Halfway through the classes of the day, I decided to use the restroom. As I walked into the hall, I saw a group of students staring at me in an unusual way.
Something about the way they stared at me made me feel suspicious. I knew something was wrong. I got to the restroom and froze when their eyes met mine.
“Long time no see, Isabel, Evelyn smirked as she walked towards me. Her eyes held so much hatred that it made me feel sick for a second.
“Evelyn.” I stuttered, and the sinister laugh from the minions around me filled the room. This was beginning to feel like a scene from a cliche TV show, but the hatred in her eyes proved it was not.
“What exactly do you want from me? I’ve done nothing wrong to deserve any of this, I demanded, and she yanked me by the hair just before I could stop her.
The pain that shot through my head had me crying out as I tried to fight back. Evelyn pushed me against the wall as her minions hit me one after the other as I fought for freedom.

and I saw Amelia standing at one corner of the restroom as she laughed; everything about the scene made my heart bleed.
Oh dear, Isabel, Evelyn mocked as she bent to my level.
“I warned you, Isabel, stay away from the princes. These people don’t want you as the Luna. I don’t want you to do the needful, I want you to kill yourself before the curse does,” she hissed, and I felt the red liquid roll from my nose down to my lips as I fought to stay awake.
“Let’s go!” she ordered as they walked away.
I heard my name before everywhere went dark. When I opened my eyes, I was in the hospital with a pipe connected to my nose and pains running through my body.
My eyes came into contact with Hayden, staring directly into my eyes with a worried expression.
Thank goodness nothing happened to you, he murmured with a sigh of relief, and my eyes wandered around the room as I tried to grasp everything.
“We found you unconscious outside the restroom, bleeding quite badly. I’m glad you’re fine,” he explained, and I didn’t know. what to say as tears rolled out of my eyes.
“Who did this?” he questioned, and I refused to say anything. The whole scenario kept playing in my head even as I lay there helplessly.
How do I even explain everything that has happened today? I got harmed by the people Leall my own family, and it hurts
- mc.
“You’ve been quiet the whole time,” he snapped me out of my thoughts, and I closed my eyes without saying anything else.
“Isabel,” he called, but he let it go when I didn’t respond. Hayden has always been the nice one between the both of them. Hector couldn’t care less about whatever happened to me.
It’s quite obvious anyway.
Hayden left the pack hospital after staying with me for a while. When I woke up, Yuna was by my side with tears stained on

“Oh my goodness, Isabel, I thought you wouldn’t open your eyes anymore,’ she exclaimed, and I chuckled, then sighed from the pain that shot through my waist..
“Who did this to you?” Yuna inquired curiously. She’s always been the type to throw questions.
“Yuna, I don’t want to talk about it, please,” I whispered, and she shook her head.
“You were almost beaten to death by people who want you dead and all you want to do is hide their identities?” she questioned.
I’m beginning to think Evelyn and Amelia have hands in what happened to you,” she stated, and I did not give her the reaction I knew she wanted to see.
The last thing I want is for Yuna to tell the Alphas about the identity of those who hurt me. Mom and Dad would blame me if anything happened to their favorite daughters, and my life might just get more complicated than it already is, I can’t
afford that
“Yuna, it was just an accident, I mumbled, and she scoffed bitterly.
“That’s not what the pack doctor said, he clearly said you were physically abused, she fumed angrily, and I rubbed my face.
“Promise me we won’t talk about this anymore?” 1 requested, and her eyes clouded with hurt as she looked away
I’m sorry, I just don’t want you to be a target in all of this, Yuna, I admitted, and she nodded, pulling me into her arms for a hug.
I was discharged from the hospital, and throughout the time I stayed there, my parents did not come over to see me, and neither did Evelyn or Amelia
Yuna’s parents did not approve of her visiting me and forbade her, so she stopped coming too.
Hayden came over to discharge me, and as we walked out together, I tried not to think about the fact that his brother wasn’t present here.
“You have been coming alone to see me,” I remarked, and he stared at me.
“Hector is busy with pack duties,” Hayden replied as he helped me get into the car.
“Hector does not like me. You don’t need to make excuses for him, you know,” I pointed out, and he sighed softly.
“I believe he would come around, Isabel. Focus on taking good care of yourself. You can move into the…” he began but didn’t
finish.
“I don’t want to move in with you guys,” I interrupted, and he looked like he wanted to say something, but let it slide
“Thank you,” I murmured under my breath, but he remained silent as he looked away.
The ride to our house was a quiet one. “Have a wonderful night’s rest,” Hayden wished before driving off.
As I walked into the house while holding my sling bag, my eyes met with Dad’s, who did not seem happy to see me. “You are back, he spat in disgust, and I just stared at my feet.
“What is she doing here, Father? Amelia’s voice reached my ears from behind as she walked into the house too at that
moment.
“I just got discharged from the hospital today… I stammered, playing with my fingers.

“Yes, we can see you just got discharged from the hospital. What use is that piece of information to us as a family, Isabel? my dad remarked with an uninterested look on his face.
“From the onset, all you have brought to us is nothing but shame he thundered, repeating those words that have done nothing but cause me pain ever since I got old enough to recognize them as my family.
“Father… I began, and his eyes burned with anger,
“Father? I don’t think I am capable of fathering a curse and a wolfless child like you, Isabell” he burst out angrily as he fixed his glasses properly on his face.
“What have I done wrong? It’s it’s not my fault that I don’t have a wolf. The moon goddess hurt me with a curse…” I started, but for the first time in years, I just couldn’t take it in anymore.
The pain was too much to swallow, Amelia stared at me and tucked some strands of her hair behind her ears.
“If you had listened to us from the onset, none of this would have happened. You don’t deserve to be mated to the Alpha princes, it’s either Evelyn or myself! Amelia declared, and my eyes moved over to my father’s, at least hoping he would say something in my defense, but he said nothing.
“I am your child. Father, I’m no different from Amelia and Evelyn… I began again.
“Oh yes, you are. I can’t believe you compare yourself to your sisters. They are strong, beautiful, and every man’s dream. They have a wolf, Isabel,” he retorted, and I could no longer hold back the tears that rolled out of my eyes.
“A father is supposed to protect his children…”
“I stopped thinking I had another child when you failed this family, Isabel. You will reject the mate bond with the Alpha princes and renew this family name when they get mated to Evelyn or Amelia, who are deserving of this, he commanded angrily
I can’t reject the mate bond. For the first time, I have another chance to live, Father. Maybe I will get to shift if the curse is broken…” I suggested hopefully.
“You can’t let her risk it, Father. What use will it be if she still ends up without a wolf?” Amelia challenged, and I watched Mom and Evelyn walk into the sitting room together,
They did not seem pleased that I was still alive, and that realization made me feel like dying.
“Father was just telling Isabel to leave the princes, and she clearly chose to be with them,” Amelia explained the situation as if I was ruining their beautiful family.
“Then she has chosen the path she wants to take. Isabel can no longer live in this house and try to control us,” Mom declared, and I stared at her in disbelief. Is she serious about what she just said?
“Mom…
“I have nowhere to go. I…
She stood up and walked over to me. “You have contributed nothing to our social status as your parents. We are now referred to as the parents of the cursed girl. At least, if you’re gone, we might just get lucky, it’s obvious you bring us bad luck,” she snarled, and I moved backwards.
“I will do the honours of throwing her things outside, Mother, Evelyn announced with a laugh.
“Mom, Dad, you can’t do this. You’re all I’ve got in this pack, I know no one else. Please!” For the first time in years, I begged them with tears in my eyes. Before, I didn’t want them to see my tears as a weakness.
“Leave our house, Isabel. You want the princes and still want a roof over your head?” Evelyn taunted, and Amelia laughed as

they tossed my belongings out into the open. I dropped to my knees, pleading with my parents, but they were unmoved.
The reality hit me when the front door slammed shut behind me. I stood outside, my clothes scattered on the ground, and as tears streamed down my face, I broke into sobs, as though my very life depended on it.
The presence of the princes should have brought me new hope, yet that hope was now becoming the reason I felt like ending it all.
I was without a wolf, without a home, and without anything to cling to for hope. Where do I go from here? I wondered. wiping away the tears that continued to flow.
This wasn’t the time for tears, I ne
