Chapter 3
ISABEL’S POV
After my encounter with the princes and the brief conversation that followed, I just wanted to avoid them and pretend it never happened. It’s hard to believe I’m mated to two brothers. Everyone in the pack dislikes me except Yuna, but most of them want nothing to do with me. My own family is the worst of them all.
The next morning. I walked through the hallways, trying to avoid the stares and whispers of the students as I headed to class. My heart raced rapidly in fear with every step I took.
I stopped when I saw someone I didn’t expect to see, especially after what happened last time.
Seeing him brought back painful memories, and I realised why everyone was staring at me earlier. They wanted to see what would happen next.
The pack is large, but somehow everyone knows each other, just like they know what happened between Caleb and me. Not that anyone ever showed any sympathy.
“Isabel, my love, my life, I’ve been waiting for you to come to school,” Caleb said, and I just stared at him, shocked by his
Was this a cruel joke? Or was this really the same Caleb who had slept with my sister and then rejected me in front of my whole family? I couldn’t believe it.
“Caleb, I honestly don’t know what games you’re playing right now, but I don’t want to have this conversation with you.” declared, as I made to walk past him, but Caleb didn’t look like he would let me go just like that.
“Isabel, I know I hurt you by leaving you for Evelyn, but things didn’t work out between us. I was hoping we could get back together,” he said, his voice sounding fake and insincere.
“Everyone knows how helpless you are right now…..he mocked with pride in his voice, and I’ve never felt more insulted in my entire life
Yes I did not have a wolf, I’m considered weak and it’s no news that I was going to die soon. But that did not give him the audacity to say this to me.
“I am not helpless,” I answered him rudely, as I tried to keep my anger in check. This man is making me very angry at this point.
“Isabel I am promising you a lifetime of happiness…” he proposed, I scoffed.
“Happiness? Seriously Caleb?”
“You rejected me just like every other mate has done, and said it to my face that you preferred to be with my sister Evelyn
“I accepted your rejection already, I’m not going to take it back, uttered firmly while trying to stay calm.
This was definitely going to be another hot topic at school, but right now, I didn’t care. The news about the princes was already enough to ruin my plans of living a quiet life.
“So you won’t accept me back because I slept with Evelyn? Because I made a mistake?” Caleb asked, his eyes locked on mine.
“Isabel, we were a great couple. I’m planning to take our relationship to the next level during the mating season. I am your only chance to have your life back,” he said, smiling smugly.
“And I don’t want it if it’s going to come from you. I’d rather die” I shouted, my voice full of emotion. Caleb stepped closer, grabbing my wrist tightly.

Chapter 3
NOV 205
I winced in pain, trying to pull away, but Caleb wouldn’t let go. s grip was so strong it hurt, and I could feel tears stinging my eyes. “Let me go, Caleb,” I warned, my voice trembling as I stared into his cold eyes, looking for any sign of the man 1
once knew
“You are mine, Isabel. Do you really think I’d let you be with those princes?” he sneered, gripping my wrist so tightly I thought he might break it. The pain was terrible.
“You are weak, wolfless, and pathetic, Isabel. It’s crazy that you think the princes would accept you as their mate. Stop being foolish and forget those dreams,” he mocked, shaking me roughly as his words cut deep into my heart.
“Caleb..” I gasped as he suddenly let me go, making me stumble backward. My heart skipped a beat as I tried to regain my balance.
Gasps filled the air as Hector kicked Caleb in the stomach, sending him crashing to the ground. My eyes widened in shock as blood began to pour from Caleb’s nose. Hayden kicked him again, and Caleb cried out in pain.
“Please, let him go! Stop it, please!” I begged, panicking as I watched. It felt like I was in a movie, where the heroes come to save the helpless victim from the villain.
“I haven’t done anything” Caleb spat out blood, his voice weak. I stood there, trying to catch my breath, feeling overwhelmed.
“How dare you touch our mate?” Hector’s angry voice boomed through the hallway, and I nearly fainted from the shock.
She is my mate too,” Calch shot back, his voice full of anger, though it was clear he was scared. He wasn’t one to back down without a fight, but he knew deep down that he was no match for Hector and Hayden.
Hayden snorted. “Your mate? You rejected her, Caleb. Everyone in the pack knows how it ended between you two. You love to gossip, don’t you?” Hayden mocked, bending down to Caleb’s level.
“I haven’t done anything wrong! You can’t accept her, she doesn’t have a wolf, and she’s too weak to be Luna, Caleb muttered, still acting stubborn.
“Who are you to tell us that?” Hayden demanded, only to be met with another punch from Hector. The students around us gasped loudly as Caleb passed out, falling to the floor.
The crowd stepped back in fear, their eyes wide with shock.
HAYDEN’S POV
When we got to school, we noticed an unusual crowd in the hallways. Something must have caught their attention, why else would they gather like that?
“Let me go…” I heard a voice I would recognize anywhere.
“Mate,” Hector said, as if reading my thoughts.
We reached the scene, and without hesitation, Hector threw a punch. What followed was something Caleb didn’t see coming.
I watched his unconscious body with anger bubbling inside me. Isabel had managed to control the situation, but everyone knew about her history with Caleb. We weren’t going to let them walk all over her like they used to.
“She belongs to us. Isabel is our mate, and we won’t let any of you disrespect her.” Hector roared, his voice full of authority. The hallway went silent.
“Whoever decides to go against us will have themselves to blame.” I added in the same angry tone, silence filled the atmosphere.

Chapter 3
After we left the scene, we walked toward our class. I noticed Isabel’s sister glancing our way.
“You’re thinking about our mate?” Hector asked through mind link as he sat next to me.
“Get out of my head,” I muttered, and he smirked.
“I’m not happy about what happened a few minutes ago,” Hector continued, and I sighed.
“Don’t be too hard on her. She hasn’t had it easy with the pack members,” I said, hoping to calm him down.
“That doesn’t mean I should pretend to be impressed. She doesn’t have a wolf, Hayden. That makes her weak and vulnerable,” he said with a steer.
He asked, “How is she supposed to be a good Luna when she can’t even shift?”
“Maybe she has other qualities that can make up for not being able to shift,” I suggested, but he looked away, unconvinced.
“You’re making excuses for her,” he muttered, smirking slightly
“She’s the Moon Goddess’s choice for us. The sooner we accept her for who she is, the better. Or are you thinking of rejecting her?” I asked, and he shook his head.
“Isabel is weak and powerless, definitely not what I pictured our mate to be, but I won’t reject her,” he said, and I gave him a small smile.
“She has to prove she’s worthy of being our mate, Hayden. But that doesn’t mean we won’t protect her from the rest of the -pack. We have pack matters to discuss later,” he said, and I watched him walk away.
Hector might come off as a cold and arrogant person, but he is softer on the inside than what meets the eye. I like to refer to him as a coconut, hard on the outside and soft on the inside.
He has been like that ever since we were kids. We both did not have the best childhood. Mom committed suicide when she could no longer bear the chronic cheating from our father.
Our Father was the Alpha of our pack, the Moon Stone pack, which is considered the biggest and the most successful in the werewolf realm.
We were raised by our father’s sister who turned into a mother figure for us and led us to become the young men we are today.
Hector and I have been inseparable ever since we were kids. Our fates have been joined since birth, which explains why we have the same mate. I smiled as my mind wandered back to Isabel, so innocent, beautiful and soft–spoken.
I believe we will get to know her better as time goes on.
Deep down I hoped Hector felt the same way I felt, I don’t want us to reject Isabel.
