There was an intruder in the house. I rushed out of my room, but i granny and Moon, they were okay to my relief.

“What did the intruder sical if his or her aim wasn’t to harm ust” Granny asked.
1 had checked the entire mansion, but everything was perfectly okay.
I sighed. “I’ll report this incident to the police.” I said.
I called the police and reported the whole thing, they came to investigate.
“Usually, when an intruder comes to your house without taking anything, it could be they had committed a crime somewhere and while escaping. used your mansion to hide.
1 suggested Moon to sleep in granny’s room for the night.
At night, 1 couldn’t sleep. Thoughts of the intruder and the conference filled my head.
I decided to brush off thoughts of the intruder and focus on the conference happening tomorrow. I didn’t know when I drifted off to sleep.
I was awoken by the sound of the alarm. I jumped from the bed immediately and rushed to the bathroom.
The conference was happening today, I was very excited as this was my first contract in New York. I rummaged my wardrobe on what to wear. After much contemplation, I settled for a flowy, knee–length wrap dress, with a floral print and bell sleeves For shoes, I picked a black wedge.
1 applied a swipe of lip gloss and powdered my face a little. I was not a makeup girl, I consider it stressful. I hung my satin clutch bag and looked in the mirror, 1 looked good as expected.
1 walked downstairs, granny was already at the table with Moon.
Woah! Mummy, you look sooo beautiful.” He gasped.
“Thanks baby” I chuckled. pulling his cheeks.
“You’ve always being beautiful to me, child, today is no exception.” Granny said.
1 leaned forward and kissed her on both cheek, “thank you, granny.”

I bade granny and Moon goodbye and headed towards the venue of the conference. I reached the venue and parked my car
As I walked, I could feel people’s eyes on me. I ignored the looks and walked confidently. I looked around and things were already set. The van containing the dish wares and the preservation machine had already arrived.

“Let’s get the preservation machine to the catering venue.” I said,

I went to have a taste, lo and behold the salt was overwhelming. Then everything came to place, the intruder from yesterday was responsible for this. They didn’t come to steal anything because they aimed to mess with the soup. But why? I thought.
Who could have done this? My mind ran to Veronica, but I shook my head. I and her didn’t have any fights, only the little exchange at my party. Could be her mother! I thought. But I had put the woman in her place at the charity event so she would be keeping a low profile for now.
Then who? Who was it? That hated me this much that they wanted to ruin the conference.

I removed the potatoes and tasted the soup again, the excess salt had been reduced. This brought a smile to my face and the others.
“Since the food problem is solved, let’s go and get the remaining dish wares.” I said.

“Keep your emotions in check” I cautioned myself, but I couldn’t help but admire his features. His dark hair was slicked to the side, giving himn a boyish charm. His nose stood straight, and his thin pink lips were set in a straight line.
