Chapter 45
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“What’s going on?” Savannah asked me as she made her way into my room.
“I don’t understand,” I replied as I dropped the glass cup in my hand on the table, and turned in her direction.
“Babe, a lot has been going on behind your back. There is a rumour in the palace this morning that both the brothers had a bad argument last night. I thought you had an idea why it happened,” Savannah revealed, and my heart squeezed in hurt. Hearing that the brothers fought because of me made me feel really bad.
“I don’t understand, why would they do something like that?” I asked, and Savannah took a deep breath in and out.
Savannah commented, “With Aunt Lucia’s schemes and everything that has been going on these past few weeks, I’m not surprised that something like that happened.”
“But whatever it is, I think you should talk to Hector. Maybe, just maybe, my brother would listen to you,” she advised, and I nodded as I made my way out of my room, then stopped by the door and turned in her direction.
“Thanks for the information, Savvy. I’ll be right back,” I responded and made my way towards Hector’s room.
I opened the door, and he stopped typing on his laptop as his eyes met mine.
“Isabel,” he called softly. But there was just something about the tension in his room that made me realize Hector was hiding something.
“We need to talk,” I demanded, with my hand around my waist.
“Talk about what exactly?” he replied, refusing to look at me.
That act of his proved they fought because of me. Hayden and Hector loved each other to a fault, whatever was bringing the argument between them definitely had something to do with me.
“Hector, I just told you we need to talk,” I muttered, trying to control my anger.
“And I just said I’m listening, Isabel. What do you want me to do? Stop working and have my eyes staring into yours?” he snapped angrily, and my eyes flashed with hurt.
“Don’t you dare speak to me in that manner, Hector! What is wrong with you?” I asked, and he rubbed his forehead as he stood up from the couch.
My eyes trailed from the stress lines on his forehead to the stubble on his jaw. Hector looked stressed out and worried.
“Whatever is running through that head of yours, I would advise you to talk to me about it instead of hiding it and fighting with Hayden. I don’t like it when the both of you fight,” I whispered softly, and his eyes burned into mine.
“You don’t like it when we fight? Good. Then stop being the reason why we fight,” he muttered, and my heart clenched with hurt as I opened, and then closed my mouth.
“Hector, you don’t mean that, do you? I can’t believe you would say something like that to me. Hector, you know I would never try to separate you and Hayden,” I uttered in shock.
“Then why are we fighting again? Isabel, there is a prophecy, and ever since Jenna had that prophecy revealed to the rest of the pack, a lot of things have been going wrong, yet you had nothing to say about it. You did not try to find out from Jenna it she was right…” he trailed.
“Jenna, Jenna, Jenna! Is that all you care about now?” I questioned

Chapter 45
“Yes, my powers are out of control for now, and I’m still trying to find out what could possibly go wrong in the future, but
you
and I both know I can’t do it on my own when you don’t support me, Hector! … I need you and Hayden to pull through this…” I trailed off as tears rolled out of my eyes, that I didn’t know when it dropped down onto my hand.
“The entire pack finds me crazy, and now the two of you fighting might just prove to the rest of the pack that there’s an atom of truth in all of this, which is not true…” I continued, and he sighed softly.
“Babe…” he tried to touch me, and I moved away.
“Don’t you dare try to touch me,” I snapped as I took steps away from him.
“Isabel, listen to me. Isabel,” he called as I made my way out of his room, crying bitterly.
“Hey, my Luna. What happened?” Gina asked worriedly as I got into my room.
“Let me guess, the thing with Hector did not end well?” Savannah inquired as she paced to and fro in my room while trying to come up with a solution.
“I don’t understand why all of this is happening right now. I thought I’ve gotten past this. I thought Hector and I were good, but he chose to support the rest of the pack instead of what we felt for each other. But here we are, going back to square one,” I admitted as tears rolled down my eyes.
“Suck it up and stop crying,” Savannah snapped angrily.
“Savannah, the Luna is hurt. Telling her to suck it up and stop crying would do nothing to help; you’d only end up hurting her further,” Gina explained calmly. I know she’s pissed off by the whole situation too.
“I believe it’s even for the better because it’s high time she realized that she has a lot going for her right now,” Savannah added.
“Yes, whatever happened with Hector is painful, but if Isa doesn’t stand up for herself, Hayden might be joining him next. We need to find answers, not tears,” Savannah insisted.
“The keys to the Royal Library have not been found. How are we supposed to find answers when it’s locked?” Gina questioned curiously as she rubbed my back.
“The perfect question. I managed to get to Yuna, and we will be making a trip out of the pack. The four of us,” Savannah disclosed, and my jaw literally dropped.
