Chapter 17
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW
“You invited Isabel to the party? What is going through that thick head of yours, Amelia?” Evelyn demanded as she poured some wine into her glass, then turned towards her sister, the look of disgust evident in her eyes
Amelia lit up a stick of cigarette and placed it between her lips, then pulled out smoke. “I don’t understand your sudden love for Isabel, it’s making me sick in the stomach” Evelyn snapped angrily as she placed the glass in her hand on the table.
“I do not love Isabel. I thought you knew me better than this, Evelyn, Amelia responded, with a smirk on her lips.
“Come out with it, what’s the plan?” she chuckled.
“Oh please, I’ll be damned to leave that girl without having something up my sleeves. It’s a plan, I’m trying to be nice to her so she comes to the party… and then we can Amella paused as he explained everything
“Wow,” Evelyn exclaimed, her eyes widening in amazement. This was something she could never have imagined in her
wildest dreams.
“Good plan Amelia. What better way to put that nobody in her place?” she remarked sarcastically, and they burst out laughing.
“Should we inform our mother about our lovely plan for Isabel Evelyn inquired curiously.
“No, I believe that’s not needed. We can do this on our own.” Amelia declared, and Evelyn smirked. After all, she trusted her
sister.
[AT THE PACK HOUSE]
“We heard you have found your mate. When will the curse be broken?” One of the pack Elders inquired impatiently.
Their pack has been known to be one of the most powerful packs in werewolf history, and they were not about to let that go down the drain because the Alpha twins had refused to take responsibility,
“We have found Isabel. It’s only a matter of time before the curse is broken, Hayden explained calmly, his voice filled with confidence.
“Isabel? The girl without a wolf. I thought we had moved past this
He continued, “Both of you are descendants of the strongest wolves in werewolf history. I served your father when he was alive, he was a strong man in his time, leading the pack with great strength.”
“To access your full potential, I do think you will do better with a werewolf who is not too weak to protect herself! What difference does that Isabel girl have from a human?” he questioned, his dislike for Isabel dripping from each word.
“Isabel is our key to breaking the witches‘ curse. It’s been years, and we could not even find a chance to break it. Now that we found Isabel, I’m not going to risk our chances because you don’t like her, Hector retorted, and the elders looked away.
Yes, he did not like Isabel, but there is no way these Elders would ruin his chances for him.
Aunt Lucia smirked as she stood by the door. Women were not allowed to offer opinions when it comes to matters concerning the well–being of the pack.
She did not have to say anything to make her point, these men did it so effortlessly. “You can use the girl to break the curse. As the elders of this pack, we do not approve of her, and our decision will not change,” Another elder proclaimed, and the brothers stared at them furiously.

They were the Alpha’s princes, but the Elders played a very big role in the pack. If they did not approve of Isabel, it would be very hard to get the rest of the pack to like her.
“I believe this meeting has come to an end,” Hayden announced, and the Elders made their way out of the conference room. which was filled with tension.
Isabel was making more enemies in the pack than friends. Nobody liked her, and just when Hector was trying to be civil with her, the pack Elders were rubbing it in their faces that she did not have a wolf.
“They have left, Aunt Lucia said, making her presence known in the room. Hector loosened the tie on his neck, he was pissed off by the situation too, but he was not a fan of Isabel to take her side against the Pack Elders.
“They do not like Isabel, and we are not going to ignore that fact Aunt Lucia commented as she sat down on one of the empty chairs.
“Whether we decide to ignore the fact, Isabel has come to stay. We are not going to use her to break the curse and discard her, she does not deserve that after everything she has been through Hayden shouted angrily. He was done trying to make everyone understand his point of view regarding the matter.
“She is weak, without a wolf! You and your brother have a responsibility towards the members of the pack. The growth of the pack is dependent on both of you! It’s your word against theirs,” she exclaimed, raising her voice angrily.
The Princes had never argued with her in the past, they loved and cherished her like she was their biological mother. But now that Isabel was in the picture, Hayden was acting like a different man.
“She is going to help us break the curse. It’s best we return the favor and not try to sabotage her. She does not deserve any of that. Hayden concluded with finality in his voice.
ISABEL’S POV
I woke up with a jerk, and my chest tightened. The same dream from last time left me with questions I could not even
answer.
Beads of sweat rolled down my forehead as I stood up and paced around my bedroom, scared to my bones. I got out of my room after checking the time on the clock.
I could not sleep. I had questions in my mind that needed to be answered before I completely lost it. This time around, I was being chased by a girl with a mask on her face.
It felt like she was out to ruin me. “No sleep for the wicked, they say. What are you doing out here so late at night?” her voice echoed in the sitting room.
I turned around just to come face to face with Lucia. The woman never liked me, and she did not even hide her dislike towards me. It was evident on her face, as obvious as the bump of a pregnant woman.
“Good evening. Lady Lucia. I greeted calmly.
“Oh, shut it. What do you think? That having Hayden by your side would suddenly make you the Luna?” she sneered, her hatred dripping from each word.
“I have no intentions of manipulating any of them. They are my mates…” I began.
Just like the other guys, six mate before the Alpha twins. What do you stand to gain from this? What witchcraft do you practice right before our eyes? You are the most shameless girl I have ever met, her words pierced into me like a dagger.
“That’s not true,” I muttered softly, my voice calm and collected. This was not the first time I was stabbed with hurtful words, but somehow, every time burned like it was the first.
“All my life, I have craved a little bit of love and care, not from anyone, but even from my own family. Yet, I never got it.”

“Hayden has shown me how much he cares about me. Hector is warming up to me too, so why would I try to manipulate any of them?” I questioned, and her eyes burned with rage.
“Are you calling me a liar? You sure have a lot of motives, Isabel. From being, you love to become the only Luna to the Alpha
twins,
The first to be mated to two men in the pack history after six rejections! This would surely go down in werewolf history. That’s if I let it happen,” she growled angrily.
She continued. “You will not find happiness within the four walls of this pack.”
“I would rather die than watch the day you rise to such power, wealth, and fame,” she hissed, then flipped her gown around as she walked away, leaving like she had never been standing there.
The thirst that made me come out in the first place vanished into thin air. I took hurried steps back to my room and shut the door immediately. I leaned my back on the door and burst into tears.
“Miss Isabel!”
“Miss Isabel!” I heard someone call and opened my eyes to the bright light piercing into my eyes through the window.
“Good morning, Miss Isabel. I’m your new handmaid, Gina,‘ she introduced herself with a smile playing on her lips.
“Nice to meet you, Gina,” I replied weakly, and she smiled.
“Come on, I have to get you ready for the day,” she announced, and I got down from the bed. Cina had the most welcoming presence, the first I had encountered in the house since I came here.
“Indeed, the words from the other maids were correct when they called you beautiful,” she revealed, and I turned towards
her.
“You think I’m beautiful?” I asked, and she frowned.
“Have you believed anything less than that?” she inquired, and I felt my throat clamp with thirst. I blushed in embarrassment.
How do I explain to the lady in front of me that I’ve been made to think I was too ugly to walk the face of the earth?
Evelyn and Amelia were the definitions of beauty when my parents were concerned, not Isabel, who did not even have at wolf, to begin with.
“You are very beautiful, Miss Isabel. The princes are very lucky to have you,” she said, smiling, and I returned the smile. “I think I love having you around already.” I responded as she helped me out of my nightdress.
“The feeling is mutual,” she added, making me chuckle. We got to the bathroom, and trust me, there was no dull moment with Gina. She just couldn’t stop talking
“Have you gotten a tour of the pack house?” she asked curiously
Tve not been allowed to move freely… I hesitated.
“You will soon be Luna, it’s high time you start understanding the responsibility that comes with that,” she remarked while helping me dry off.
“I don’t have a wolf. I’ve been mated to six guys who rejected me. I’m cursed, Gina,” I confessed, waiting to see the hate in her eyes. But instead, she stared at me, blinked thrice, and then raised her eyebrows in a way that made me chuckle.
“And trust me, none of that happens to be your fault. It’s just the moon goddess trying to play with your luck, and it’s up to
