ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“I think someone is trying to send you something very important. Why else would you receive a handwritten letter from an unknown source telling you there’s more to Grandma Shu’s death than what the eyes see?” Savannah asked as she read through the content of the letter.
“Everyone knows there’s more to Grandma Shu’s death than what meets the eye. The question is, who is this person?” Gina questioned curiously.
I began, “Or what if this is a trap to try and get to me? The protests and riots have not died down in any way. In fact, they seem to be increasing as each days go by.”
“I’m forced to think someone is planting the seed of hatred in the hearts of these people. I can’t sit back and do nothing,” I said as I paced around in my room.
“Then what do you intend to do?” Savannah asked curiously.
“Gaining access to Grandma Shu’s house can give me a lead as to what she was busy with prior to the time she was brutally murdered,” uttered, and Savannah walked slowly, lost in thought.
“I can gain access to Grandma Shu’s memories and her last thoughts if we can get into her house,” Savannah said, and I snapped my attention over to her.
“You told me you could not control your powers…” I trailed off calmly.
“I can’t control what I see, but I can channel what I want to see,” she said, and that seemed to make sense. Hayden and Hector would not permit us to leave the house like that, but I believe we can do something about it. I’m a seer, but you have the abilities of a witch,” Savannah blurted out, and I was suddenly interested in what she had in mind.
“We can escape the pack house if we are in disguise,” Savannah suggested, and Gina looked scared at whatever we were planning. In fact, she looked like she could pass out just by hearing us explain our plans.
“It’s risky. If the princes find out I let you out of their sight, I’d have myself to blame for it, my Luna. Maybe you should just stay indoors and get someone to do it for you…” Gina trailed off in a panic.
“And have Grandma Shu’s death go in vain?” I questioned.
“Savannah has just told us she can get to Grandma Shu’s memories if she gains access to her house. And to do that, we have to go ourselves,” I said, and she nodded in fear. She knew how much Grandma Shu meant to me and how this would affect me negatively if I let everything slide without finding out what or who truly killed her.
We stayed in my room until Gina returned with some clothes and a mask that we could disguise to help us escape from the house. We told Xavier to stay back and inform us immediately if the princes noticed my absence.
“I haven’t been out in the open for years,” Savannah muttered with a smile.
“Sometimes I can’t help but wonder how hard it was for you to stay in the confinement of that cave, I revealed as we strolled together.
“Yes, it was lonely. It was sad, and at some point, it instilled fear me.” She responded.
“After all, I was just a young girl who had been tagged as cursed, and my own father went out of his way to keep me away from the rest of the pack. To him, I was just a disgrace, and he did not want me anywhere close she explained. remembering the past.
“I’m sorry about that, Savannah. And your mom?” I asked curiously.

“Mom never had a mind of her own when it came to our father. Yes, she worked hard to be the best Luna the pack ever deserved, but deep down, she could not walk away from the abusive relationship that made her lose her true self. She wanted him to stay with her and love her… like a real husband should have done,” she revealed calmly.

“She died from the pain of watching him jump from affair to the other. Due to the mate bond, whenever he had sex with another woman, she would bleed from the pain. It was unbearable to watch her like that. Dad was abusive, when she dared to confront him, he would raise his hand to hit her, making her regret her actions,” Savannah continued, and Gina gasped.
“I knew he was a cruel leader from the stories I’ve heard about him, but if there’s a name that’s worse than cruel, it’s definitely that man,” she declared, her face squeezed in disgust.
We got to the house, and I saw a face I could recognize even in my sleep, standing right outside Grandma Shu’s doorstep, clad in black gown.
“Yuna,” I called out her name, and her eyes snapped towards my direction.
“What the hell are you doing here!” I snapped angrily.
“Who is she?” Savannah asked curiously.
“Isabel, I know you are angry, but trust me, this is not the right time to fight with me,” she said calmly.
“I can’t get over the fact that you are standing right outside Grandma Shu’s house, the same woman who tried to mend our broken friendship, and you refused,” I gritted my teeth angrily.
“Grandma Shu was also like a mother to me. She took us in and showered us with so much love. We might have fallen out of friendship, but that does not mean I won’t pay my last respects to Grandma Shu,” she said, and tears rolled down my face.
“I’m sorry, I just…I can’t wrap my head around the fact that she’s gone. It hurts so much, it breaks my heart so much…” I trailed off, crying bitterly.
“And I’m sorry, Isa. I’m sorry I let myself be used by your enemies. I’m so… sorry,” she cried out, and I joined her.
“I was confused, heartbroken, and jealous about everything that was happening. My parents manipulated me. Now that I have realized the truth, I would do everything to get you out of this horrible situation,” she assured me, and I smiled. “Thanks, Yuna,” I appreciated as she moved into my arms in a warm hug. We both burst out crying right outside Grandma Shu’s house.
“Okay, in that spirit, we should go ahead with what has brought us to this place. We have limited time to get things done,” Savannah intérrupted our emotional moment, walking in front
“What brought you here?” I asked, and Yuna sighed softly.
“There’s a lot going on that you have no idea about. Grandma Shu was announced dead, and I made my way to the pack borders just like old times to see for myself what was happening I met someone from the royal family at the border, but couldn’t recognize the person,” she revealed.
“But how did you know the person was from the royal family if you couldn’t even recognize them?” I asked, and she rubbed her forehead.
“Isabel, they had the royal cloak on. One of the soldiers handed file over to her, the same file in Grandma Shu’s possession before her death.“.
She instructed the guard to burn it off and make sure whatever information Grandma Shu had with her died before it got out. He sent someone else, and I managed to knock the guy out and get away with the papers, those are the papers returned to Grandma Shu’s safe, she revealed, and I rubbed my forehead.

“Did you check the content of the papers?” Savannah asked her.
“I couldn’t. It felt wrong,” she declared calmly.
“I had plans of leading you to it,” she uttered.
“You wrote the letter I received at the pack house?” I asked curiously.

“Yes, I just couldn’t do it upfront like I should have, not when I know you can’t even trust me,” she said, and I sighed.
“We should go inside,” Gina muttered as her eyes wandered around. We made our way into the house, and my eyes scanned everywhere, trying to find what I was looking for.
“Lucky for us, no one has broken into her house yet,” Savannah said, and I hummed. We walked over to the room leading to her library.
Savannah stopped by the door. “Grandma Shu was hiding something crazier than you know, I feel a dark energy in the room,” Savannah revealed.
“Dark energy? What do you even mean by dark energy? I’m confused. Grandma Shu lived a normal life, except for the fact that she had a human mate, which ended up complicating her life,” I tried to defend her, and Savannah placed her hand on the table, causing the wind to blow into the room as the windows flew open.
“Oh my goodness,” Gina screamed in fear.
“What was she?” Yuna asked, almost panicking.
“A seer,” I answered, and something about Savannah made my fingers burn.
“I can sense a strange energy too,” I announced as I walked over to Savannah curiously.
“That’s because I’m trying to channel her memories. This can be risky, but if we can get to talk to her spirit, you’d get answers that could help,” she informed me.
“But to do that, we need a witch,” she said, and I rubbed
my
forehead.
I mumbled, “Savannah, I don’t even know the first thing about being a witch, I’m just a normal werewolf.”
“I think you’re a hybrid. Yes, it’s not proven yet, but I sense multiple powers. Half werewolf, half witch, gifted with the unique seeing gift. You’re more than you’ve ever thought or imagined, Isabel!” Savannah exposed, and I sighed.
“You are gifted,” she repeated again, and her words sank into me making me stare at her. Tension filled the room as the thought of what lay ahead graced my heart.
“Place your hand on mine,” she declared, and I did exactly as she said.
Yuna and Gina watched us with fear as we tried to get the answers that would determine our next line of action.
“You’re scared?” Savannah asked, and I nodded.
“Relax,” she whispered, and I found myself giving in to her word as I shut my eyes immediately.
Then I saw something.
