Chapter 40 

Katrina’s POV 

Marcos looked genuinely surprised when Silas stepped into the room, his eyes widening slightly. 

It seemed like he wasn’t expecting him to come here. 

This was the first time I had seen them both in the same room ever since the day of my kidnapping. The aura they both exuded made me weak. 

Marcos instantly stood straighter, fixing the shocked look on his face. 

He didn’t seem to have any haired directed towards Silas, which further confused me. 

I didn’t expect you to come here yourself,” Marcos said, his tone nocking. 

Silas glared at him with pure hatred, and I felt the tension in the air thicken.

It felt awkward standing between them both and I wondered if Matthew could feel it too. 

Realizing his hands were still on me, I instantly pushed him away from me, pushing him towards Silas. 

Matthew’s strong bravado seemed to weaken as he cowered before him. 

So, I wasn’t the only one who felt it 

I shifted my gaze between the two men, trying to piece together what had happened between them. 

It has been a few years since that had happened and it left Silas with a strong feeling of hatred for Marcos. And Marcos also thought that Silas had died.

embered Silas’s words the day he had taken me, a daughter for a daughter. 

So whatever this was, it had to do with his daughter and I’m thinking that Marcos had killed her. 

My stomach twisted at the thought. 

Wouldn’t Silas‘ daughter be my cousin and Marcos‘ niece? 

What was happening? 

Why would Marcos kill his niece? 

Knowing who he is, he probably did it for his sick entertainment 

“Stop trying to think, I can smell plastic burning from here,” Silas said suddenly, his gaze zeroing in on me, ignoring everything else. 

“What?” I stuttered, my mouth opening and closing with no words forming.

Chapter 40 

I knew how hard it was for him. 

Seeing his mortal enemy and not being able to do anything. 

Not that he couldn’t do anything, but he knew this was not the right time. 

I saw his hands clenching and unclenching by his sides. 

We weren’t sure how many of Marcos’s men were around here, but Silas didn’t come with many of his men. 

And I’m certain he wasn’t planning on confronting Marcos in such a manner. 

“How did you get here?” Silas asked and my eyes snapped back to his face. 

He seemed angry, and this time, the anger was directed at me. 

But why? 

1 got kidnapped how was it my fault- 

The realization hit me like a brick, and suddenly, my chest tightened. 

He had told me not to talk to anyone. 

He felt that I wouldn’t have been kidnapped if I listened to him. 

“I followed Matthew.” I said, my heart racing. 

“But I didn’t expect to see my father,” I instantly added, hoping it would ease up his anger. 

I only came here because Matthew wanted to get something; if I knew that Marcos was here, I wouldn’t have gone with him. 

“And why did you follow him?” Silas asked once more and I coughed nervously. 

He knew the reason and yet he wanted me to say i 

Why was I even feeling nervous? 

I wouldn’t have thought of it if he hadn’t left me because of that witch, so it was all his fault 

“I wanted to escape. See! I said it. This wouldn’t have happened you didn’t leave me all by myself. Your father is going to be here, and yet you went off with some hoe,” 

I finally snapped unable to hold it in. 

My chest heaved up and down as I panted and it felt good to finally let it out. 

I could feel Marcos staring at us both silently but I didn’t care. 

“You’re an idiot,” Silas snapped, his voice sharp 

My jaw dropped, the irritation in his tone making my blood boil. 

“Excuse me?” I shot back, fists clenching at my sides. 

“I didn’t know this was going to happen. If not I would have tried to escape sooner,” I said sarcastically, glaring at him. 

Silas’s eyes narrowed as he stared at me. He turned his attention to Matthew who had been standing between us. 

Chapter 40

In a flash, he grabbed Matthew’s neck, lifting him off the floor.

“So he touched you while dancing and took you to a room alone? Silas asked as if he didn’t know the answer, tightening his hold on Matthew’s neck 

It almost felt as if he cared, and I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks as I glanced at Silas. 

Was Silas jealous right now? Of Matthew? 

I could feel the warmth rising in the pit of my stomach when I dal a double take, my eyes zoning in on Silas‘ neck 

Something had caught my attention, the unmistakable smear of hpstick on his clothes.

What could he have been doing to get a lipstick stain? 

That much was obvious. 

“Who were you with?” I fumed as though I didn’t know the answer. 

That witch had gotten her lipstick smeared on his shirt and he had the nerve to come back with it? 

Silas’s face hardened as I felt anger bubbling inside me. 

“Are you kidding me?” I accused, throwing my hands up. 

“You were with another woman while I was getting kidnapped?” 

“Shut up.” Silas said coldly, his voice devoid of warmth. 

“Just shut your mouth. I don’t want to hear you talking anymore 

The air crackled with tension as 1 glared at him, my heart pounding in 

my chest. 

My chest heaved up and I bit the inside of my cheek to prevent myself from cussing at him. 

I still couldn’t forget what he had done to me in the car. 

And now he had gone to another woman with my panties in his pocket. Does he not get convicted? 

What kind of an asshole does that? 

If this is how he is in his fifties, I wonder what his twenties were like. 

I didn’t know which was crazier. 

The fact I was jealous that my uncle had been with another woman, or the fact I would let him fuck me if he wanted to. 

Marcos watched us, a sinister smile creeping onto his face. 

He finally spoke, cutting through the tension. 

“Things are interesting between you too,” 

Both Silas and I turned to him, Silas‘ brow coming up 

“I suggest an exchange.”

Marcos ignored the look on Silas‘ face as he kept talking.

What could he possibly be planning on using as an exchange? 

And I’m certain Silas wouldn’t want 

anything from him. 

Silas’s expression darkened, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. 

Despite that Marcos continued. 

“Since I killed your daughter, why don’t you take my
