitated.
“What is it?” Theodore’s sharp eye caught the brief flicker of hesitation.
Maxwell hesitated before replying, “Mr. Ainsworth, Ms. Beaumont is downstairs. She wishes to see you.”

Stress
Theodore’s expression darkened almost instantly. “Send her away!”
At the first–floor lobby of the Ains Group, Maxwell said to Audrey, “Mrs. Ainsworth, Mr. Ain h is unavailable
today. Please, return home.” His tone was polite but firm, hist expression impassive.
Audrey glanced at the two bodyguards standing behind Maxwell. She pressed her lips before she responded, “Alright, then. Please pass along a message to Theodore for me. I’ll be waiting for him tonight at Kingwood Villa.”
Without waiting for Maxwell’s acknowledgment, Audrey turned and walked out of Ains Group.
The midday sun was blindingly hot. Audrey looked up as a Bentley approached from a distance, stopping about 100 feet
away.
Ava stepped out of the car and, upon seeing Audrey, walked over with her usual soft and gentle demeanor. “Ms. Beaumont, what a coincidence. I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Glancing at the lunchbox in her hand, Ava smiled and added, “Theodore mentioned a few days ago that he was craving my cooking. I had some free time today, so I made something to bring over. Are you here to see Theodore? Is there something you need?”
Ava’s casual attitude and composed manner could easily make

anyone believe she was the real Mrs. Ainsworth.
“Whom I come to see has nothing to do with you, Ms. Rosewood,” Audrey replied coldly, her eyes frosty. “If anyone should be asking questions, it sh be me.”
Audrey’s voice took on a sharp edge as she continued, “Ms. Rosewood, you went out of your way to bring lunch to my husband in the middle of the day. Anyone watching would have to admire your dedication as a mistress.”
Ava’s smile froze.
“Ms. Rosewood.” Maxwell appeared and saw Audrey. He was startled to find Audrey still there. But after a brief pause, he collected himself and turned to Ava. “Mr. Ainsworth knows you’re here. He asked me to bring you up.”
