Chapter 15
When I left the hospital, I drove to a
warehouse on the edge of town.
After Jason had the accident Sarah had been

had dominated the city and the fact that the
Sterling family were so focused on Jason, no
one was taking care of her.
They just thought the couple were fighting
again.
So, it had been easy for me to bail her out of
jail.
I knew the man leading the way, one of my father’s people.
He came forward, “Miss Lara, she’s inside.
How do you want to play this?”
I nodded, I walked over to the table with all
the props. I picked out a strange looking

Then, he said: “But, don’t let me find out if you do anything to hurt her.”
Then, he left.
He didn’t ask how I was.
He didn’t ask me why I didn’t go home for
three days, why I was so pale, why I was so
weak.
All he could think about was Sarah.
Chapter 16
Sarah was unrecognisable when she was
taken to the police station.
The Sterlings could use their influence to
make her time in there miserable.
She should be thanking me, I was giving her a
preview of her life.
I returned to Hong Kong, and went back to
my normal routine.
Maybe it had been too long, but when I came
back, Daisy didn’t recognise me, she didn’t
want to cuddle with me.
I heard that Jason had woken up, and he was
calm about being paralysed.
He only asked, “Where is she?”
