Chapter 11
ISABEL’S POV
“Hello. Sister, Evelyn stated sarcastically as she sat at the opposite end. Yuna raised her eyebrows in question, and I signalled her to calm down. Arguing with Evelyn would only cause unnecessary drama.
“Oh, Isabel, I heard you came to school and decided to see for myself if you really have no shame left in you,” she spat, stressing the last part to make me feel bad.
“Evelyn. I have done nothing wrong to you, our parents, or anyone else in this pack. I honestly have no idea why you feel so threatened by me and would go to any length just to see me sad and unhappy. I am your sister!”
“A sister with a curse on her head, yet you managed to snag both Alpha Princes! How does that make any sense to you, Isabel?” She questioned.
“I’m so frustrated by the fact that you get to do anything you want and get away with it!” she burst out angrily.
“You have the love of our parents and managed to get every mate that rejected me! Yet you think I’m the lucky one. Are you for real right now?” I asked, my voice dripping with pain.
Things could go back to being normal for you if you just stayed away from the princes. As long as I live, I will continue to be a thorn in your flesh,” she threatened, and Yuna stared at me in shock.
“Have a bad day ahead, Evelyn spat as she made her way out of my presence.
“You should have said something to her. Letting her say all those hurtful things to you and leaving like she was right is what’s. giving them the audacity to repeat their actions,” Yuna said, frowning
“Can we just let it slide? I hate being the center of attention, please,” I held her hands calmly.
“I hate it when they treat you like this. Evelyn would go out of her way to make sure they reject you. You need to put on a tough skin and expect anything that could happen,” she uttered, and I nodded as she pulled me into her arms in a bone crushing hug.
I remembered my lunch date with Hayden and Hector, and an unknown warmth crept through my heart. I made my way to the place and smiled when my eyes met Hayden’s.
*Isabel, I was beginning to think you stood me up, he stated politely as he held my hand. I have never seen anyone treat me with this level of respect. Even my father has always treated me like the worst thing to happen to him.
Hayden was nice, charming, and sweet. “You told me you would be coming with Hector?” I asked curiously, and he bit his bottom lip, then chuckled.
“He has pack duties to attend to and couldn’t make it,” Hayden explained calmly. I’m not a fool; I knew very well that Hector did not like me one bit. If he had his way, he would stop feeling the mate bond.
But somehow, they needed me to break whatever curse had been bestowed upon them, just as I needed them to live again. “You’ve been quiet.” Hayden point out, and I blushed when I felt his hand on the small of my back.
“I don’t know. Tell me about you and Hector. We can play 10 questions,” I suggested, and he raised his eyebrows.
“Wait, don’t tell me you have no idea what that is. It’s a game,” I explained as I laughed at the fact that he didn’t know anything about it.
“Fine, I guess I get the hang of it already,” he said, and I smiled.

“Isabel. I clon’t think that’s a good idea. Hector and I should tell you what the curse says, together,” he sighed softly, and my eyes softened in his direction.
“Hector doesn’t like me. You might never get the chance to tell me about it if you wait for him to come around, you know,” I urged him, and he chuckled.
We fell silent for a while, and I decided to break the silence. It was obvious he wasn’t going to tell me anything about the curse in his brother’s absence.
“I never knew I was cursed. Yes, I was different, but I had no idea the Moon Goddess gave me such ill luck. I must have offended her in my previous life, I uttered jokingly, then laughell. Something Hayden did not reciprocate. I guess he didn’t find my situation funny
“It was the night of the full moon, and I didn’t change. All my hopes of living a normal life went down the drain. I got the chance to meet new mates to break the curse, and none of them worked. They either fell for Evelyn or Amelia,” I explained calmly.
“Did your sisters have no idea that you needed those mates to survive?” Hayden asked curiously, and I chuckled.
“They knew In fact, they enjoyed seeing my hopes go down the drain each time I faced a new rejection, Somehow, I think they believe I’m not worthy of a second chance,” I explained calmly.
Everyone deserves a second chance, Isabel. You have such a wonderful heart,” he said and held my hand, making me smile.
You’re not worried that I don’t have a wolf? Isn’t that risky, considering the fact that a Luna is supposed to protect the interest of the pack members by being strong and bold enough to defend them?” I asked, and he chuckled.
“You have a big heart, Isabel, and a lot of hidden potential. You just haven’t realized it yet, and I’m willing to help you discover yourself and grow into your full potential,” he voiced out, and my eyes stung with unshed tears.
“Come here,” he opened his arms, and I bit my bottom lip at the intensity of emotions running through my veins as he pulled me into his arms for a hug.
HECTOR’S POV
I stepped out of my room and came face–to–face with Evelyn. I knew it was the sister of our mate because they kept appearing in front of Hayden and me.
Evelyn smiled in my direction, which I did not return. “Oh, Hector, I knew I would meet you here, she uttered sweetly as she walked into my arms and trailed kisses on my jaw.
“What do you want, Evelyn?” I asked, wondering how she managed to get into the pack house without our permission.
“What do I want? Hector, it is no secret that I want you and your brother. I want to be by your side. Who other than myself can give the pack what it deserves?” she asked proudly.
“I don’t understand what you’re saying.” I said, and she laughed.
“You don’t understand, or you enjoy stressing me?” she asked as her eyes scanned the sitting room.
“We are mated to your sister Isabel. If anything, you should respect that,” I declared, and the look on her face showed she was not pleased by my choice of words.
“Hector, she is cursed. Have you stopped to think about what that curse could do to this entire pack? What if her curse ends up being a disadvantage to both of you?” she asked.
“What do you stand to gain from all of this?” I asked as I walked closer in order to infuriate her, and she looked taken aback

“I stand to save the pack from impending danger. Isabel is a disaster waiting to happen, and the sooner you realize that, the better for all of us,” she said, and I stared at her calmly.
“With me, you both would enjoy mind blowing lovemaking, the best Luna for the pack, and the best mother for your unborn children,” she explained as her hands went to my body, held her hands immediately.
“Don’t touch me, I warned strictly, and she stared at me in shock.
“Hector, I just told you everything you need to know…” she trailed off as embarrassment washed over her.
“And I just told you not to touch me, Evelyn. In fact, I would really appreciate it if you leave, I roared. “I said leaver, I sneered, and she stared at me angrily before storming out of the pack house.
I might not want Isabel as our mate, but I don’t want to have anything to do with her cunning and manipulative sisters.
1 kept busy with pack duties until late in the afternoon. When I walked out of my room, I came face–to–face with Hayden.
“Hector,” he called, and I turned towards him.
“Brother,” I replied, and he sighed softly. “I told you we were supposed to have lunch with Isabel today, and you stood us up.” he muttered calmly, and I stared at him in disbelief.
“Hector,” he called again.
I made it clear from the start that I won’t involve myself with that girl. I don’t want anything from her. If she’s up for a one night stand to break the curse, fine. But if that’s not it, I’d rather stay out of these meetings, I snapped.
That’s unfair, Hector. Isabel is a nice girl if you get to know her better. It’s not her fault that she’s cursed,” he explained calmly.
“And I hate that I’m starting to sound like a broken record. I don’t like that she’s wolfless. It’s unfortunate that we’ll end up protecting her for life if she becomes the Luna. Isabel is weak, pathetic, and too calm for my liking. She lets people walk all over her. What kind of value would she add to the pack?” I asked angrily, and his eyes clouded with hurt
“That’s so bitter coming from you. Who better than the two of us would understand how it feels to have a curse hanging over your head? Yet you stand here and judge her?” he asked, making guilt wash over me.
“I’m not changing my mind about Isabel, and I would appreciate it if you stopped trying to force her on me,” I stated, and Hayden looked away.
“You’re beginning to sound like her family members, Hector,” he uttered in disbelief.
“And you’re starting to sound like a weakling, someone who can’t live without Isabel, and that’s sick!” I cursed at him, feeling his fist connect with my face in that instant.
“Don’t you dare!” he snarled as he grabbed my neck, and we fought aggressively.
“Hayden, Hector! That’s enough!” our aunt called as she rushed toward us, trying to separate the fight.
“Aunt!” I exclaimed in shock.
“I can’t believe that cursed girl is beginning to create a rift between the both of you!” she spat angrily.
