Chapter 52 Chapter 52
Ana’s words bruised my ego for a long time in a while, and it stung me in my chest.
“What’s the matter?” Fleur asked as he walked up to me.
“Why the long face?” He asked again, looking at Ana’s figure disappearing from the hall.
“It’s nothing.” I replied, arranging my shirt.
“Let’s go.”
“You don’t look like what happened there is nothing. Fleur said when the car was in motion.
“She’s pissed, even more pissed than the first time I saw her after three years and I can’t place a finger on the cause. I lamented bitterly. Typical Fleur would’ve said I told you so. But he looked at me with pity
“You see what I told you! You’re only going to chase her away with your relentless chase. You were cruel to her man, you treated her like a nobody for all those year. How do you think she’s going to react to you suddenly being all nice and cozy to her? You have to be realistic here man. He said his gaze on the road
Bold of me to think that he wasn’t going to tell me he told me so
I cleaned my face with my palm and released a sigh
Everything Fleur said was true and I deserved the attitude she dished out but I couldn’t hold myself. I couldn’t stop myself from going to see her whenever an opportunity presents itself.
And I couldn’t just fold my hands and watch her get taken away by another man
I didn’t reply Fleur so the drive home was silent. I got to the mansion to meet it empty, Veronica had gone out to God knows where. Probably her mother’s, wherever she went wasn’t my concern, provided she didn’t get in my way
I got to the room and was about to spend the rest of the day, sober when a thought came to mind.
It’s been a while since I last saw Grandma Mira and I didn’t know if she had healed completely. check up on her health so I got up from the bed and tapped on Fleur’s shoulder on my way out. “Up up, we go.” I said, walking out
was a courtesy to pay her visits occasionally to
“Oh come on! Where are we going again! You’re ending coffee time fo
for me again!” He whined but I walked to the car and sat there waiting for him.
He hopped into the car with a swollen face that I found amusing and he started the engine reluctantly.
“Beat it, Fleur,” I ordered but he shot me a glare.
“Where to?” He asked
“First, to the flower shop and Ana’s house next,” I said with a smile and Fleur looked shocked at my words,
“Ana’s house? Again” He looked like he saw a ghost.
“Relax, I’m not going to see hier. Just her grandmother. I’m sure she misses me. I said with a wink but he squeezed his face at this.
“You never learn, do your You’re so stubbo” He replied shaking his head.
We arrived at A’s mansion and I told Fleur to wait in the car for me. Knocked on the door and it was opened up by Terry again
Doesn’t he stay in his own house for Pete’s sake? Why does he have to be here whenever I come! Blocking my chance with Ana even more.
He looked at me with a cold expression but I tipped off an imaginary hat at him with a smile.
“Who’s there?” I heard Ana’s voice echoing from the sitting room
Terry opened the door with a look of irritation but I smiled at him in retur
“Ah, Grandma, it’s nice to see you again. Please forgive me for not coming all this while I uid, walking to Grandma Mira to place a kiss on her checks and hand her the flowers but she sat there stiff.

Chapter 52
“What’s wrong ma’am?” I asked, noting the change her attitude towards me.
Did someone provoke her before I came in or was something going on before I came in?
“Did something happen?” I asked, looking at Terry and Ana who folded her hands.
“Is there something that happens around here that doesn’t involve you!” Terry replied and I let out a sigh.
Does it always have to be Terry who replies to my words? He knew how to get on my nerves.
“What are you even talking about?” I asked with a groan.
“Since the billionaire doesn’t understand my words, I’m going to break it down for you
“Your fiance, Veronica sent someone to compromise one of the dishes Ana made for the conference. Terry said with anger in his voice and I looked at him with surprise.
“What do you mean to compromise the dish?” I asked again, my mind going through thoughts of how everyone complimented the dishes that were served at the conference. No one complained about any of them so what was Terry talking about?
I looked at the faces of the two w
women but the
there was no atom of softness in their gaze.
There was no need to doubt Terry’s words. Grandma Mira could have said something or called him back but she just sat there, saddened by his words.
Grandma Mira had always invited me to the mansion, any chance she got and her invitations and the way she treated me made me feel like I still had a shot since she still wanted me around but now, she didn’t even want to look at my face.
I knew that it was no joke or blab for Grandma Mira not to cut him out.
“Are you finding it so hard to believe that your high and mighty fiance stooped so low to do something this irritating?” Terry asked with a scoff but I remained there, on the spot, looking so lost.
Veronica had done it yet again, for the umpteenth time, she had disgraced me and I couldn’t even raise my head.
“She sent a man to the mansion to compromise the dish with excess salt while she came to my house at the same time. To talk ill about Ana and keep me from coming to see what was going on. She planned it all out with her mischievous team Terry said with anger, still bubbling inside him.
Although he was enraged, he wasn’t my problem. Ana and Grandma Mira were who mattered to me and as it stood, none of them wanted to even sel an eye on me
Every time I got closer to Ana, something had to come to spoil it and take me to the very beginning.
I just became the biggest shareholder in her new company and now,
this
“Veronica did that?” I found myself asking.
“Oh, I guess you didn’t know how evil she can be. He replied with a sneer.
“So much for your long lost love.” He said with a mocking tone but I ignored him.
He wasn’t the price my eyes were on. It was Ana and she was slipping from my hands by the day.
“I think it’s time for you to leave now.” She suddenly spoke and her words were firm and unapologetic.
“Yes, you should leave because your presence is causing chaos, Terry said gesturing to the door.
I looked at their faces one more time before walking out. My ex wife, Ana is not the person who chases me out of her house
