Chapter 55
The security guard hesitated, but when he saw Giles raise his lul, he shut his mouth.
Caspian didn’t miss that Seeing the guard choose to follow Giler orders made Caspian lose face. He turned and glared at Giles, furious. “Giles, you embezzled company funds and bought expired medicinal herbs, swapping them for lower–quality ones. The evidence is clear.
“Those medicines have already been destroyed by Whitaker Medical Center. You’ve caused the company a massive loss. The only reason you’re not in jail is out of respect for the years you’ve worked fiere. Don’t push your luck!”
The shareholders all understood now. So this was Giles. They had all heard about the scandal, and now that they saw the culprit, they looked at him with disapproval
Giles retorted. “I didn’t do any of the things you mentioned. It was your nephew in the purchasing department who took the money and bought those rotten herbs. My team in the workshop found out and reported it to me. When I went to inquire. the purchasing department even tried to cover it up with fake orders.
“You also bribed someone in logistics to give false testimony, accusing me of reselling the good herbs. I ordered production to stop, but you bypassed me, had them sign non–disclosure agreements, and continued production. Then, after it all blew up, you pinned the blame on me.
“I was kicked out of the company with nothing, leaving all the documents in the office. You even forged my handwriting. right? You’re the one who caused the company losses!”
Giles‘ explanation was so logical and convincing that the shareholders didn’t know who to believe.
“What’s really going on here?” Mark asked in a stern tone.
Caspian was one of Mark’s men, and if Caspian looked bad, then so did Mark. This was something Mark absolutely couldn’t tolerate.
Caspian’s eyes darted nervously, and he anxiously replied, “Mr. Byrne, let me explain. It’s not like Giles says. He is just upset about being fired. He’s been pestering us for compensation for days, threatening to expose everything if we don’t pay up. Just give me some time, and I’ll take care of it.”
With that, he turned to Giles, trying to sound tough but clearly shaken. “Giles, if you leave now, I won’t hold it against you. But if you don’t know when to quit, don’t blame me for calling the police and having you thrown in jail”
Giles wasn’t the least bit intimidated. “Go ahead and call the police. I’ll wait.” He was certain Caspian wouldn’t dare because everything Caspian had done was full of holes. Calling the cops would be a joke.
“You!” Caspian choked, unable to find his words.
His mind raced, desperately trying to figure out how to get rid of Giles. Then he remembered hearing that Giles hada- pregnant wife. A thought crossed his mind–maybe there was a way to use that to his advantage.
Harry spoke up at just the right moment, “Ladies and gentlemen, I am the proxy for the major shareholder. Here is my letter of authorization. From this point on, every word I say represents her decisions
For a moment, everyone was filled with doubt, shifting their gazes away from Caspian and Giles and turning their attention to Harry, who had suddenly spoken up.
This wasn’t Harry’s first rodeo. He’d been in situations like this countless times, and he showed no sign of nervousness. He gave a subtle nod to the security guards standing at the door, signaling them to close it. After that, he positioned himself in the center of the room and turned on the projector.
He added, “Everyone, take a seat. Whatever questions you have, you can ask after I’m done. It won’t be too late then.” With

that, they had no choice bist to sit down, still filled with questions, but they held them in for now.
Caspian shot a smug look at Giles before leisurely taking a seat the front row, right next to Mark–just beside Giles.
Seeing that, Giles scoffed inwardly. Let’s see if you’ll still be smil og later!
Harry pulled out a document and projected it onto the big screen, making the announcement. “My client has transferred all her shares to Ms. Whitaker. Effective immediately. Ms. Whitaker is now the largest shareholder of Sunrise Pharmaceuticals”
As soon as those words were spoken, the room was filled with disbelief. Everyone glanced at each other, shock written all over their faces, wondering, “What? The major shareholder had been changed? This is way too sudden, and we didn’t hear a peep about it.’
“Who is Ms. Whitaker? Why isn’t she here?” Mark was the first to speak up.
After giving them a moment to process, Harry calmly pulled out another document. “That brings me to the second matter. This is Ms. Whitaker’s letter of authorization. Every decision I–nake from here on out is on behalf of Ms. Whitaker.”
“Huh…” Someone gasped, their gaze toward Harry finally showing a hint of apprehension. “Who are you working for then?”
One of them couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Why did both the previous and current major shareholder choose him as their representative? Do they know each other?
Sunrise Pharmaceuticals is valued at several billion dollars. Even if the major shareholder only held 57%, that’s still worth hundreds of millions of dollars in cash. Who would just give that away? What kind of relationship do they have!‘
Harry remained calm and collected, his smile never fading. “Who I’m working for isn’t what matters. What’s important is the third thing I need to discuss.”
Mark sensed something wasn’t right and cautiously said, “Hold on. I’d like to take a look at that letter of authorization from Ms. Whitaker.”
“Of course,” Harry replied smoothly as he handed over the authorization letter, his finger resting on a specific spot, ready to take it back at any moment.
Mark thoroughly examined the document to determine its authenticity. When his gaze moved to the top of the page, he paused, his expression darkening slightly. “Let me see the name
As it turned out, Harry’s finger had been conveniently covering Ms. Whitaker’s name on the authorization letter.
Harry curved his lips into a subtle smile but didn’t back down. His tone was polite but sharp, almost like a customer service rep, yet his words struck right where it hurt. I’m sorry, Mr. Byrne. But Ms. Whitaker doesn’t wish to make her name public. We’ve signed a separate agreement regarding this matter.”
The other shareholders weren’t pleased, and one of them grumbled, “This is the first time I’ve seen a major shareholder hide their own name. What’s with all the secrecy?”
“Everyone’s here, but she’s special, huh?” another chimed in.
Yet another added, “What? Is she some kind of magical fairy? Why can’t we know who she is?”
Harry’s eyes narrowed slightly, the faintest trace of a smile on his lips. “If anyone has any complaints, feel free to sue me.”
One of the shareholders believed that suing over such a trivial matter would only risk upsetting Ms. Whitaker, and it simply wasn’t worth it. With everyone lost in their own thoughts and knowing what they had to do, Mark’s attempt to stir things up fell flat.
With a grim expression, Mark leaned back in his chair and said, “If there’s anything else, let’s hear it all now.” He then pondered, I’m not like the others. This mysterious Ms. Whitaker If I want to, I’ll find out exactly who she is.

Harry pulled out two more documents and continued, “The former general manager of Sunrise Pharmaceuticals, Caspian Blake, has been protecting his nephew, Jamison Blake. Together they embezzled over millions of dollars from the company. This is a serious breach, and effective immediately, Caspian is dismissed from all his duties, and legal action will be pursued
Before he could finish speaking, Caspian couldn’t hold back any longer and snapped, “Nonsense! It wasn’t me! It was Giles, and I’ve already fired him.”
He suddenly stood up, slamming both hands on the table, seething with rage. “Are you and Giles plotting against me? You two are definitely in this together!”
Right then, a security guard gently opened the door and stepped in, followed by several police officers. Faced with all these high–profile figures, the guard nervously swallowed before informing them, “Uh… These officers said they’re here to investigate after receiving a report.”
Harry raised his hand with an elegant gesture. “I was the one who called the police before I came upstairs”
