Chapter 25
ISABEL’S POINT OF VIEW
“Isabel!”
“Isa…” I heard Yuna’s voice as she approached. I raised my eyebrows, pulling my bag closer.
“Is everything okay, Yuna?” I inquired, noticing her eyes cloud with guilt.
“I heard what happened to you at the remembrance party. I tried to reach out to you, but we weren’t on good terms, and I didn’t have a pass to the palace,” she explained as I calmly observed her.
Why was she explaining all this to me? I thought she didn’t want to be friends anymore after what happened.
“Yuna, I’m fine,” I responded as tears spilled from her eyes.
“I miss you, Isabel. I know I shouldn’t have done or said all those things to you, but I was too hurt to think straight,” she cried
out.
“Yuna, I understand. I hold no grudges against you. I’ve always loved you like a sister, but when things went wrong, you showed you couldn’t stand by me,” I replied, watching her weep.
“Isa… please,” she pleaded, clutching my hand. I tried to feel some emotion, but all I felt was numbness and fatigue.
“I have classes to attend, Yuna,” I remarked, leaving her standing there. After everything, I’d be foolish to let people walk in and out of my life as they pleased. Amelia had been a lesson learnt.
Maybe, just maybe, I’m fine on my own. Classes went smoothly, but throughout the day, I kept wondering how to bring up the topic of Savannah.
How will I convince the brothers to check the east wing of the pack if the stories are true? And what if the journals weren’t accurate after all? Still, I wouldn’t know unless I took the chance.
“Hayden,” I called out, spotting him leaning against his car door with Hector already inside.
“We’ve been waiting for you, Isabel,” he greeted, kissing both my cheeks.
“I’m sorry I’m late. Hey, Hector,” I waved, and he nodded in acknowledgement.
“Hop in,” Hayden said with a smile, opening the door for me. The ride to the palace took longer than usual, but we eventually arrived, and I hurried to my room.
“Luna,” Gina greeted, bowing as she set down the things she was arranging in my room.
“Something strange happened today. Yuna came over to apologize for everything. I told her I hold no grudges, and we can live separate lives,” I shared, noticing Gina’s surprised expression
“I thought she used to be your best friend?” she questioned gently.
“Yuna hurt me badly, and after what happened with Amelia, I’ve learned to be cautious. Otherwise, I’ll keep getting hurt until Flearn the hard way,” I confessed, seeing her soften in sympathy.
“That’s really sad,” she said, hugging me.
“Have you spoken to the princes about Savannah?” she inquired, and I nervously rubbed the back of my neck.
“I thought about it, but then…”

Chapter 25
“You hesitated, waiting for the right moment? You need to get comfortable with the princes. Forget they’re princes and try to blend in. I know having two mates can be overwhelming, but I believe you’ll complement each other perfectly. That’s how it’s meant to be,” she encouraged, and I smiled.
“Trust me, you’re the best thing that’s happened to me,” I declared, making her chuckle.
“As sweet as that sounds, I think I’ve motivated you enough to convince the princes to take you to the east wing of the Royal Palace,” she said, and I nodded in agreement.
“I’ll be right back,” I announced, making my way out of the room and toward their office. When I arrived, they were both busy with some files.
“Isabel,” Hector uttered, raising his eyebrows in surprise.
“Do you need anything?” Hayden asked, concern in his voice.
“Yes,” I replied, and they immediately turned their full attention to me.
“Did you hurt yourself at school? Do you need to see the pack doctor?” Hector asked, grabbing my hand and pulling me closer.
“I need your help with something important, and I want it to stay between the three of us,” I stated, and they both nodded. This was going smoother than I had expected.
“What is it?” Hayden prompted.
“Remember I took the keys to the ancient library? It’s because I wanted to learn more about the curse on me.” I began.
I reas their facial expressions and I continued “I was curious about how to break it and I came across several answers, particularly about Celeste’s curse,” I revealed, and they listened with full concentration.
“How is that possible? Aunt Lucia said we couldn’t get answers because Celeste died long ago, and the witches have been in exile. Some even believe they’re extinct,” Hector responded.
“I found someone who gave me answers, answers I believe will lead to more,” I voiced out, watching as Hayden stood, tucking his hands into the pockets of his formal pants.
“And how do we come into this?” he asked, his expression making me feel more relaxed.
“She believes there’s a seer in the Royal House, named Savannah. She may hold the answers we’re seeking,” I revealed all at
once.
“A seer in the Royal House? I’ve never heard of seers in the pack Hayden said, surprised.
“This is serious,” Hector muttered, rubbing his face anxiously.
“The journal mentioned she’s only 16 and doesn’t age. She’s gifted and might be able to tell us things we didn’t know,” I added, and Hector nodded thoughtfully.
“The east wing? We were never allowed in that part of the mansion as kids, so we never had any reason to go there,” Hayden remarked, and I looked at them, hopeful.
“This stays between us. Aunt Lucia doesn’t like you, Isabel, and she’s made that clear. We can’t trust her with something this important. Let’s go,” Hayden decided, and Hector stood up as well.
I did not think this would go so smoothly. At least not so easily. But here we are, on our way to uncover the biggest behind the curse and the steps to take.
The steps that led to the dungeon were weird,it felt like we were visiting a whole different place.

“It’s shocking to see how dark this place is,” Hayden muttered as he lit up a stick with fire. We took the steps that led down, and Hayden held my hand to help me feel comfortable.

“Fuck,” Hector cursed, and my eyes widened at the sight of bones and gates leading all the way inside. It was strange that the place did not stink from the different things we saw.
“You’re scared,” Hector teased, and I shook my head.
“I’m not scared,” I insisted shivering a little bit, and Hayden chuckled.
“Look, it’s behind you,” Hector shouted, and I ran into his arms as a scream escaped my lips. I watched in shock as both brothers laughed, making gest of me.
“I can’t believe you get scared so easily,” Hayden declared, and they burst out laughing again.
“You can’t say something like that in a place as scary as this and expect me to stay calm,” I replied, and they muffled there laughter.
We reached a huge door, and I stared at the handwriting on the wall. It seemed to be written in a language I could not comprehend.
“It’s Greek,” Hayden informed me, and I nodded.
“It says ‘Savannah’s Cave,” he read out the words, and Hector took a deep breath in and out.
“I guess they were right about the Savannah story. The question is if the girl is even alive to begin with. And if she is, how do we even go in?” he pondered as Hector rubbed his forehead.
I walked toward the door and held the handle. “It’s very tight,” I announced, and they stared at me calmly.
“Move away!” Hector commanded, and I stepped aside.
He tried to break through, but the door opened on its own, making my heart almost leave my chest.
“Now I’m scared to even go in,” I announced, and Hayden chuckled.
“You fear too much, Isabel. We are standing right here with you. I believe nothing wrong will happen to you,” he assured me, and I turned just to notice Hector had walked right into the room.
“I can’t believe he’s not even scared,” I commented, and Hayden chuckled beside me.
“He’s not scared because we have no reason to be,” he replied, and my jaws literally dropped as we stepped into the room.
Everywhere was sparkling clean, and it was obvious that someone was living here and had access to the outside world. How do you explain the smell of food cooking in the kitchen?
“I see I have visitors in the house,” a girly voice announced, and our eyes moved to the direction of the kitchen, where a young girl stepped out with clean plates and an apron around her waist.
“Who are you?” Hector inquired, and we turned to him. Was he for real right now? How could he even ask such questions when it’s obvious that she’s Savannah?
“I believe you know who I am considering the fact that you stormed into my cave uninvited. I should be asking you that question,” she replied, and I stared at her face calmly.
“You look so young,” Hayden retnarked as his eyes met hers. I agreed with him because she looked very young. The journal was stating nothing but the truth.
How do you explain a girl being so young after many years of the incident?

“I’m cursed, I can’t die,” she revealed.

“What are you then? A vampire?” I probed, and she chuckled.
“The gift came with a curse. I can’t control what I see, I can’t age or die, and I can’t be mated to someone. Meaning I have to be lonely for the rest of my life, which sadly, does not have an end,” she explained, placing the plates on a wooden table in
front of us.
“I’m so sorry about that, Savannah,” I sympathized, and she stared at me calmly.
“The question now is, what do you want?” she asked, and my eyes trailed her long black hair with a stroke of silver. Her eyes were bold brown with a combination of emerald green.
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
“What do you mean by she refused to let you in?” Lisa inquired angrily, and Yuna stared at her as tears rolled down her
cheeks.
“I… I tried to get her to take me back, but Isabel has changed so much. She would not even listen to what I have to say, she just wants me out of her sight. I figured it was best that I leave her to herself,” Yuna explained, and Lisa hit her across the face.
“Please,” Yuna cried out from the pain on her face.
“You will not give up on what I have asked you to do. She must warm up to you and take you back. Got it!” Lisa shouted angrily, and Yuna nodded as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Yuna darling, we both know how disastrous it would be for you if your secrets leaked out to the entire pack. Do what I asked you to do, and everything will be just fine,” Lisa said, a smirk appearing on her face.
“Please…” she pleaded.
