Chapter 47
HECTOR’S POINT OF VIEW
I feel bad about the whole fight with Isabel and the fact that she left my room crying, but then, the deed has already been done. All I can do is try to reach out to her and apologize.
I was still in my room when Aunt Lucia came in. “Aunt,” I called as we exchanged cheek kisses.
“Did you meet up with Jena?” she inquired, and I hummed a ‘yes
“Yes, I met with Jena, and I’m overwhelmed by everything she mentioned. At this point, I don’t know the next step to take,” I confessed, and her eyes softened in my direction.
“I know how hard it must be for you to come to terms with the fact that Isabel bears a lot more than her curse. But that is the truth. You and your brother must be careful,” Aunt advised, and I nodded.
“It doesn’t change the fact that I hurt Isabel…” I trailed off.
“Hurting Isabel is bound to happen when you have the good deed of the pack at heart. You love the pack, and you want the pack to move forward. All you have to do at this point is be yourself, you are the one who thinks with his head and not his heart; that’s who you’ve always been, son,” she assured, and I swallowed down nothing.
“I don’t know what to do anymore,” I revealed, and she hugged me.
“Your brother would come around,” she comforted before breaking the hug.
“You need to meet up with Jena again. I believe you both have a lot to talk about, especially regarding making sure the pack is safe,” she encouraged, and I sighed.
“Have a lovely night, rest, son,” she murmured before making her way out of my room.
It was still early in the evening when I left the pack house.
“Jena’s cave,” I instructed the driver, as he drove toward the direction to her cave. “We have arrived,” he announced, and I pushed the door open, then proceeded out of the car to meet up with Jena.
“Told you, you’d come back,” she greeted while smirking in my direction.
“You didn’t give me what I needed to hear the other time. So I’m back so you’d give me exactly what I want,” I replied, and she sat on the table with a sly smile playing on her face.
“I’m beginning to find this quite interesting,” she remarked while smiling.
“Have a drink,” Jena whispered as she passed the glass over to me which I took and drank from it.
“You’re moving in the right direction,” she commented while rubbing my back,
“Jena, you don’t understand! Isabel has gone through a lot, and it pains me that I made her cry last night. I feel like I should apologize to her,” I expressed, and she raised her eyebrows.
“Apologize for what exactly…?” Jena asked curiously.
“I need to apologize for the way I spoke to her. If anything, she does not deserve the tone at which I spoke to her. It’s not her fault that she has such powers,” I explained, and she chuckled.
“It’s beautiful,” Jena whispered against my lips as she poured more of the drink into the glass for me.

“What is beautiful?” questioned as I drank from the glass to calm my nerves.
“The way you care about the girl, it’s beautiful to watch. I won’t even lie,” she noted, and I looked away.
“The girl is mysterious, Hector. It’s only a matter of time before you begin to realize that for yourself. But for now, you need my company…” she trailed off as she poured more wine for me. I noticed I was getting dizzy as each second passed by
“Drink some more, my love…” she urged me, as she spoke against my lips, and I tried to gain control of myself.
Whatever she gave me must be so strong because I was slowly losing it. “Oh, calm down for me, my love… she whispered as she kissed my neck, trailing kisses down to my chest.
“Don’t touch me, Jena!” I shouted, pushing her away and groaning in pain when she sent her hand to my shoulder, and I feir a strong pain shoot through the spot she touched. It was at that point that I realized what Jena was up to.
“You would listen to me and do exactly what I want you to do…” she mumbled as she kissed my lips, and I fought to stay awake.
“Get your hands away from him!” I heard a voice before I blacked out, still in Jena’s cave, with whoever the other person was that came to save me.
When I woke up, I was in my room with Hayden glaring down at me angrily.
“Ahh! I’ve got a splitting headache,” I cursed under my breath as he looked away. I could feel the anger radiating out of him
“Hades…” I trailed off.
“Don’t you dare take to me, Hector! What were you even thinking when you went over to Jena’s place?” he burst out angrily “I was trying to get the answers to many unanswered questions! With the prophecy looming over our heads like a curse, something had to be done,” I snapped, and he chuckled bitterly.
“And where did trying to break the curse get you? If I had not shown up out of the blue, the witch would have had her way with you.”
“Who knows what she’s even planning? I had her arrested already because I feel like she’s in cahoots with someone, and the truth must be revealed.”
“Jena?” I gasped in shock.
“Yes, Jena. I noticed your movements these past few days. Something told me you were up to no good!” e shrugged. “Hades, I don’t know what happened. Aunt kept going on and on about visiting Jena and keeping the pack safe…” I trailed off. “Safe from who? Our own mate? And you saw the need to actually believe Aunt’s words because you don’t trust Isabel.* “Hector, I know it took you a while to come to trust her for who she is, but then, you of all people should know Isabel would do nothing to harm us or the members of the pack.” He commented.
“You are right, I figured I should even apologize to her…” I admitted. Hayden raised his eyebrows curiously.
“Before you scold me, I know I’ve messed up by hurting her and would do anything to make it up to Isa. Trust me, I insisted, and he looked away
“I’m really mad at you right now, but you’re too weak from whatever potion that witch gave you…” he trailed off.
“I thought she was a seer. I could not believe my eyes when the pack doctor confirmed the substance to be something only a witch could come up with,” he shared, and I sat up.

I really felt bad about the way everything turned out. It was never my intention for things to torn out fise way they did. Sowe I’m feeling really bad, and I don’t know how to even explain it.

“She’s gone!” he shouted angrily.
“What!” I exclaimed as I got up from the bed, trying to wrap my head around what he just declared
“Isabel is nowhere to be found, not even Savannah or Gina,” he said, and I could see the worry and ferr witten all over his
face.

“What exactly did you say to her? Isabel isn’t the type to just get up and leave. She even left her phone, wh doesn’t want us to go looking for her till they come back, Hayden noted, and I stared into his eyes curiouay
“I’m sorry, Hayden. This happened because of me. I’m sorry, I apologized, and he looked away.
“Goodnight, Hector,” he gritted his teeth as he left my room angrily. I winced from the pain that shot through my legs “What’s going on? Is everything okay?” Aunt Lucia asked as she walked into my room to check up on me.
“I want to be left alone, Aunt,” I snapped at her, and her jaw literally dropped.
“Hector, talk to me… what’s wrong with you?” she questioned, and I stared at her in disbelief.
“Aunt, stop asking me questions I clearly don’t have answers to, 1 scoffed, and she stared at me in confusion, even though she was not.
“You convinced me to go to Jena, the same Jena that almost killed me with her powers. I honestly don’t want to talk about this right now. I want to be left alone,” I demanded, and her eyes flashed with hurt before she made her way out of my room
in anger.

“What are you doing here, Lucia? I honestly don’t have the time for this nonsense!” Jena snapped at Lucia
“You don’t have time for this nonsense, or you tried to do something outside the script I handed to you? How dare you Jena!” I spat, and she looked away.
“If you’re so proud of the script you gave me, why didn’t you hand it over to a better person? I can’t believe you’d do all of this to get Evelyn to become the Luna of this prestigious pack just because of your selfish desires she sneered angrily, and Lucia slapped her across the cheek.
“Let me go, Lucia. Whether or not you try to prove yourself innocent, it would not change the fact that you’re more dangerous than the prophecy I saw about their mate. Deep down, you are the worst enemy of this pack,” Jena accused while sneering, Lucia felt irritated as each minute passed by.
“You have no right to talk to me like that!” Lucia spat angrily, and Jena just gave her a smirk.
Lucia’s voice raised with bitterness, “You think it’s easy for me? I have lived in this pack for as long as I can remember. I want to rule, yet none of it has come to pass because I couldn’t be Luna. Not even when I constantly warmed their father’s bed so

“For all the nights I spread my legs for him, he turned around, choosing Celeste. The same Celeste who turned her back on him,” she gritted her teeth in anger.
“So now you want to kill me!” Jenna asked calmly.
“I can’t believe you’d do that to me, Lucia… I thought we were working together, to make sure you get the upper hand…” Jenna stuttered in fear.
“Well, you thought wrong, my love. Trust me, no one would try looking for you. I mean, they know better than to try,” Lucia
laughed, her voice echoing with evil laced in them.
