Monica’s eyes flickered, and she quickly stepped forward to link heran with Helde’s She said, “Mom, I haven’t done anything. Maybe you’re just
Heidi responded, “Monica, I know you well I know it might be hand to accept having Nicole back, but as you know, the Boyd family can afford to raise another child. Get along with her, and both of you will be equally important, ”
However, those words didn’t seem like reassurance to Monica. They sounded like a warning
She felt as though Heidi was accusing het of being seasonable, blaming her for targeting Nicole. The idea of equality sounded nice, but when it came down to it Heldi always favored Nicole
Monica could barely mask her instration Clenching her teeth, she uttered, “Mom, if you can’t accept me, I’ll just move out. You and had have raised me years, and I’m grateful. I’ll make my own money and repay you someday. ”
Heidi was momentarily taken aback. She reached out to stop her. “Monica, what are you doing?”
“I’ll make room for Nicole. She’s the time heiress of the Boyd family, after all, I’ll leave,” she snapped.
“Monica!”
Monica marched to her room, intent on making Heidi recognize her bias, hoping that awareness would finally eam her the love and respect she craved. But to her suprise, Heidi also refused to relent
Heidi took a deep breath, her expression hardening as she spoke plainly “Monica, if you really want to go out and make your way, I won’t stop you.”
Monica froze at Heidi’s statement, her steps coming to an abrupt halt. Out of Heldi’s sight, her face twisted with jealousy. Her anger surged, threatening to lovertake her
“It’s all Nicole’s fault!” she roared inwardly.
For all the years she had lived with the Boyds, Monica had never experienced hardship, She was used to luxury, and the idea of working for a living was utterly foreign to her
She quickly swallowed her temper. She found it fat more appealing to stay at the floyd residence, where she could continue living comfortably.
Monica forced herself to tum around, her face softening as she looked at Heidi
“Mom, I’m sorry. I won’t be so stubborn. I’ll get along with Nicole,” she murmured,
Heidi, who had only meant to scare Monica into submission, softened when she saw Monica’s sincerity. Her expression relaxed slightly as she explained, “Monica, I just want you to be more understanding. Don’t push Nicole away, please.”
Monica nodded obediently, keeping quiet and not daring to say another word. But once Heidi left, the obedient mask quickly slipped away. She closed the door behind her and locked it before picking up her phone.
As she scrolled through the messages from her socialite friends, a dark glint sparked in her eyes. She hadn’t expected Nicole to be so impressive, considering that she had been in a three–year telationship with Jacob.
But when Monica listened to the recording her friend had sent, a dark smirk spread across her face. Jacob had treated Nicule with such disdain, as though she were nothing more than a toy to him.
She figured that Nicole must have truly loved Jacob to stay with him for three years, Now that he had broken up with her, Monica reckoned that Nicole was likely devastated.
Monica couldn’t resist the urge to twist the life a little deeper.
since she didn’t have Jacob’s contact details, she asked her friend for his phone number and eagerly dialed it.
After a few rings, a lazy voice came through the line.
“Hello, who’s this?”
