A Dangerous Plan

The Crimson Fang war room was thick with tension as Draven loomed over the table, his hands splayed across a map of Onyx Dusk’s territory. His amber eyes flicked to Seraphine, who leaned casually against the far wall, her crescent mark glowing faintly in the dim light.

“You’re sure you can pull this off?” Draven growled, his voice laden with distrust.

Seraphine smirked, stepping forward with a feline grace. “You’ve seen what I can do. Do you really doubt me now?”

“You’ll understand if I’m not inclined to put my faith in the woman who tried to destroy everything I care about,” Draven snapped, his claws digging into the wood.

“Desperate times, brother,” Seraphine purred. “You’re running out of options, and you know it.”

Susan folded her arms, her sharp eyes narrowing. “We need precision, not theatrics. If you can’t get close to Malrik without giving yourself away, this is over before it starts.”

“Don’t insult me, Beta,” Seraphine retorted, her tone icy. “I can play Isla better than Isla herself, especially with this.” She traced her crescent mark, its glow intensifying. “This little trinket is more than just a disguise. It’s a connection to her power, her essence. Malrik won’t know the difference.”

Draven clenched his fists, his fury barely contained. “If you betray me, Seraphine—”

“Save the threats,” she interrupted, her smirk widening. “You’ll get your Luna back. And maybe you’ll even thank me for it.”

“Unlikely,” Draven growled.

The plan unfolded in grim detail. Seraphine would infiltrate Onyx Dusk, using her likeness to Isla to gain access to Malrik’s inner circle. She’d exploit his trust long enough to locate Isla and relay her position to Draven’s strike team.

“This is suicide,” Jamie muttered under his breath, earning a sharp glance from Susan.

Draven handed Seraphine one of Isla’s cloaks, his expression hard. “You’d better not fail.”

Seraphine draped the cloak over her shoulders, its silver embroidery catching the light. “Don’t worry, dear Alpha. I never fail when my own survival is on the line.”

As the meeting ended, Draven stopped her at the door, his voice low and filled with warning. “If you hurt her, I’ll make sure your death is slow.”

Seraphine turned, her smile razor-sharp. “Touching. But unnecessary”.
