The Pack’s Joy
The air in Crimson Fang territory vibrated with excitement, a rare energy that made even the hardened warriors smile. Word of Isla’s pregnancy had spread like wildfire, and the entire pack gathered in the courtyard outside the packhouse, their howls and cheers rising into the crisp morning air.
Draven stood on the steps, his imposing figure silhouetted against the light streaming from the great doors behind him. His usual steely expression was softened by a pride he couldn’t hide. Beside him, Susan folded her arms, a rare smile tugging at her lips. “You’ve done it now,” she said dryly. “The pack’s gone absolutely mad for those twins.”
“They deserve this,” Draven replied, his deep voice rumbling with quiet satisfaction. He glanced over his shoulder toward the packhouse doors. “And so does she.”
Inside, Isla was surrounded by a sea of faces, her silver hair shimmering like a beacon. Wolves of all ranks presented her with gifts—handwoven blankets, carved trinkets, and even baskets of wildflowers. Pups darted through the crowd, giggling as they tugged at her dress.
Micah hovered close, her sharp eyes scanning the room like a hawk. “Careful with the Luna,” she barked at a particularly enthusiastic warrior who nearly jostled Isla.
“Micah,” Isla laughed, gently resting a hand on the healer’s arm. “I’m fine. Really.”
Micah softened, though she didn’t back away. “You’re carrying more than heirs,” she said, her voice quiet but firm. “You’re carrying hope for this pack.”
Isla’s gaze swept the room, taking in the joy on every face. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, she felt truly at peace. The pack, her pack, was united not in battle, but in celebration.
When Draven stepped inside, the crowd parted instinctively, and his amber eyes locked onto Isla. Without hesitation, he crossed the room and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close.
He turned to address the pack, his voice carrying easily over the chatter. “Tonight, we celebrate our Luna,” he declared, his tone commanding and warm. “She’s given us everything—strength, hope, and a future. And tomorrow, we’ll fight for what she’s creating.”
A deafening cheer erupted, the sound echoing into the night as the pack’s unity solidified around their Alpha and Luna.
