Chapter 6
When Gisselle heard her name being called, she clearly panicked as they were up to something
mischievous.
“Don’t talk nonsense, do you have any evidence?” She still stubbornly insisted, asking me to present evidence.
Leonard pushed his glasses and said, “Yeah, it was me who forgot to backup and share the files with everyone, but what does this have to do with Gisselle?”
seems that Leonard wanted to keep Gisselle.
Unfortunately, he overlooked one crucial key detail.
I walked up to Gisselle, who was cowering behind Leonard in fear, seeking his help helplessly.
“Your permission level was not sufficient to see that document, how could you be the first one to know that the document was missing?”
Everyone started to recall the details and felt that something was off. She was indeed the first one to speak up and say that the files were missing.
Almost ironclad evidence.
Gisselle’s face turned pale as she forgot about this matter and couldn’t wait to come out and point
out my mistake.
How should I defend myself now?
She pulled Leonard’s sleeve, but to her surprise, he shrugged her off without leaving a trace.
Without giving everyone a chance to continue guessing, I took out a USB flash drive and plugged it into the computer, and started playing at maximum volume.
The content inside is Gisselle spreading rumors in the restroom that I was being financially supported by a wealthy man and spreading rumors about others having inappropriate
relationships.
It took me a full fifteen minutes to realize that she had almost talked about everyone in the
department.
Everyone’s face turned pale, and upon hearing the discussion about themselves, they all rolled. their eyes at Gisselle.
This woman was really a gossip.
Gisselle almost went crazy, screaming to come and turn off the content playing on my computer, but she was stopped by someone.

She became more and more frustrated as she listened, unable to accept the disdainful looks from the people around her.
After the recording finished playing, I stood up and said to Gisselle, “You have been spreading rumors about me behind my back, and I have known all along. I placed a recorder around you gather evidence.”

She rushed towards me, wanting to come up and hit me. The manager stood in front of her and angrily said, “When did I have another woman outside? None of us colleagues have offended you, yet you love to gossip like this, you gossipmonger.”
She just said in the recording that the manager and his ex–wife must have divorced because there is definitely another woman involved, and she even said she saw it with her own eyes.
When Gisselle was managed like this, she quickly defended herself by saying that it was fake and the recording was synthesized.
No one believed it at all, there were even voices from her close colleagues.
Seeing that no one believed her, she pointed at me angrily and said loudly, “She is real, she climbed
up the ladder with the help of a man. I saw it with my own eyes last time, in the parking lot, she got into a bald old man’s car!”
All eyes were focused on me as I retorted, “Adults are legally responsible for their words. Are you sure you saw it?”
She showed a malicious smile and took out her phone to display a photo.
I was sitting in the passenger seat above, next to a bald person.
Gisselle pulled Leonard over and asked for his help to look at the photos on her phone.
Leonard looked carefully and basically it was me; he looked at me with a complex expression.
If she had relied on that old man to be parachuted into the position of supervisor, it would indeed
make sense.
And like this, she couldn’t stay in the company anymore, right?
He said seriously, “The photo is real, Audrey. How do you explain this?”
I smiled and said nothing. Leonard had once again decided to use the news about Gisselle to kick me
The manager knew the truth and understood that it was Leonard and Gisselle who were against me here, wanting to see me handle it myself.
Everyone was eating melon seeds. Almost everyone knew about Leonard and me having a

seemingly broken–up romantic relationship. If we hadn’t broken up, wouldn’t this be a live scene of being cuckolded?
Today was a day of ups and downs for everyone in the Purchasing Department. It started with the scare of missing documents in the morning, followed by a sense of relief later on. However, things took a turn when Gisselle angrily scolded everyone in the department. And to top it all off, we accidentally overheard rumors about the new supervisor possibly being the mistress of a certain
executive.
It was really one wave after another.
“If it is fake, Gisselle, what will you do?”
I asked Gisselle without any guilt.
