Chapter 48
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“You have been walking since we started the journey, my Luna. Maybe you should rest and try to get something into your stomach–food, water, anything to help you rest,” Gina suggested, and Yuna agreed.
“She has a point, you know. I know this whole thing is quite overwhelming for you, but the more you try to push past your limits, the more burned out you become,” Yuna explained, and Savannah turned to us.
“Hey, everything will be fine, I promise you, Savannah assured me, and I sighed tiredly.
“I just want to find out about my identity. If anything, I think that’ll help me feel better. It’ll answer the unanswered questions that have haunted me for all this while,” I muttered, and Yuna rubbed my back.
“I can’t help but wonder what’s running through Hayden’s mind. I believe Hector will come around, but Hades would be so hurt,” I continued, and they stared at me calmly.
“Come here,” Savannah beckoned to me, as she pulled me into a hug, and then pressed a kiss on my forehead.
“You ready to rest now?” she asked, and I nodded as we sat down to take a rest.
“What if we find something bigger than what we think we would find? Sunrest Field gives me the chills, and we ain’t even there yet. It’s crazy!” I blurted out my fear before I could stop myself.
“It’s high time you listen to the voice inside of you and face your fears. You are strong, fearless, and different, Isabel. If anything, that’s what should be in your head right now, not the Sunrest Field and what would be the outcome of tonight’s meeting,” Savannah commented, and I fell silent.
“She’s right, you know. You worry too much,” my wolf spoke to me in my head, and I looked away.
We stayed at a spot for a while. “You’ve been quiet since we got here,” I said to Yuna, who smiled in my direction, and then rubbed her face.
“I’ve been thinking a lot lately, Isabel. I thought about how we fell apart, Grandma Shu’s death, the endless fights between my parents, plus the debts my father owed.
“They seem to be piling up every day. It’s the biggest reason why Lisa resorted to threatening me. She knows how much I love my parents, and she knew I’d go out of my way to protect those I love…” She trailed off as her voice broke at the edge.
“Even if it means hurting those that didn’t wrong you in any way?” I asked.
“I was not thinking straight, Isa. Now, all I want to do is do the right thing. I want to change, if not for anyone, for myself and everything I stand for. I feel like I’m losing myself,” she answered, and I pulled her into my arms, and I rubbed her back trying to calm her down.
Somehow, I could feel her every emotion, bit by bit.
“I should give you space to rest,” she stated and excused me.
“Are you okay? I just saw Yuna crying,” Savannah revealed as she got close to me.
“I’m fine. Yuna has made some wrong decisions and she is just facing the harsh realities of it. She’d be fine. We should continue with the journey,” I said, and Savannah hummed and signaled the others so we could go ahead with the journey.
We were still heading towards Sunrest Field when Savannah gestured for us to stop walking.
“I asked curiously.

“I think I sense an unknown presence,” she declared, and Gina screamed when we noticed we were surrounded by some unknown creatures.
“Fuck!” Yuna screamed.

“What are they?” I asked and tried to move backward, but Yuna and Gina were right behind me, too scared to even come to the front. One wrong move, and I’ll be putting all their lives at risk.
“Don’t panic,” Savannah whispered as we stared at the ugly looking creatures.
It was so obvious that one wrong move and we’d all be dead. I felt energy burn from my insides, and the burning sensation graced my fingers again.
“Don’t come close to us!” I screamed, and watched the creatures burn to ash.
“Oh my goodness!” Savannah screamed as her eyes burned into mine.
“How did you do that?” Yuna asked. It was so obvious she was scared of the extent my powers could go. At this point, I was also scared about the things I was noticing about myself.
“We should head on with our journey because it’s going to get worse if we are still here at night,” Savannah said, and we all fell silent as we focused on our journey.
We got to the place where the map read to be Sunrest Field, and the whole place was just filled with trees with no particular village in sight.
“I thought the map read the Sunrest Field to be right here? In the heart of the forest?” Yuna asked curiously.
“Exactly, but I think we are in the wrong location,” Gina spoke weakly.
“No, I think they’ve cast a protection spell to hide the coven from outsiders,” Savannah said, I walked in front, then gestured for her to join me. We held hands, and I shut my eyes. When I opened them, Savannah nodded in my direction.
“I can feel the city. It’s just a cloaking spell,” she revealed, and I thought of what to do at this point.
“Stop right there!” we heard a voice at the borders that made us turn toward the direction.
It was a young guy, seemingly around my age, with pure white hair. Two arrows were stuck in the bag on his back, and with how ripped he looked, it was obvious he was a hunter.
“We came to visit the Sunrest Field. It’s obvious witches had a cloaking spell, so we can’t access the city,” I explained, and his eyes locked with ours.
“As you know, most people have problems with witches. We have to protect ourselves,” he remarked and waved his hands. My eyes widened, and I was pretty sure the others had the same expression on their faces as the city came into view. People were walking about their various businesses, and children were running around.
“I’m Kayden…” he trailed off as we walked inside together.
“Kayden, I’m Isabel, and these are my friends: Yuna, Gina, and Savannah,” I introduced, to which he smiled in their direction.
I couldn’t help but notice how his eyes lingered on Savannah for a moment before he pulled them away.
“Fine, and if I may ask, what brings you to our coven?” he asked curiously.
“I’m connected to this place. I can’t explain. I just need answers because I’ve lived such a bitter life,” I revealed as my eyes

“I believe you should meet Celestina,” he suggested, and Savannah raised her eyebrows.
“There’s a Celestina? I thought it was just Celeste! Can someone explain this to me before I lose my mind?” Savannah blurted before she could stop herself.
“Are you always this impatient?” he asked mockingly.
“Excuse me?” she snapped at Kayden.
“You are excused, Savannah,” he replied, and I smiled at their banter.
“Kayden, Savannah, this is not the time to exchange words. If anything, I just want to get answers. We’ve never heard anything about Celestina. All we’ve heard is Celeste,” I stated, and Kayden rubbed his forehead.
“Celeste is not really a name most people love to hear around here, considering the things she did in the past,” Kayden explained as he led us into the pack.
“I thought she was a superhero to the witches. I mean, didn’t she stand against all odds for your coven? Cursing the Royal brothers and going all out of her way, causing her death?” Savannah asked.
“Reasons you need to meet with her twin sister, Celestina. Not everyone knew they were twins. Somehow, she always found herself in Céleste’s shadow. No matter how hard she fought to have her own identity, Celeste was the strongest witch in history,” Kayden explained, and I stared at him calmly.
“And you are?” Yuna inquired.
“We’ll have this conversation later. Welcome to the palace,” he announced as he led us into a mansion built with strong wood.
“Kayden, who are these people?” an older woman asked as she walked toward us and waved her hands.
“Members of the Moonstone Pack,” she answered, her eyes glaring at us.
“We have not come to cause trouble, my lady. If anything, we have come to seek answers. I am one of you,” I said, and bowed before her.
“I sense witch blood,” she noted as she held my hands lovingly.
“It’s so strong, something I haven’t felt in years, not since we lost.” she trailed off, and at that moment, I knew she was talking about Celeste.
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
Viktor walked into his office and froze when his eyes met Evelyn’s figure standing in his office.
“What are you doing here?” he demanded, and she smirked.
“Oh, Elder Viktor, you don’t sound so happy to see me. It’s like I’ve done something to offend you,” she taunted mockingly.
“I don’t have time for your games, Evelyn. Why are you here?” he questioned sharply, and she sighed.
“Is it bad if I try to become an acquaintance? It hurts me that you would look at me and find me not interesting enough,” she remarked with a mock pout.
“Get to the point,” he snapped impatiently.
“I know about your affair with my younger sister,” she revealed as she cat–walked toward him, her fingers teasing the buttons of his shirt. Viktor was stunned by her words but struggled to keep his composure.

“Don’t deny it, Viktor. We’re both adults,” she declared, and he brushed her fingers away from his shirt. After all, he had learned his lessons from his affair with Amelia.
“What do you want?” he asked, rubbing his forehead.
“I want you on my team…” she began, her voice trailing off.
“That’s not possible,” Viktor rejected immediately.
“Why isn’t it possible, Viktor?” she snapped, anger lacing her voice.
“It’s not possible because I’m not going to play a game of sleeping with two immature girls, first Amelia, now you?” he questioned incredulously.
“You should have thought about that before messing with my younger sister. If I don’t get what I want, it won’t just be the Alpha princes, I’ll make sure to air your dirty linens in public,” she threatened venomously. Viktor’s phone rang before he could respond.
“Hello? What?” he exclaimed, his voice rising at the other end of the call.
“Is everything okay?” Evelyn asked curiously.
“Jenna is dead,” Viktor announced, his voice heavy.
